Why do I feel like I am in one of those movies, where I am the only one who notices that something strange is going on, and everyone I tell or ask looks at me like I have lost my mind?
What is this regarding? Well, you see, the weather is astounding for this time of year. "It is" Southern Arizona. "It is" normally 90+ degress this time of year. However, for the last three days it has been dark and cold and rainy. I have "never" experienced this weather, in May in Arizona, in my lifetime.
Now, I love and adore and embrace this weather. I love everything about it. I adore rain and clouds and pancake days like this. And, I feel oh so lucky to have 50′ weather on May 23rd. But, I have to admit, it is downright freaky…
And, on top of that, snow in the mountains? This is like my real life dream come true… Wait a second, is this a Mother Nature hoax?? Will I wake up to 114′ tomorrow?
I went outside to take some photos, when all of a sudden, I felt like I entered a time warp. It felt like Fall. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a figure in the sky. I am serious… The weather is confusing everyone. Even the Witches…
I am hereby proclaiming my very own…
Yes this guy is really hanging on my porch at the country house, right now. Yes, we are celebrating every holiday on the porch, all of the time 🙂 Why put it all away? Time goes by like lightning anyway…
Do you think I would freak my neighbors out if I went Trick or Treating tonight??? I bet I could get some really good treats this time of year… Hey, I think I am on to something…
I’ll tell ya, I just visited September and October, and I am totally re-inspired by all the fun we had. How I love Fall!!!!
I have had the weirdest week in the history of weird weeks. Today still feels like Monday to me. I have been in a photo taking, shop update, packaging frenzy (which I welcome wholeheartedly). And, really, just sat down to breathe today… And went, wait, is it really Friday, no really? Friday??? Plus, it feels like Fall??? This is tooo weird…
Anyhow, In other totally random news… I have been playing with making videos. Now, I am not prepared to turn the camera on myself. I am not that brave yet (maybe one day)… However, I have been taking a few wee videos in the studio and such…
So today, for practice, I actually made a video using photos of some of my artwork…
I couldn’t get a hold of my brother for more music, he is working on some movie editing project and is swamped these days. But I found a great resource for music you can use in videos. So, that is where this song came from, by Aaron Derington…
Now this is just a tester, but I’ll get better over time, I hope… All of the Paper Dress Art pieces and Mermaids are paintings I did in 2007 (2006). Some of the illustrations are newer…
So, there you have it. My first video, made by me. I don’t know how I figured out the software. It was like magic. I looked at it before and felt so overwhelmed. But all of a sudden, my brain was open to it today… So voila….
I have a Jewish Rice pudding cooking in the oven in a bain marie (for Mr. Lovee), and it smells heavenly. It is almost like a rice pudding custard. Perfect for a cold evening… I better be off to do my second stir and lowering of the heat…

I was just telling my boyfriend it felt like Halloween weather. How could it be? It was 110 degrees on Monday! Now here we are having to pull out the fleecy PJs again … And then we will have to just put them back by weekend’s end. It is too bizarre.

Yes, it is raining like crazy up here…cold and wet. It’s wonderful! I remember it freezing on the last day of May, so..I keep thinking it’s not too unusual, and it’s the high school graduations, and 50% of the time you have to be a duck to even attend…Have a beautiful weekend…I am looking at 3 whole days stretching before me…

It must be welcoming to have rain in Arizona in May:) I mentioned the other day that it barely rains in this part of Oregon (it was in the 90’s here last weekend) and of course what has it been doing the last two days?..raining! I love the smell of it all though and it saves me time in watering my plats which have decided to come to back to life again!
I have yet to figure out my video software on my Mac, and like you I have a relative who does film for a living so I suppose I could ask. Your video is quite beautiful~I havent seen many of those paintings before. Have a lovely weekend!
I’m watching your video again and just had an idea..maybe host a video event for those who want to participate. Kind of like the swashbuckler soiree but with videos of peoples art or whatever! Just an idea..not sure how many of us can actually make one:)

well, glad you are feeling Halloweenish, because i was listening to Christmas music last night! well, let me explain, i’ve got it on my ipod and i put my ipod on shuffle last night and Christmas carols kept popping up occasionally. i don’t have a remote for the ipod player and i didn’t feel like getting up every few minutes to change the song, so i just listened to the Christmas carols. it was kind of fun!

I was so sad at the thought of taking my Christmas tree down this year, I went out and bought a 6′ tall fake one on wicked super sale for $7. And I *was* doing seasonal decorations, but apparently I am bad at changing the decorations every month, so now I’m just adding little bits and pieces of fun things here and there. Why not have Halloween in May?

The weather here in NY is strange too! Very rainy and cold, and yes, it feels like fall without the beautiful colors. Hmmm, I may have to raid my cabinets for some yummy halloweenish treats! 🙂

Strange things are afoot in your neck of the woods (in terms of the weather anyway!) Im experiencing a beautiful autumn here in the southern hemisphere…. Often in October, when its spring here, I think its so silly for the shops to be marketing Halloween stuff, we should have our Halloween in May. You are most welcome to join in a southern hemisphere Halloween!

We’re having a weird weather weekend here too. I don’t ever remember it raining on Memorial Day. We went to a mountain peddler’s fair yesterday and it was sooo cold and muddy. I like your Halloween idea!

Strange weather here too — there is something very odd happening with our weather patterns!
OH you are not alone in thinking that the weather is behaving strangely. And, I missed the snow on Mt. Lemmon? That same day we drove to Riudoso, New Mexico and traveled route 60 through Heber and Springerville and marveled in huge, huge snowflakes! It looked like Christmas.
