I have a house guest. An unexpected guest. A lovely guest. We are eating homemade treats and sipping coffee, and I have escaped to say heloooo to you, while she devours the new Martha Stewart issue of Living :).
Unexpected visits can be wonderfully wacky and perfect, don't you think?
(revisited drawing circa 2007)
As long as you aren't running around in your birthday suit, whilst someone is peering through your window howling, helllllloooooo anyone home???
Haha!
In my past life (career), I was showing a vacant property, labeled as vacant. My client and I walked in and a man ran by, in the buff. It was traumatic :)
Have you ever had a funny unexpected visitor experience?
I have been known to stuff everything in a closet in 5 seconds flat, at the sight of unexpectedness.
Anyhow, I have to run, so as not to be too rude to my super special guest.
I will be back soon, I have been creating oodles. Hope to have things to share asap.
See you soooooooo!
🖤,V
3 random's for today
1) I have a really juicy (yet pointless) tale to tell you, next time 😉
2) Matty is sleeping by Mammie's toes and being sooo goood.
3) 🖤🖤🖤

1) I wanna know now 😉
2) A very large poodle hugged my knee today
3) 🖤
I don’t often have unexpected visitors – but if I did, I do the same as you…run around like mad and stuff all extraneous things out of sight! Enjoy your company!!! 🙂
xoxo Theresa
Random things for you…
1) I am left-handed but use right-handed scissors (rather poorly)
2) I LOVE Indian food! I wish I could eat it every day!
3) When I am cleaning, I love listening to ABBA!
We seem to have a whole buncha unexpected guests in our new home (maybe because we sit on the main road through our neighborhood 😉 The girls friends stop by, our friends stop by…it’s like, ‘hey, theres Jamie’s house and I gotta tell her something,’ tee hee…ya know, cuz that’s much easier than just calling 😉 hahaha, no I’m kidding…we love it and don’t mind at all. But, it does make me keep the house picked up a bit more (even though we still have the odd box here and there).
Well, I hope you have fun with your guest V…hellooo to whomever they are!
Jamie 🙂
Hmmm. Might your mom be your unexpected guest since you said that Matty is sleeping by “Mammie’s” toes? I believe that “Mammie” is one term of endearment by which you address your dearest mom. OR perhaps Matty is by YOUR toes, and you have taken up the name Mammie for yourself, too, and wish your fur boy to address you by that name as well?
Oh my! The man who ran by in the buff . . . Was he a legit occupant? Bet it was more traumatic for him than for you! Ha! Would love to hear what happened next!
Do hope you will share with us some of your creative oodles! (smile)
Hugs and enjoy your guest!
Please enjoy your wonderful guest. It has been a while since we’ve had guests, but that is the way it goes sometimes. We are ready for them when they do come.
I can’t wait to see what kind of oodles you are creating.
I used to live in a tiny Colorado mountain town called Nederland. I had a friend/neighbor who would come by often and just enter the house without knocking! She was very sweet and folksy and I never knew how to say that I’d rather she knocked…
Then one day she came in to find my husband and I practicing the Kama Sutra! haha! That was the last time she entered without knocking!
i hope to be one of your unexpected guests one day…maybe in 20 years time when all my chicks have flown the nest and i actually have time and money to do something for myself 0_o
xxxx
1) My rabbit is eating all the mangoes that fall from the trees in my yard
2) How do you pick mangoes from the tiptop of a tall, tall tree??
3)I love your blog. And I eat mangoes when I see your beautiful peach cobblers and am sad that I don’t have any peaches. 🙂
It’s been a while since I’ve had an unexpected guest of the human variety but all sorts of critters have been known to show up in my backyard and they’re my favorite kind of unexpectedness! Occasionally a human one shows up and I’ve been known to shove incriminating evidence in the bathtub and hope no one peeks behind the shower curtain.
1)I believe I was a cat in another life.
2)My favorite time of the day is after midnight.
3)I’ve had silver streaks in my black hair since I was 19.
Between a peach and a tomato,
On a clear,sunny, summer day,
A vistor rang or rather they did play.
The glory it started in the very first hello,
A cushion and drink with peachies in a row.
The fairies in the garden and the elfs in the hall, all started dancing like it was a summer ball. Oh what a surprise in the house today when a visitor appeared with a secret today….*

Mmmmwwwwaaaaa!!
love me…tee hee!!!
Have fun with your guest. They are lucky to enter your special world.
My cats have taken turns sitting in the chair next to me. Big soft and fluffy.
Enjoy your unexpected guest and please tell us more. Lovely list.
Don’t lie…. it was less than 5 seconds… I was there…
You are wonderfully, whimsically, fancifully, delightful in every way! I have only discovered your blog and as soon as I figure out how to be a follower officially (I follow you whether the little icon is there or not), I will happily do so. What a charming free spirit you are!
Devotedly yours,
Tricia Fountaine
PS I am enjoying going back through your posts like a friendly magazine you pick up over and over.
with lost boys and cowboy i have learned to expect unexpected guests which makes them sort of..expected? we do a thing, on Sundays, where whoever is here gets four tasks (never call them chores, kiss of death!) and someone yells “GO!” and we all run around like some crazy Chinese fire drill cleaningpalooza, rags flying, windex squirting, vacuum roaring, whirling dervishes of cleaning manics til 30 minutes has gone by….and then…silence.
{of the lemony fresh and shining variety ;p}
and then of course no one comes over til the following Saturday when the house is all disheveled again. And THAT’S how you know when to expect unexpected guests…i guess kinda like when you’re au natural. 🙂
XOXOXOX
Randomosity:
1. I’m a sucker for hot coffee in the mornings and iced coffee in the afternoon.
2. Ice cold tomato sandwiches with very thin cheddar bits and a side of grapes will make me sing.
3. You add avocado to the above and I’m over=the=top ecstaticsville. 🙂
My house never stays clean and almost no one ever comes over.. but I am often off somewhere in dream land visiting your blog and imagining having such amazing adventures as you have… maybe that’s why the house never stays clean. I also love your picture, with the little girl who says she has to pee…LOL! I think I am her, seems to be a memory from my child hood.. thanks for the smiles and the beautiful dreams..
