This, Madame, is not Versailles…

The Messenger: ( Boy with Blue Bird, now on card, not just on plate)

       11

When things get unusually tricky, and there seems to be process after process, each seeming more ridiculous than the other, Miss Fanciful shall be reminded…This is not Versailles! However, there are still proper processes that must be followed to ensure an exquisite outcome.

       16

The only process left, besides the drawing, coloring, drying, printing, scanning & logo adding, is the Glitterization.  They must then be packaged, delivered to waiting shops and YES! It is True!!! All others Will make their entrance into the Etsy shop this week!!!! Many originals included!!!YAY!!!! Plus other treasures, which will be whispered to you in a few days…

Miss Fanciful has had a weekend like no other…Endless hours of painting and drawing. Her inspirations have been a small few. Including your warm and wonderful encouragement and support…As well as the wonderful invention of the repeat button on the DVD player with movies such as Marie Antoinette & the always color inspiring Nanny McPhee.  Oh, the home decor, the cakes and shoes and dresses do inspire the fanciful soul!!!!! (hee hee, Versailles, home decor?? giggling, I wish that my Home decor was even a breath of such indulgence, I think you can't even call that home decor, would it be more like Palace Decor? YES!!!!!). Besides DVD, there has been endless NPR on 4 different radios, enjoying Saturday shows and now Sunday shows…

Here is a snipette of what Miss Fanciful's weekend has encompassed…Cards, Cards, Cards – Oh and Coffee & Take-Out, or Take-Away as the Irish man says, in his thick charming accent…

It is a lovely bright sun-shiny day! May your day be filled with magic and charm, passion and life!!!!

       49_1

Miss Fanciful is still inundated with the processes of selling art, which do not come as easy to her as the processes of creating art….But she will visit you, as she speaks of each and everyone of you in great detail!!! Have a lovely lovely lovely day!!!!!!!  Put on a crown, and if you do not have one, make a paper or wire crown, and enjoy your favorite treats…..You deserve it!!!!Why? Just because you are you, and you are lovely!!!!

Ps: If you have not yet seen Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette, as most of you have, you should. If you can enjoy it for the color and lush gowns, palaces and cakes, oh – and the little gorgeous daughter, then you will love it!!!! But, it was a tad bit hard getting passed the lack of history….Although, it is clear that that was not the message intended, so Enjoy it!!! I am sure you will!!! I guess the guillotine would not be that romantic?? So, in this case, bravo to the lack of be-headings….The real story  is quite sad….

my oh my you have been super productive! how exciting!
i’m so wanting to see MA… hopefully soon. i rarely get to see movies these days… sigh

  21. Paris Parfait says:

Those cards look wonderful! Incredible how you’re producing so many in such a short time. As for the film Marie-Antoinette, I liked it for the costumes and art, but you’re right, the core of the story misses the mark. As for the real Versailles, the first time I saw it, I thought it a bit obscene – all that gilt and beauty when people were starving. But then I remembered the history and how different things were then and one can understand its appeal. It’s certainly an adventure in excess, even now. The china and porcelain alone are enough to make one swoon!

  22. giggles says:

What an amazingly talented woman you are! So inspiring! I’m excited that I found you!! haha….I’m giggling with glee!
    Peace Sherrie

  23. Gillian says:

Oh my goodness – okay that is not right – let us start again – OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I can’t tell you how excited I am that you are opening an etsy shop – okay I shall try – I ridiculously, overly, scrumptiously excited that you are opening a shop!!! I have to ‘heart’ you – the minute you open – you will let us know when??!!
And can you believe I have not seen Marie Antoinette yet – Miss Baroque herself – lover of all things gold and pink and costumes galore – what have I been thinking – I have to se it the minute it comes out on DVD and then I shall be even more inspired to create – and that can only be a good thing. Have a great day!!! xxx

  24. Rosemary says:

I am so happy you visited me. What a refreshing visit I had to your blog. How utterly inspiring. Thank you. I look forward to reading more soon. (I have a terrible cold and my eyes are squinty and puny and full of water–I want to see your lovees in full sight!)

  25. sulu-design says:

What a productive weekend! It seems we had lots in common – lots o’ stuff got made, lots of coffee was consumed, and lots of weekend NPR was heard! Now, good luck on the sales end of things.

  26. eb says:

Amazing Miss Vanessa – your boy with bird – and – my boy with bird… birds of a feather!?!
    you are most charming
    xox – eb.

  27. sadira says:

Heavens…it looks a bit like you did piles and oodles of stuff over the weekend. I wish I had been so productive (but not so much) just sat back and watched my first weekend go by…spent a lot of it with the superhero (yay) hiking, lounging…spending money on new fabric…which led to dreaming about skirts and quilts.
Oh yes…pedi’s when you come up, it will be a must…we must have soft tootsies! It makes all the wine drinking and chocolate eating that much better…
I am on the edge of my seat for the shop update…I can hardly wait!

  28. Sonya says:

I must rent Marie Antoinette I know. That and get a man to speak in a charming Irish accent. I already have a husband. If only I could dub him. On occasion. So glad to hear another finds Nanny Macphee a visual treat. Amelie too. Take care – and you’re right, I need to whip out a crown.

  29. cruststation says:

Yay, the shop is coming soon?! I have already spotted a few cards I like 🙂 Love your ‘Vanessa’ illustrations today, they look great in colour. I have to buy the movie on DVD, I wonder if watching it would remind me of you?

  30. Well, I think the whole world knows how much I love your creative gene!! And I’m going to be right at the enchated Etsy door all pressed up on the glass window chanting “OpenOpenOpen!” (I’ll be the one in my jammies.)
Ahhhh crowns – my world is full of crowns and tiaras lately. Is it something fluttering in the wind? We are all royalty in our own worlds aren’t we… heh!
Can you believe I have had the M.A. dvd sitting here for a couple weeks now and it still hasn’t come free from it’s wrapper?! Gasp. I think I should cancell tomorrow in honor of a “mental health” day. Know what I mean, jellybean?

  31. Marilyn says:

I can’t wait to see your Etsy shop. I’m anxiously awaiting to *heart* you. 🙂

  32. Kelly says:

(Aargh! My mom has dial up)!!
Oh Vanessa, how right you are…Everything just HAS to work out in the end!!! Where that will be though, I don’t know??
By the way, did I miss something on your blog where it says where you sale your cards?
    XoXo Kelly

  33. stephanie says:

Oh yes, Marie Antoinette! Join me for champagne and chocolate and incredible shoes!!!! What a girl’s day out that would be!
I have searched and searched for lotteria and finally bought a couple sets on ebay. Not the quality I have had in the past, but love seeing yours with your take out!
Can’t wait to see all our stuff on Etsy and hope to own an original soon!

  34. G says:

I came here from LEIKUR OG LIST and am so happy that I did. You have a wonderful blog and your artwork is fanciful indeed. I’ll look forward to the opening of your Etsy shop. Good luck.

  35. Tracey says:

My first visit here and I must say I ADORE your work! I must show Darling when she returns home from school, as this is the type of thing that is just up her alley… Looking forward to your Etsy shop!

  36. cally says:

Piles and piles and piles of cards!
    What a happy achievement.
Another achievement, I finally remembered to put you on my sidebar! I swore I would never go over 10, but there are a few more of you that I vistit really regularly and it’s silly to have rules for rules sake. x

  37. allyson says:

I am wonderful, thanks for asking! I love to see pictures of your progress, it inspires me to keep going to. Isn’t it so satisfying to crawl into bed, exhausted, body aching, all because of the hard work you just expended making your dreams come true (not somebody else’s). I remember being exhausted after working long hours for “the boss” and its just a different feeling, not nearly as satisfying.
Oh yes, can’t wait to see the Etsy shop!
