Plink, Plinketty Plink ~ Tiptoeing in..

Hello there!  I was swirling in a tidal wave and tried to get here sooner, but the sands of time held me back.  That and pretty things stealing my affections…

Oh the beauty in the drying flower.  I love it just as much I think, as the blooming…  Two kinds of love.  But love all the same.

Flower bliss

Anyhow, I was telling you of where I have been…

You see – there was a Par-Tee.  Last night, in the Gypsy Garden.  Mainly for man-boys, who had a ball and played all sorts of instruments.  We worked so hard towards this party over the last few weeks.  Fixing this and that – things we had not tackled for years.  I was busy being a fairy, setting up chairs and tables and stringing lights in trees.

Then I hid, totally exhausted & was watching Seven Pounds.

Gypsy party

However, one man-boy (Mister Lovee's band-mate) brought his lovely actress wife, and we joined the party, then escaped and sat on my bed and chatted so kindredly for hours – it was more than delightful indeed.  She got to peek around the studio, and proclaimed that being in my chaotic office to be and what not, was like being backstage in a theater.  So kind! She could have said "What a Whirlwind!"  Mannequins, dollhouses, packaging station etc.

A lovely night.  The boys were happy, and all ended dreamily…

I tried so hard to get here yesterday to share some wee faces that have been tugging on my pantaloons for several weeks.  They got paint this weekend, and I promised them a visit with you yesterday, alas, I made a pie crust promise…

So this morning, as I slept, I saw faint glows of pastry faces…

Ambrosia Tea Cake dreamscape

I thought I was dreaming.  A bunch of cake head faces lined up at the Patisserrie…

Group dreamscape

But the truth was, it wasn't a dream at all, the cake heads are here and ready to have a pastry fête.

And, last but not least, a little Pastry Love I had kept to myself, but know she wants to soar to new adventures…

Raspberry Cupcake Fancy

I am heading off to pop these wee faces in my shop in about 3 minutes…

Then, off to the tub in the yard and a little r&r this afternoon from weeks of a whole lot of hard work…

Practicing my Jackson Pollock moves?

Chores

Nope, that was just me and my big mouth amusing ourselves between rotten chores.  Like I said, we have done lots of things in the last couple weeks (luckily we had help too), re-doing the deck/porch floor, removing brush, oh the list is too boring and long to share.

Chores 2

I saw 3 raw wood gates, and thought they would look lovely on one side of the porch.  Ha, lucky for me and my bright ideas.  I spent 5 hours, coating these with oodles of coats of paint.  Why did I ever think I wouldn't be the one with that chore?  Silly girl…  But they look darn happy up on that porch, I tell ya…

Okay, off I go for now, See you sooooon!!

 🖤, V

PS:  Don't forget you can still download your free Mother's Day Cardlettes in this post.  Also, in my right hand side bar here, there is a section called "Free Treats."  All my printable downloads and free ideas are there for you to use.  In the Halloween cardlette section, you will find the PDF for the cardlette envelopes template I made up, which you can use for these Mother's Day Cardlette's too…  😉

  3. Chris says:

Thank you for your freebies. You are so sweet!
I like the bunny cream cheese sweetie. What does that mean? Hey, you should come up with a card showing that if you prefer one to the other, it means: this! Is that a bad idea? Well, this is why you are the shopkeeper and I am just the wisher!
I’m glad your party went well, and you found a new friend. You deserve a bit of rest now, don’t you? No fixing things for awhile!!

  4. Chris says:

  12. Lynda says:

Those look good enough to eat! lol…I really was confused on whether they were real cakes or not..but I figured it out after all of my drooling. They are very cute! I love them. Thats such an original idea 😀

  13. amanda says:

Berry Chocolate Truffle is one stylin’ little pastry. i do so love her hat.

  14. Erin says:

those cake faces have the most perfect pouts I have ever seen. they must precide over fancy baking sessions and make sure all is exactly right. I could have certainly used a cake face this week gracing my kitchen with her cakeliness – i might have had more successes!
I feel your painting pain – i’ve been repainting my cupboards – I’ve spread it out over the last two days, but even then I feel the pain and sacrifice in making old wood feel vibrant again.

  15. The cake faces are scrumptious (and I do love the word scrumptious..although I just don’t say it enough). Your fence will be lovely once painted. It must be completely hot there now..so go easy 😉
    Cheers
    Anji

  16. I can’t figure out which one I like best! They are all quite magical and perfectly delectable! You’ve been busy and created some precious cakes!

So it was musical instruments they were playing and not poker…whew!!! Such relief!!!
I had visions of piratie men tossing chips, throwing cigars, and all manner of mayhem, but musical instruments, how delightful and charming. To be serenaded all night long by strings. It must have been enchanting indeed!
Your Mister Lovee must be very talented with talented friends. And it sounds like you have a new friend too!!! How perfectly FUN!!!
I think I’m tired just thinking of all the fun you must have had.
Did you like 7 Pounds? I saw it and found it to be sad and depressing. Every life is worth living :).

  48. sadira says:

Ooh…just look at all those beauties! Can you believe that I was too late to snatch one? I can…it’s the S L O W internet problem at Foolsewoode, although it seems to be fixed for now (thank heaven’s for Rich, but to be fair all he did was walk in, turn on the computer and it all magically came to life again. Harumph!)
After taking a leisurely walk down in the basement of this silly house, I was looking around and thinking “gracious! There is SO much stuff around here…someone should DO something about that!” Luckily though, I think I shall now think of it as backstage somewhere…that makes it all feel much better!
