Pumpkins and Bangles, Shoe Love and Wee Gourds, Cackles and Pointy Hats, Jump on, all Aboard!!

I am tickled!  I am thrilled!  I am doing triple backflips (in my mind).  I am so excited so many of you have signed up for our Halloween Party.  For some reason I was forseeing some lonely witch, on a dirt road in the desert, having a party for one.  Alas, you shall join me, Yippeeeee, Hoooray!!

Pumpkin_28

I updated the last post, with a new flyer link for those of you who do not have a white blog background.  Noone asked me to, but I thought it would look better 😉  I know, I am obsessive like that…

Also, you can continue to sign up.  I am already working on the links list.  So my head doesn’t pop off my body right before the festivities begin 😉

So, I have a question.  Was it a weird week, or was it just me?  I had to escape it and do some love things…  Like collect wee creatures…

Pumpkin_17_2

Pumpkin_18

The local shoppes are going to start sending a super tall mean guy to escort me out if I don’t stop asking, "When are your pumpkins coming in?"  But, I will keep asking as long as they keep responding with "I don’t know."  Luckily, the farmer’s market was a happy tiny pumpkin creature filled place…

I am a girl who can not say no to certain things.  If a certain gourd, makes goo-goo eyes at me, it’s all over, he is moving in 😉

Pumpkin_10

And, if he has brothers, it’s okay, they can move in too…

Pumpkin_12

I am beginning to think that my ability to have friendly relationships with inatimate objects is becoming a good thing.  Who needs complicated??  😉

Pumpkin_11_2

People ask me, you know, don’t you get lonely in your country world.  All that time spent alone?  And I am thinking, what, are they for real?  Didn’t they just hear the stories these ghosties had to tell??

Pumpkin_7

Like about the time, they were absconded by the Pirate??

Pumpkin_4

Tell me that I am not wrong in thinking that you share some of my insanity (which I really think is societies unrecognized version of sanity, but that is a whole other blog post).  Tell me, that you don’t peg something, and attach affection towards it like I did with these wee pumpkin creatures?

The market was in a tizzy because I was so adamant that the stem not be broken on this other wee little spicy guy.

Pumpkin_2

I held him through check-out.  I carried him with me in a little bag.  Please take care of the stem!  And see, he is in his new home, stem and all 😉

So, it is safe to say, this week’s escape from the real world, while keeping in the autumn mode, was spent enjoying some time with lil punkins & friends!!!

Aren’t lil’ punkins the cutest things ever??????

Pumpkin_9_2

King Bird thinks so too!

Pumpkin_6

I also couldn’t resist buying myself some flowers.  I just couldn’t.  They were so bright and lovely.  I guess I have a Spring Halloween Twist goin’ on here…

Pumpkin_22

Pumpkin_20

Pumpkin_19

I find it to be such a fulfilling wonderful feeling to pick up flowers for myself.  It makes me feel like I am being friends with me, and loving me.  Instead of being a meanie to my own self.

Pumpkin_21

Pumpkin_13

It might sound silly, but, to look at them, and know that I gifted them to myself is such a good thing.  Brought them home, trimed them up, put them in a vase.  A little love for me from me.  I think we have to do a little something nice for ourselves every so often…

My Mammie taught me that.  Nice sheets, nice towels.  Love yourself.  Stand up for yourself, be your own cheerleader.  All that fa la la stuff.  And it took me a long time to get it and apply it…  Maybe it just took growing up…  But I am glad she planted the seed, so I could grasp it and water it, when I was ready…

Pumpkin_14

I went into town today (to my house in town), to check on the witches and make sure they are waking up and getting their garments ready for our Halloween Fete!!

Socks, pointy shoes, bloomers… Check!

Pumpkin_34

Hats…  Check Check!

Pumpkin_35

This gal is also having her scary witch mask waxed for the event…

Pumpkin_27

I chose a few bakelite bangles for the dress up event.  Even though I have most of my faves here in the country with me…

Pumpkin_30

Everytime I go to my in town lil’ home, I feel like I am in wonderland.  I forget all the treasures I have to play with…

I even decided to let you into my very very very very secret silly bangle play dress-up drawer…  You can choose anything you want to play with 😉

Pumpkin_29

While I was at it, I restocked on some major staples… Shoes!  I have a hearty collection that are all but forgotten, so I decided to bring s’more to the country with me…

Pumpkin_31_2

I don’t even know what is in or out.  I just wear what I like, which scares my sis sometimes.  So, I packed the bag full.  Oooo, I forgot I had these…

Pumpkin_32

And then unpacked when I got to the country…

Pumpkin_33

Who knows?  What if a nice oger wants to take me out dancing this week? (hint hint)  Hmmm, strange shadows…

Pumpkin_26

I have to be prepared…

Little did I know that the kind oger himself, had treats to add to my pumpkin and gourd collection.  He hid them behind his back.  I never would have guessed what he was hiding 😉  He is too funnnnnny!!

Here is a bad night photo. Thank you Mr. Loveeeee, they are perfectly cute!  I guess, a cornucopia will be in store at some point this fall…

Pumpkin_24

So there you have it…  Catch up, of the long silly version.  The next time I come to visit you, I will have some extra fun goodies!!  Little elvies and creatures I made in July.  I am just finishing painting them.  Time got away from me.  But, yes more elves and other super secret characters will be in the shop sooooooon!!  Just a few days 😉

Pumpkin_37

Make sure you stay in the fun Halloween Dress-up mooooooood!!  I can only tell you that, things are getting spookier around here by the minute.  Don’t worry, it won’t get very spooky 😉

Pumpkin_1

Feel free to continue signing up for the party.  Just let me know you are joining in, and make sure you leave me your correct blog link…  Here are the details if you are just joining us…  The more the Cacklier!!

See you real soooooon!!  Elvies and such, next time I visit 😉

🖤, V

And I just adore all those stylish shoesies and sparkley jewels too!!! Oh pretty, pretty 🙂

  13. Lorrie says:

Taking the time to treat yourself is a wonderful way to live. I think that often women in particular, don’t do that. I do it regularly and encourage my daughters to do so, too.
Great bling – love all the shoes!
    Lorrie

  14. sadira says:

Oh my…that drawer of bangles is just lovely…I don’t know if I could even begin to choose, and think I would have to sit and just try them on over and over again…

  15. Deborah says:

May I say that I absolutely ADORE you. Your creative genius awakens dreams in me that I had long forgotten. Your blog, to me, is like string to a cat…I see it and I just HAVE to play. An odd week indeed…what a joyous discovery I found in you, my magical Muse. **blows kisses**

  16. Kandes Lee says:

You can have Sprautunm if you like … It is easy to mix your seasons up in Arizona. Here in Phoenix, it will be summer until Halloween day. That is always our first day of weather where you might need a light sweater or something. I am looking forward to it … 100 degrees + is getting old!!!

  17. marjorie says:

OH yes!! Buying yourself little pretties now and then is most important, I’ve found! 🙂 I tend to be of the pretty sweater or stocking gifting sort, myself!! 😉
But oh, are we ever in need of new towels….there’s an idea for my next shopping trip!! 🙂
what dainty gourds and punkins!! HOORAY FOR FALL!!

  18. Vanessa,
So much to comment about on this post. I love all the lovely pumpkin friends you brought home. I too am one that make items my friends and sometimes catch myself talking to them.(Does this make me crazy?) Love the corn what a sweet surprise, it is like flowers but they last longer.
I love what your Mammie told you and too many of us take too long to figure this one out. Smart lady!
T love the flowers the colors are just stunning.
Okay on to the shoes and bangles! LOVE them. I am a nut about jewelry. I use to be a fashion merchandiser and loved the clothing lines (my oldest is named after Coco Chanel). I just love classic fashion. So what all are we to do at the Halloween Party? I am looking forward to it.
Have a great Friday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

  19. karen cox says:

    Oh Miss Vanessa,
I loved this post. Your mother taught you wonderful essentials to cherish who you are. This week was filled with winds of change that I would rather not thing about, and so I also escaped into my land of imagination and creating. I love how you capture images and words that peek into your imagination. I love those little pumpkins too. When my girls were little every year I put three pumpkins on my stoop, a fat one, a tall skinny one and one of those little pumpkins. I painted their little faces as if they were singing at the top of their lungs. My pumpkin trio. Have a wonderful weekend. Karen

  20. Sonya says:

Could you say you are Off Your Gourd as far as pumpkins are concerned? Ha ha ha! I know how you feel. I have a deep and abiding love for pumpkins. And all your lovely bangles! So delightful!

  21. Love it, love it all!!! From pumpkins to those spectular shoes and all in between!!!
I do speak to objects….I even think they have little souls. If I choose something from a bunch of the same thing (say in a store)- even though one might be slightly off I always have to stick with the first one I touched. Now anyone reading this is going to think I’m totally off my trolly. I am an odd one but that’s what makes us unique, right? (I say us because I KNOW you get it)
Um, when I get to one day visit you I want to play with those bracelets, k? FAB-U-LOUS!!
Can’t wait for the party……I’m already working on ideas.
    XOXOXOXOXOX
P.S. You are spot on about doing things for ourselves, I love to buy myself flowers.

  22. Catherine says:

Those bangles are fabulous – love how you’ve got them all organised. And always remember a lady can never have enough shoes! Still no pumpkins in Scotland.

  23. LiLi M. says:

Ohhhh this is soooo exciting! I’m sooo looking forward to that party! And of course I’ll come back here to see your next post, giveaway or not! But better giveaway to be honest!
    Have a great weekend!

  24. *~KRiSTa~* says:

Love all your photos & the little pumpkins are fun, aren’t they? (More to display, hehe) I was wondering, in photo #8, where did you get the skeleton hand? (I want one!)
    xoxo

  25. Kris says:

    Vanessa,
I see you are displaying the much coveted “white pumpkins” (which I am unable to locate in Texas. I love the witch and the creative way you talk about Halloween. I love the shoes too. Thanks for the thoughtful comment you left on my blog regarding the death of my daughter-in-law. Things have settled down somewhat and soon I will post something on my blog about the whole situation. Keep Josh, Isabella and my son in your prayers.

  35. allie says:

What fun it is to visit your blog! I agree with you completely about buying flowers for yourself. I do it, too. It makes me feel special and loved and just makes my world more beautiful. Sometimes I buy flowers to put in my classroom and the kids like it as much as I do! What wonderful photos you take….I must come by more often.

  36. 3rdEyeMuse says:

the way you share your happenings makes my heart grin.

  37. Kathy says:

Very fun post! Can’t wait for the Halloween party, I will be there : )
    Kathy

  38. Laura says:

Your party preparations look such fun, I am just jealous that I can’t join in, so I’ll have to catch up on all the festivities the following weekend. (I did try to explain to my bo that although his birthday is very important, this event is a world wide collective a halloweeniness, but he insisted that he comes first!)

  39. I would love to come to the party! Whopee! I can’t wait:) Thanks for hosting…

  40. Nancy says:

Miss Fanciful, we are more alike than I ever even imagined! I so pity the fool who happens to break the stem off any pumpkin I adore! But my FAVORITE pumpkin stems have “hair” and it had best stay on the stem until after Halloween to be sure!
I sooo love Fall…I have ginormous pumpkins galore decorating my house both inside and out (LOTS of rain this year = HUGE pumpkins!)….beautiful Mums….gourds on the mantle….Indian corn on my front door…I am loving FALL!!
Shoes, what’s in and what’s out? Ahh…this is what I love about fashion today. NOTHING is “in” or “out”. If it’s from a few years ago…it’s “vintage” and even more desirable. To each his own and this is how it always should be! 🙂
Can’t wait for the next shop update!!!

  41. waterrose says:

Too cute tiny pumpkins! and chile. I just heard on the news that pumpkins are available in Wilcox…but they are tre expensive this year. Maybe we could take round watermelons and turn them into carved pumpkins…LOL

  42. Jaclyn says:

Just curious as to what camera you use.

  43. Gina says:

  46. Heather says:

    Michelle

  48. shiborigirl says:
