I’m Back & Party Prep Madness Ensues!

Helooooooo there!  I am back and about to faint from the fact that we have a party in just a few days, eeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

Home 1

We had a fresh squeezed raspberry lemon-limeade of a time!  How was your weekend?

Home 5

On Father's Day, men congregated and chatted… (Did I ever tell you my 80 year old grandfather has virtually no white hair on his head? It's unbelievable.)

Home 10

We had our signature Mexican seafood cocktail (my grandma made it)…

Home 6

Not to mention the multitudes of other treats we munched on.  Mombie set up a buffet of deliciousness in the bar.  Steamed tacos and beans and amazing guacamole, lemon cake, chocoflan ~ oh, all sorts of things…

Home 9

I made the Paula Deen Tomato Pie, using my quiche crust.  But, instead of using all mayo for the topping, I used a half cup "whole" sour cream, and a half cup real mayo (instead of one cup mayo).  I added one extra tomato too.  It was really delicious, and best eaten cold (we decided).  I also made an asparagus quiche and the chocoflan.  It was a delightful time.

My beautiful aunt and her hubby & kids were also there and it was a ball.  As usual, everyone talking and carrying on.  The whole family is a hoot.  Every person is such a character, I wish you could hear them all…   (I didn't ask anyone if I could post their photos – I forgot- so, I am opting to leave them out for now 😉 I have this huge thing about not posting photos without asking the person first and showing them the photo)

My sis gave us gifts from London.  I thought she should let Mister Lovee keep her fab ring find.  She thought differently 😉

Home 13

Everyone needed a little siesta…

Home 11

My Mom and Dad have these incredible hydrangeas growing throughout the garden.  I wanted to steal this entire pot…

Home 8

We packed our car full on Sunday late afternoon and drove back home…  About an hour and a half drive, two hours if there is traffic…

Through Tumacacori –

Home 3

Can you believe this bed I just sitting out by a tree?  I love it.  Imagine it in a nice cozy cabin??

Home 4

Past Tubac…

Home 2

And back into Tucson, on our way to Catalina…

Home 7

And nowwwwwww, time for party planning.  I have nothing set up yet.  But I will ;)  Here is this week's irony.  You know how we never ever ever ever ever ever get rain?  It is supposed to rain all weeeeeek!! Just when I need to set up my party ;)  HAHhahahaa!  Well, it will help me go mad, and since it's a Mad Tea Party, I guess it's appropriate 😉

Off to work I go!

ps:  I have to tell you a story next time.  A story about how I saw a documentary, and never ever identified with someone so outrageously, haha!  Oh, my inner Karl Lagerfeld is alive and well.  SO funny…  I love the man!  He did this thing that was filmed, that is so me, I almost fell off my chair…  (the movie soundtrack is gooooood)

See you soooon 😉

pss: I hear thunder??  Oh no, it's a plane!!  Oh thank goodness.  No wait, it's thunder… No a plane…  Oh no, I'm going mad! 😉

  1. karin says:

    Welcome home again!
Just wanted to tell you I love, love, looove, your pictures. Do you have this wonderful camera, a great software picture editing program or is it just your talent for finding the right spot/light/mood? Really great!
    x Karin

  2. heheeeee!
Magical houses – and the dog made me yawn!
Today we FINALLY had t-shirt bare legs weather in Sweden!!!!!
Oh wow. The party is SOON. Lucky I don’t sleep much 😉

  3. What a magical place — that bed!!!

  4. tattingchic says:

That deer ring is magnificent. I’m glad that everyone had such a lovely day for Father’s Day! That is so sweet!
That is so considerate of you to ask permission and show the photo to the person you want to post on your blog. I think that is important, too!

  5. Corn says:

Seafood cocktail….I must have the recipe, I love the buffet, because I too am obsessed with food. Great photo of Tucson. Sounds like a lovely time 🙂 And the bed needs a McCabin….gorgeous.

  6. Paris Parfait says:

Lovely jubbly, as they say in England. 🙂 xoxox

  7. sadira says:

    I can’t believe it’s almost party time!!

  8. Shell says:

I hope this goes through. The picture of the beautiful dog yawning and the places you passed through are lovely.
I’m glad to hear your not ready either for the party. I have all these ideas. Just have to do them.

  9. deborah says:

I adore the deer ring on Mr. Lovee and think Sister should give it to him for Christmas! Cute about your Grandpa and no white hair. Last time I took my Daddy to the hospital, they asked him what color his hair was and he said “hardly there”. He is a cutie pie! I am SOOoooooo excited about the party…it’s like Christmas Eve! **blows kisses** Deborah

  10. What a special weekend! I love those beautiful shoes in the lady taking the siesta! Can’t wait for the party!

  11. Chris says:

    It’s not thunder!!!!!!
Hey, that blue chair and ottoman… can I have them?
You know, we’re coming out in a few weeks to Phoenix, and you know I could just drop by and get that chair and ottoman. You let me know.
It sounds like so much fun, yer Dad’s day!
p.s. If you want my number to let me know about the blue chair and footstool, just let me know. I’ll let you know.
Just heard the weather! Rain’s passed! Only sun, now!!

  12. Krista Komis says:

Your pictures make me swoon, I almost want to just pack my bags and move out to Arizona! *sigh* I too am going a bit mad, and I’ve kind of started on a cleaning frenzy and can’t stop! (People in the background yell, ‘drop that teacup and back away slowly!’) heeheee I want to laugh and jump and throw pillows in the air I’m so mad! *tick tock, tick tock* Mustn’t be late for that very important date….

  13. Cassandra says:

Oh those photos are so lovely!
You want me to tell you about how we set up for our mad tea party and it rained on us? Not to jinx you, but it was lovely nonetheless. And of course, you’ll find out all about it veeeeeeeeeeery soon 😉

  18. Pink Trees and Sunshine says:

It looks like you had so much fun!!! I’m glad I just ate dinner, or all that lovely food would be making me really hungry! Your beautiful photos really, really, really make me want to move to Tucson :~)

  19. Here’s a post with all sorts of deer rings. I’m partial to the Victorian Diamond & Garnet one, anything sparkly of course. ‘;)

Love the bed! During the last half of my honeymoon, my spouse and I stayed at a B&B in the Fredericksburg Texas Hill Country. It had a huge wooden tree trunk bed like that and was covered in a red velvet & roses comforter. Very romantic and cozy but it being outside -like the one you saw- would’ve been over the top spectacular!!

  20. ohohohohoh…
    you had a Pre-party
    with your family
    before the Mad party…
    🙂
    good practice
just go make all the same things all over again, why don’t cha?
    listen
    i like Lagerfeld, too
how he always wears those exaggerated pointy collar dress shirts
    so
is he hiding a double chin under there
    or what
    i can never tell…
    yes
    those wide white pointy collars
look sort of vampirella to me
but not necessary in a bad way
    just his Own Way…
    so what do you think?
    maybe
that is how one iconizies him/herself….
    you know pick one Thing
    and back it HUGE…
{{ oh dear now i will most*likely dream about those pointy pointy collars,
    i am off to bed }}

  21. raina says:

May I ask how you add the sparkles and such to your photos? Do you use photoshop?
    Really would like to know…
tiene una hermosa página … y su obra de arte es fantástico

  22. Amy says:

Mmm the raspberry lemonade/limeade looks amazing! Like a magic potion of summertime bliss.
I was rather looking forward to the rain. It got too hot to fast haha. I remember it barely sprinkling on Friday, but for me it just wasn’t enough.

My internet keeps going down and I am hoping it keeps coming back so I can keep checking on your inspirational party posts. Did I mention that your photos are so dreamy?
