Was.
A.
Wacky Day.
Have you ever had one of those days where you are walking along, minding your own business, all is calm and then WHAMO. Wacky weird?
Expect the unexpected they say.
Make Lemonade out of lemons they say.
The inside of a soon to be cracked egg mess explodes and decorates the floor with bright happy confetti.
What do they say about that?
It wasn't a rotten day. I discovered a snafu with something and I had to stop everything I was doing and deal with it…
They say everything happens for a reason.
Maybe it does?
Once, I had an annoying snafu that made me late leaving the house, and it also kept me 2 minutes behind a horrible car accident.
A long long time ago a boy broke my heart so badly that I thought it would never heal. Time cured my heart and even erased him from my heart's memory. I healed and flourished and the boy turned out to be a rotten man to a girl he married. Boy was I happy he broke my heart early on…
They say, there is light at the end of a tunnel.
They say, change your perception and the whole world will change.
But, what do they say about cleaning your room?
Nothing I hope. Unless they say something like, there will be a pot of gold under your mess. Then again, you might find a note from one of the most important people in the world (if you clean your room)…
The reminder that you are someone's lovely child, is better than any ole pot of gold…
They say to make the most of what you have in life. I say, thank goodness for decoupage, felt balls, crystals, clay, twinkling lights and paint. They can help you build your palace, even in a country love shack…
Some days will be wacky, some days will be wonderful, some days will be rotten, some days will be sublime. Some days will even seem mundane…
Until the rainbow and the moon turn up at the same time, to remind you to open your eyes and see the bigger picture… (click on image for full effect 😉
And then, your wacky day turns out okay, albeit unresolved. Which is okay because the one you love hugs you in the kitchen. One of those hugs where they hold on and squeeze tighter with each breath. A never ending hug, full of the only thing that truly matters.
Maybe it really is about the confetti in the end? Confetti in your heart and in your soul, much like butterflies in your belly…
Yes yes, perhaps a little confetti is all we need?
🖤,V
ps: I am going to watch The Soloist right now and make some jewelry for my case in my friend's shop (I need to refill it tomorrow, eeeps!). And in a few days, I hope to be able to share the super fun thing I was supposed to share today, which snafued on me ;)
pss: All of the indoor photos in this post were taken at night, hence the strange lighting…

Yes, all we need is a huge box of sparkeling rainbow confetti … and of course, your blog posts 🙂
Have a wonderful dreamy day 🙂
you think like me, girl! its nice to know im not alone:)
by the way, who is that huge crazy-cool doll???? she wears real shoes……
happy September, vanessa sweetie!
Yes, confetti sprinkles a little joy over everything mundane. And that shot of the night sky and rainbow is superb! xoxox
I sometimes forget that things can be fun and sit here with a worry wrinkle across my forehead. Then I remember and I recreate sparkle and confetti inside my mind, sort of 🙂
Btw I thought snafu was some kind of little creature. Like a gnome or fairy.
Miss V..
I just happened upon your corner of the enchanted forest and I must sit and catch my breath! What awesomeness abounds! I have added you to my blogroll and look forward to many more magical meetings.
I am hoping to participate in your Halloween Celebration too, as soon as I figure out what it’s all about. I’ll let you know for sure…
So very happy to have made your acquaintance.
All that you say – how true, how true! And yes, nothing better than a wonderfully long hug! Hugs to you! And I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us…
Have a great week
Kitty
I would choose a wacky day over the mundane….I think! lol I posted a photo of a rainbow today but not as vivid as yours. We sure have a lot of coincidences in our lives….you and I! Hugs to you!
I say this all the time. To try to not get stressed out and just roll with the punches and enjoy life before it passes you by.
It’s one of the reasons I really love your blog, your focus on LIFE, and FUN.
yes, we must take each day as it comes, little snafus and all. i always tell myself, “self – you are exactly where you are supposed to be at this moment. just chill.” always makes me feel better. xoxo gorgeous photos as usual.
Sorry the snafu delayed your news but glad you’re getting it worked out! I live for confetti on the floor…although mine’s usually glitter. 😛
Beautiful post!
I love remembering that I am someone’s lovely child……it keeps me safe and warm when I’m sad. 🙂
Your postlings…..always such beauty and thoughtfulness…..thank you, Miss lovely! 🙂
But the lighting is so divine and adds an ethereal glow to all your lovely images even the pile of clothing on the floor ;-).
OH FANCIFUL ONE-I NEEEEEDDDDD YOUR CARPET BAG!!!!! I’m melting in puddles all over the floor because of its beautiful details. Pray tell where did you find such a magical bag? Why if I had one I’d carry it everyday even if I had nothing to put in it. Carpet bags TRULY sing to my <3.
Is your baby doll eating one of those raspberry sandwiches...yumedy yumedy!!
love me
PS. Oh such a sweet Mombie. Give her a hug for me for raising such an enchanted daughter who always brightens my day ;-)!
My dear Magical Muse, you have figured out the key to happiness – At the end of the day, it’s all about the confetti! Oh how I adore you! Your photo of the rainbow and the moon is Glorious!!! Heavenly. Devine.
**kisskiss** Deb
Thank goodness for your snafu because this post sings dear! You are Resplendent, keep shining!
Blessings.
Confetti!!! that sounds good. I am over the moon…my Son will arrive Saturday.
I love it that you choose to be happy…if everyone did what a wonderful world this would be.
V~
I seem to have wacky days more and more as of lately. Some wacky good, some wacky bad. But all in all I consider myself pretty lucky!!
I love the confetti pics..brightens my day up quite a bit!!
Have a splendid wonderful day Miss V!!
Kylee
p.s. How was the soloist??? I’m a big Robert Downey Jr fan 🙂
So sorry about the snafu – They can be so annoying and time consuming, but it’s nice to read about your oh-so-healthy attitude towards them.
Since I’m relatively new to your blog, I followed the link back to your earlier jewelry post – What a visual treat! And, the something you said about not sticking to one thing/style was sooo inspiring to me. I’m a dabbler – practically everything is interesting to me (current obsessions include shoe, millinery flower, doll, and jewelry making). I have been trying to find my “niche,” but maybe I should just embrace variety and explore all the possibilities. Thank you for setting such a great example.
I LOVE the picture of the moon and rainbow. And yes, I enlarged it as I listened to the Commodores “Zoom” on my Playlist and it took me somewhere else 🙂 Thanks for the adventure and positivity ~ER~
I will take confetti on the floor or in my hair any day of the week!! More confetti please with just a touch of color and light. Hugging you
SueAnn
I love the way you have embellished your Country Home, it all looks like a story book.
Besides, there is nothing wrong with the lived in look HEHEHE
Karey
I think this post was just what I needed. That and I got my own hug in the kitchen this morning! Wow!
“Have you ever had one of those days where you are walking along, minding your own business, all is calm and then WHAMO. Wacky weird?”
HAH!! Just every day this weeeeekkkk and last-snafus abound! Chaos reigns! The world tilts on its axis! The fate of the nation rests in my hands and-oh ok. Maybe i got caught up in it a wee bit.
….only, you know what? I just stopped by the shredder at work and secretly stuffed a bunch a colored paper in the machine hahee!!! i will confetterize the place myself (does that make me a bad egg?)
HUGS ROCK & SO DO YOU!! XOXOXOXOXOXO
🙂 your blog makes me smile.
Oooh. The Soloist…I’ve been wanting to see that.
Oh oh oh…I made confetti spaghetti last night for dinner, so I heartily agree…that confetti is just a small bit of what you need some days! How in tune are we?? You KNOW I would gladly send some down, but I’m afraid it wouldn’t make the trip so well…
“Creative minds are rarely tidy.”
Can you believe that I used to say that to my parents when they asked me to clean my room? And you can imagine how happy they were to hear such cheekiness from their eldest daughter! I love your room and your fairy lair and all the wonder-filled pictures. Confetti, indeed. There should be more of it!
Enjoy the day!
Erin xoxo
Wacky weird is a great saying. I have to use that. I have to clean my walk in closet tomorrow or planning to. I’m seriously hoping there is a pot of gold for me in there!!
I do love the pictures of your space. I have lights to in my bedroom in pretty blue.
I have a gift for you on Saturday post. Go check it out when you have a chance.
Haha! Well if there is a pot of gold under a room’s mess then I must have at least ten pots of gold.
I had a weird day last week and it turned out that all the things I thought were wrong worked just perfectly together so that I ended up referring to that day as The Day It All Came Together.
Hope you had fun playing in your jewels!
Sorry you had a snafu today, but you sure know how to make mine brightly colored! Love your take on life and what it has to offer. Adore your photos….I think the lighting works here! And that rainbow into the clouds shot looks Fantastic! I feel like I just deeply breathed in a colorful breathe of fresh inspired air! :>
Vanessa, your lovely post made me stop and think. Sometimes I need to remember to step back, take a deep breath, and realize all the positive forces at work in my life. Thank you so much for sharing…it definitely made an impact. The photos were breathtaking, by the way. Today, here on the East Coast – we are enjoying perfect pre-autumn weather. It has me dreaming of pumpkins and fallen leaves and crisp clean autumn air! 🙂
A pot of gold under the mess…if it were true I’m sure we’d all have sparkling clean rooms! The question is, how many treasures do we have that we forget about, how many are buried..it sure is sweet when magical things resurface…
Love,
Krista

Vanessa,
I love your attitude about life. Beautiful pictures. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
Hi, its always so nice to visit you. I just had to leave a post. Thank you for your words, they have helped me gain a little perspective today! 🙂 I love the photo of the rainbow and the moon. So pretty.
Happy creating.. Gail
ohoohoho….
i adore this phrase!!!
—-> Confetti in your heart 🖤
and in your soul <------ so very very very good! 🙂 🖤 to the strange lighting, too. i am fond of change-ups every now and then, aren't you 🖤
I too was lucky enough to see a rainbow at the end of my day yesterday. Having driven nervously through the rain to pick my hubby up on our return journey when hubby had taken over the wheel, he took a brief wrong turn which gave me the opportunity to take a photo. Half of the rainbow had disappeared but it is still an amazing product of nature 🙂 Sprinkling more confetti your way in hopes of a snafu free day 🙂
Wacky weird is a good thing for the soul. Keeps you on your toes and ready for the unexpected, like a night with a rainbow and the moon? Who ever would have believed it! Only in your world Vanessa! I think all those dances around the gypsy fire has cause a magical world to take residence around your Country Home. And what a delightful country home it is! And I did want to tell you, that because of you, I now owe 4 extra pairs of shoes that I didn’t have before because of your pictures with those lovely shoe “cases”. Thanks for telling me where to find them, but unfortunately, I live in a teeny, tiny, town. So I did the next best thing and went to the thrift store and found some of the most amazing pairs of shoes! Yeah me ~ LOL!!!
Hey Sweetness!
I’ve been away so long, I have no hope of catching up with your Wild and Wacky Ways, so I shall jump straight into the middle…
I’m so happy that you roll with life and don’t let it stress you. You’ve averted disasters of the heart and saved life and limb in the process. Hooray for Kitchen Hugging with your Special Mister. 🙂
xoxo,
Kate (The One-Who-Missed-You-Terribly during her August hibernation)
Snafus sure keep us on our toes don’t they.
Glad you were able to remedy yours.
Ours this week was an appendicitis for my hubby. Amazingly enough even that has it’s own silver lining…crazy.
Can’t wait to see what the “super fun thing” is.
Have a really lovely day =)
Oh Vanessa, I just love your lemonade recipe! You are darling!!
Your posts always make me smile. 😉
See ya buddy,
Deb
Your mother has the most beautiful hand writing…
haha you are funny, Vanessa!
I’m glad the day wasn’t so bad after all. It’s all that confetti. 🙂
Oh wow, the jewels you make! Wowza. You and I share a similar sized stash, but alas, I’ve only tried soldering twice — the fumes about ate up my lungs and I think I’m just going to have to give that one up.
Incredible smoochiness to you!
Who dared to break your heart? The fool! lol
However, now you have the Lovee-meister so all is well. 🙂
Your pic of the rainbow moon is deliciso!!!!
You make the world a better place!~
xoxo
That rainbow is amazing V, you really know how to capture em.’ And yes, whoever broke your heart was a fool…but so glad he did because you and Mr. Lovee are just perfect 😉 I’ve always believed that everything happens for a reason too, even though we might not know why, but it does I tell ya, tee hee. That’s what we’ve been doing this week too…cleaning! My oldest’s room was a MESS, ugh. But all clean now, thanks to mommy dearest. Hope you have a less wacky day today.
Jamie 🙂
Get me some of that confetti. The weather here is bleak and I need some sunshine 🙁
Confetti and hugs – does it get any better?!
Another enchanting post, and your rainbow photo is absolutely stunning!!
~ Carolee
Miss Vanessa,
Always great posts to see life in the positive way…
Love these photos.
~ Gabriela ~
I agree with you… At the end all we need is to know that someone love us. And we also love someone… The small things and moments that let us enjoy the day… like the tea time… And, I love to feel my heart like if it was full of confetti. Thanks for sharing your magical, gorgeus, original, lovely photos!!!
Your attitude is wonderful. The rainbow alone is worth quite an effort. Thank you for sharing both. I needed a dose of that.
Kat
I Love your Site…… I think it is awsome!!
