Year after year I plan to make some super easy, fun and crafty ghosties. And year after year, I plum forget. But really I ask, what is Halloween without proper wee ghosties floating about?
Oooooooooooo…
You all know how to make these, I am certain.
There is nothing to them at all.
Alas, when a person wants to check out, into crafty bliss, a super easy craft hits the spot. Just what I needed this evening.
So, into my haunted cottage studio I went…
I gathered white fabric scraps, doilies, hot glue gun, ribbon and cotton balls…
I cut white fabric scraps into about 5" x 5" squares…
Then I took about 4 cotton balls, and placed them in the center of my fabric square, and then simply gathered the fabric together, like so…
Then I tied the ghostie shut with a ribbon, voila!
My ghosties wanted doily collars.
So, I took a doily and cut the center out, then I cut the doily rim into 4 pieces…
I then ran a bead of hot glue under the neck tie, going all the way around. One piece of my cut doily went perfectly around one ghost neck, gathering a little bit as I went around.
Then I used a sharpie to make oval eyes and an oval mouth…
I was not in the mood to search for my fishing line, so I hot glued a bit of white string to the tops of my ghosts, for hanging.
And just like that, ghosties flew in for the season!
It's the simplest little projects that bring the spirit of the season to life, don't you think?
Boy I needed that.
Boooooooo!
I can't even believe it is going to be October.
This time, all of a sudden creeps up so fast, doesn't it?
I am getting so party excited!!!!
I am so delighted so many are signing up, and there is still oodles of time for more to jump on the wagon 😉
I must go take part in the wrestling match with my pups! They are having so much fun without me, see you sooooon!
Love, V
ps: My Ipod in the studio was playing Beirut as I typed this. I could faintly hear it in the office. I had forgotten all about it, as I had not heard them in so long! Soooo gooood! Such a nice treat to refind music you love.
pss: Thank you for sending positive thoughts for Coco (my friends' furry family member). I will keep you posted. Heartstrings.

So adorable! I must make a ton of these and scatter them around my home 🙂
Love the ghosties with the doily collars Vanessa! It’s just the Perfect touch! Love quick ideas! I am staying hopeful and continue to pray for Cocos safe return! <3
fantastic!!!
Cute! They bring back fond memories of tootsie pops lollies made to look like wee ghosties like these….and given out to classmates and friends!
Ahhh….I love Halloween!
OPlease know that I left a comment to sign up for your wonderful party! It’ll be my 1st year participating though I have done the Mad Tea Party twice…
I’m just soooo excited!
I hadn’t heard of dear Coco…I must go read your previous post 🙁
Aw theyre cute!!
Something not too scary for the smallest ones.
Wishing you a lovely autumn day.
The ghosties are soooo cute. Love them, and you are right…they are perfect for the little ones and big ones too..
Prayers still being sent for Coco.
The doilies really made these something special! I am with you on the excitement for halloween and all that October brings and I am making big plans for your party. If you don’t mind me asking, how do you get those little orbs of light in your photographs? Is it with your camera or some type of photoshopping?
Ghostly hugs,
Lisa
It’s still summer here in Holland and a little bit early for a winterthing, but I can see the fun you can have with your ghosties!! hugzz..peebee
Patty, I know how you feel 😉 The weather temperatures are going to be 85-90’F for the next month here. But, I am still having a bit of fun preparing ghosties for Halloween, which is in one month 😉
Winter seems ages away still. The weather in Arizona is getting so beautiful. Which really is the reason to live in Arizona, for every season, besides summer 😉
Lisa, the orbs happen naturally, they are magic orbs, don’tcha know?
hahaaaaa 😉 Just kidding. I actually designed my own digital magic in photoshop. I never thought they would be so liked. 😉
Miss Linda, thank you for still praying for Coco. I cant stop
thinking about her. And, I dont understand why someone has not called
about her yet. Whoever has her, has no idea that she will fade fast
without her medication. Oh, my heart, I hope she makes it home
too!!
Linnea-maria, you are so right, not too scary. And easy as pie
😉
Heloo Miss Eleni!!! 😉
Kelly, thank you as well for keeping the positive thoughts about
Coco. I cant think of how I would feel if one of my furry boys was
missing. I wouldnt be able to cope. Sigh……… Thank you
for staying hopeful, I will do the same too.
{whoosh, whoosh… tap tap tap} Eh hem, testing testing… Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls in this corner we have Vanessa and in that corner we have Miles and in the other corner we have Matty… DING! DING!! DING!!! Let the games begin. Have big time furry wrestling fun. :o)

P.S. I posted Coco’s pic and info on my facebook. I’m in Gilbert but hopefully friends of friends in Tucson area will see and keep their eyes peeled. Thoughts and prayers continue.
Oooo . . . such a fun ghostie craft! They are adorable- love your “orbs”, too! Hopeful wishes for Coco this morning 🙂
Hi Miss Valencia!! How cute your ghosts are!! I am making similar ones too!! What a coincidence!! Yours are so lovely and cute!!:) Mine aren’t hanging, but are made out of tissue paper, lollipops, yarn and also black marker. I hope to upload the pictures soon!!
I am so excited for Halloween!! This year I am making many home made decorations. I took inspiration from you and your lovely stars and I made some black ones with gold paint to decorate them.
Take care!!!
Kim
Missy V, horribly concerned about Coco. Since she’s on meds, have the authorities been notified to keep a look-out. God, I hope so. tpl
I have one foot in canning peaches and jam and the other one into Halloween!
My baby boy (6 lb chihuahua) got out of a hole in our fence & my neighbor went outside to get a better cell phone connection and just happened to see him running like the wind across the street…..I always bragged that I knew where my dog was at all moments – a definite wakeup call and hopefully, Coco has a guardian angel also!
What a charming haunted dollhouse….love that the door is cracked open ever so slightly…..
ADorable ghosties! I’ll definitely make them this halloween.
They are SO sweet, Vanessa!!!! And I just love their cute faces. I think I shall have to make some!!! xoxo
Wow that is such an ingenious idea! Haha I am very jealous that I had not come up with something so simply brilliant 🙂 Like you said, after all, there is no Halloween without wittle ghosts floating about!
I will definitely be making some of those for my Halloween party! Oh, and…an interesting discovery! I am going to include a fortune telling segment at my Halloween party, and my mom actually has real tarot cards I can use! I had no idea! More on my blog coming sooon 😉
Also, I will be posting a little treat for anyone who wishes to send out a Happy Halloween card for the season. As soon as I have the time to get it up there, it’s going up there, period!
Thanks for the ideas and inspirations! You are amazing!
Hugs and hexes,
Jessica

Such cute and posh ghosties, Miss Vanessa! And I love that you can SEE how they fly with the string!!! A fun and great project!
Keeping your friends’ Dear Coco in my thought today and hoping to hear good news.
With hugs,
Betty
Oh, I love your wee ghosties and the sweet touch of the proper doily collars! Sometimes a craft that is nice and simple is just soothing to work on. Don’t you agree?
Thinking of precious Coco and praying.
