Of Water Droplets & Fur

Waking up to rain.

Grey skies.

What a treat in the hot sunnny desert.

Rain day, feels like a holiday.

Rain day 11

Drizzling all day makes us so happy!

Rain day 14

If you can bear it…

And, you won't mind socializing with me…

You might be seeing more of me here, rather than less.

There is a measure of sanity in taking photographs and chattering nonsensically it seems.

For me at least.

🙂

Rain day 4

I stood on the back porch, moist cool air.

Morning rain, not afternoon monsoon rain.

Very very interesting.

Droplets like gems, growing things so grateful.

Rain day 5

Dancing cheek to cheek…

Rain day 12

Counting loot.

Rain day 16

And collecting even more.

I think next year I will switch back to a proper pumpkin patch.

As the pumpkin explosion in my random seed planting this year has been insane, but oh so amusing.

Rain day 15

We stand on the porch, plink plink plop…

Rain day 2

Looking out.

A vintage scale sits there, I use it as a pot stand.

Rain day 6

The cistern overflows twice.

Rain day 8

Quickly everything that was brown turns green.

Are those pipes in the tree?

Why yes indeedy, Mister Lovee had to put them up there, as Matty (brown dog) was dragging them all over the place, obsessed with critters hiding inside and cutting up his face on the edges.  Nothing like seeing a little dog dragging a big huge heavy pipe down the driveway whilst attempting to bark inside.  Multitasking galore.

Rain day 3

We got soaked.

Dark morning has lingered.

It was wonderful.

Rain fluffed hair has a chance encounter with the 1980's (early 90's) treasure drawer.

When no earring was too jeweled or too big.

(nevermind the photo taking frown face)

I'll pull some others out, you will fall over they are so funny.

Is it wrong that, I am kinda liking them again???

I might even wear them to the dollar store.

Might being the operative word.

Rain day 1

Although, I saw Heidi Klum on t.v. and I dare say, giant blingy earrings are back?

Not that I really care what's in, but still, it's fun when old is new again.

The gnomes look on.

What must they think?

They're twins.

Obviously.

Rain day 7

The boys try on their ghost Halloween costumes.

Rain day 10

That, or they are just drying off.

Rain day 18

Don't take our picture! Youuuuu!

Rain day 9

Is there anything better than freshly crimped ear hair?

Rain day 17

I love that wet crimped look Miley gets.

Rain and fur…

Rain day 13

Looks like the bell needs some straightening out.

It was such a nice day.

If you wonder why it's so green, I live up in the hills/mountains at a higher elevation than Tucson.

That's why we get snow too.

Cooler air, and a tinge greener.

I have been learning lots of lessons.

You know, about this little thing called life.

Mister Lovee told me something amazing.

You know how when something stressful is happening, and you just feel like everything is wrong, and you are in pain and sadness and agony in your soul?

Well, Mister Lovee says…

"Pain is a part of life, suffering is self imposed."

He's talking about that emotional suffering that we put ourselves through.

Isn't that so true?

Of course, you have to feel emotions, and kick and scream and cry.

But, prolonging it is creating your own suffering.

And I am finding that suffering ain't for me.

It's so much worse to be sad and suffer, than to just fall backwards into faith.

The greatest lesson of the day.

Nothing is as we believe.

And better yet –

A proper perception change, lets you see under water.

Just like magic.

Only better.

Thanks for being out there.

Honestly.

Love, V

Sparkly heart

ps:  I am working on packaging sweet orders, thanks ever soooo much 🖤

pss: A dear friend sent me this this morning.  You may have seen it already, but I love it.

I for one would love to hear from you every day. In fact, I’d love to sit in your garden with you, drinking tea, watching the puppies play and chatting for hours. My pumpkin patch was a huge failure. So sad! But I really enjoy seeing yours. Your post yesterday really helped me come to terms with a huge decision that I’ve been battling with for a while now. And what you shared today that Mr. Lovee said, well…it’s put it in even better perspective. Enjoy that rain (and all the bling you want to wear!)
love & blessings (and kisses to the puppies!)

Yes please! I would love to hear from you everyday. Your words inspire me and so many others. Plus, it’s good to know that you are feeling more alive in your soul. You’re in control of your own heart.
How lovely to have a summer rain. It ALMOST rained here today. The temperature dropped from 102 degrees all the way down to 86 degrees in about 5 minutes. But alas ~ no rain. Just dusty wind. Now, it’s hot again. The air conditioner is struggling along….
I am counting the days until I see the pumpkins in my local grocery. Until then, I will simply visit your blog to get my pumpkiny-fix!

Blog away, girl! Yes, I think we can stand it! You have a way with words and photos – I look forward to every new post. And I’m with laura (comment #1).
Mr. Lovee is so wise. I am copying what he said, and the hilarious dentist/crown thing to hang on my bulletin board (alongside my BELIEVE card). I love your furbabies wrapped in towels – just precious. I happen to love cloudy/rainy days, and always thought I’m a little strange because of it.

  18. Linda Diane says:

Such a beautiful stroll through your rain-kissed out-of-doors, Vanessa! Oh, and those words telling us that you may be here more rather than less were music to my ears! I was afraid we would see you here less. Of course, you must evaluate day to day, and if at some point you need to disappear for a bit, we will understand. We will wonder if you are OK, but we will try to wait patiently just as you must patiently wait for the blessing of rain. : )
Praying for you still and thinking about you lots!

  21. Jenn says:

Wise man that Mr. Lovee. I am so happy you’re continuing to stop by with your sweet pups. Hearing from you with your beautiful photographs is sooo comforting.

  22. Marjorie says:

Oh you and your lovely pumpkins!! You are a magician gardener!! And your Lovee is very wise! I will try to remember those words, myself…..I’m big on self imposed suffering, alas. I’m sending you many warm thoughts from our little neck of the woods!! I’m glad you got your beautiful rain days!! : )

  23. missy says:

You’re finally going to get your crown..high time!!!

  24. Kathy says:

Well, well, well. I don’t visit for a while and you’ve gone and signed yourself up for surgery! I’m with you on the scary bit. I hate to be knocked out. But, really, being awake for surgery just ISN’t a good idea. Too easy to try to tell the doctor what you think he should be doing. THey don’t like that, much… Kidding.
Your Mister Lovee is a smart one, he is.
Take care kiddo. It’ll all go well. Do what they tell you and get yourself out of there asap. Home is where the healing is. THAT, I know. ;o)
    Big hugs from Chicago.
    Kathy

  25. Teeeheee… a little dog butt pic 🙂 <3
