Au Naturel

Hi there!  Remember me?

I didn't run away with the circus, but I did have one of the busiest weeks ever.  I can't even begin to describe everything I packed into my week.  Most of it was real world grown up stuff, which of course, isn't as fun as running around the country in braids and long gowns doing all sorts of nonsensical things…

A week 26

I have some super duper fun things to share tomorrow or Tuesday, but for today I have some of this week's more peaceful moments captured on film…

There were Outrageous Clouds

A week 16

Along with, a day in a river bed.  Mister Lovee had a photo shoot in said river bed for a publication, where I found myself smitten with this tree…

A week 3

Stones I would have loved to bring home…

A week 5

Afternoon tea in our garden…

A week 1

Raspberry Jam, fresh raspberries and fresh cut mint sandwiches…

A week 8

The perfect date…

A week 6

Rolling pin, flattened bread, makes yummy tea sandwiches.  As you know, those who do not eat their crusts, will not have lovely curly hair (or so beloved Jennifer, of the delightful Two Fat Ladies, used to say).

Garden bath by twinkling lights…

A week 4

Grape silhouettes for your taste bud pleasures, under a Lavender Sunset

A week 2

All of the season's monsoon rain in one solitary day…

A week 25

Ooooodles of hail took the day from 110' F to 66' all in one hour.  Ice in summer, yumm yumm…

A week 24

After the massive rain subsided, golden sun illuminated the earth and autumn visited for one afternoon.  The golden glow turned everything that was green into shades of fall for just one afternoon…

A week 22

A week 20

A week 21

Oh, autumn, do come again soon…

A week 19

Then there were a few days at the city house with fairies and gnomes (literally) helping me do tons of work.  This month I want to tidy up my closet in the city and find lost treasures under piles of garments…

A week 7

In the garden, seedlings continue to be my beloved babies, growing along bit by bit…

A week 12

A week 15

A week 13

Chinese Parsley in glorious abundance…

A week 14

Sunflowers sprout with little seed shells still attached to the leaves, as they unroll…

A week 11

Earlier in the week, a man's face was pushing through the clouds.  Can you see it?

A week 27

A borrowed image I have embedded into the photo below, slightly illustrates my point (image from sewainternational.com).

A week 28

Under such skies, huge peaches found their way to the Gypsy Theater

A week 18

Oh giant peach loves…

A week 17

And so I ask, what better way to end a post, and a week for that matter, than with delectable hors d'oeuvres? (truth be told, I had them for breakfast, tee hee)

A week 9

Off I got to partake in that a bit more, for my Sunday afternoon…

A week 10

But, not before I tell you who won the Somerset Art Calendar from the last post.  Per random number generator, care of the proverbial hat…  That would be Alexis from The Magickbox!  Yay Miss Alexis, e-mail me your addy 😉

Soooooooo, that is a smidgen of life as I know it.  Time for a deep breath, a new week, and something so fun to share next time that I just can't wait!!!

🖤 ,V

ps:  The manboys are playing their dreamy instruments as I type, such a treat!

Well, Miss Vanessa, I must say, you are a true, true artist! If only everyone saw life through your eyes, and could marvel at the ‘simple’ things, I am sure it would be a much happier world – thankyou for brightening my day x

    Veevala, Veevala ~~
So many things in this post prompt odd questions (like, does one wear a scarf and mittens with shorts & galoshes when the temp goes from sweltering to freezing in nanoseconds)?
….but then I forget to ask because OH THAT CLOUD!!!
I want to climb inside, curl up in it and float away!!!!!
Do you think, maybe, when you are through with it, maybe you could send it this way, pppplease?
    Thanks everso…XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

It has been cloudy beautiful here as well…cold at times and then heat searing into your flesh! The winding down of monsoons for sure…Which I have been celebrating with a summer cold/flu…which is why I only just checked my inbox…and now there’s something in your inbox as well. I am looking forward to a better more sickie-free week ahead…and the moments in which to capture it with my camera!

  18. Kathy says:

That glorious golden photo took my breath away. I am pushing autumn away at arm’s length. Not ready to give up summer…just yet, but my, my. That was a stunning photo you did there. The pic of Mr. Lovey enjoying a dainty cup o’tea with you made me smile. You two…what a lovely pair of love, I must say. This was a grand way for me to end my Sunday evening. Thanks! – Kathy in Chicago

  24. sarah says:

    Namaste, Sarah

  25. SueAnn says:

These pics are stunning, I love the Golden Afternoon shots!

  27. karen cox says:

Lovely photographs Vanessa, and you’ve gone and made me hungry again. See you tomorrow.
    Karen

  28. OohLaLaura says:

Ooh ooh! I saw a different face in the clouds, but they would be fast buddies, I’m sure. In the upper left hand bit where the clouds turn all deep pink and flamey is a man in silhouette looking down at YOUR man. He looks a bit like the Lemony Snicketts villian, Count Olaf.
    Toodle Poodle
    Laura

  29. What beautiful photos of the sky! I posted some today, too. What a difference a few miles make! lol Enjoy your week! You stay so busy….you amaze me!

  30. Carrie says:

    Absolutely stunning photos! 🙂

  31. Helloo there,
I did the other thing, ran around in the countryside blowing soap bubbles an twirling and I also went to a fair and looked at a carousel and went to the beach.
I badly want to see the fairies and gnomes that helped you out.
For some reason this post didn’t appear in my blogger blog reader until now!

  32. Pixie says:

So much beauty! Even with all the real world, adult life stuff to take care of.

  33. Lady P says:

is your life really this dreamy? ah, the trees and the roots and the tea photos had me in swirl of thoughts cozy remembrances

  34. Carl V. says:

Gorgeous pictures, as always. I am especially captivated by the scrumptiously wicked looking tree!

  35. michelle says:

That is it! I am convinced you really do live in Wonderland! And have a magic camera! Thanks for sharing!

  36. What glorious photos! I needed a mental ‘get away’ and here I find it on your wondrous blog. I can see a dragon flying on the first cloud photo flying towards the east, with his snout, and wings, and his belly almost floating away with the breeze. Ahhhh! Dragons! I love them! And I love the lavender sunset with the grapes. (Did I mention to you that my daughter’s name is Lavender?)(From an early Gordon Lightfoot song). Is that caviar for breakfast? Yummm!
I can almost smell the fresh air from the rain and hail…
Thank you for the magic you share with all of us.
    Tersa

  37. Moonfairy says:

Your photos are beautiful as always 🙂
Love the photo of the man in the sky. I always see dragons in the clouds myself. I should really try to take a photo of one of them one day.

  38. Jill Cooper says:

You take the most beautiful pictures! Have you ever thought about putting them in a book? Gorgeous!

  39. Ann says:

Love, love, love your entries. Tell me, what is the difference between Chinese and Italian flat-leaf parsley? Your pic looked like the latter, but you labeled it the former. Is it all the same? I have bunches in my garden. The only think I need to avoid is the confusion in appearance with cilantro, which I hate.

  40. These pictures are amazing! I really love the ones with the candles the best 🙂

  41. What a busy wonderful week! Your photos are fantastic. I would have feel in love with that tree, too. It is just fabulous!
