Here comes Halloween…

Hello helooo!

My favorite time of year is here.

Only thing is, we are in an extended summer so it's hard to convince me that it's October.

Still, I'm playing with pumpkins and having some fun.

Here comes halloween 1

I've been very busy with real world things.

Like endless classes to keep up my license from my previous career.

I've kept it going for 15 years, no sense it letting it lapse now.

It's good to have in your back pocket.

But the every two year courses are brutal (boring and lonnng) and as you know, I'm rotten and don't like the real world.

I'd much rather play and sip tea and paint and draw and have a jolly ole time.

Good news is, I'm done until 2018, woo hooo!

So, I hereby proclaim full Halloween immersion beginning now.

I intend to watch endless spooky movies and live in a pumpkin the next week and a half.

Here comes halloween 3

I have so many fond memories of childhood Halloween.

It was like a block party of costume magical goodness.

All the family members got involved, it was so much fun.

Every house was decorated, everyone joined in.

And, it was safe.

Like a giant harvest festival of dreams.

That's pretty much why I love Halloween so much.

All the good memories and enchantment of it all.

It was such a wonderful time in my childhood, so I adore it.

Here comes halloween 2

My dining room has been very pastel the last month.

Probably because it's so hot still, that the autumn transition has not yet taken place.

I wanted autumn fun but adapted it to hot days colors.

However, it's time to spookify things a bit.

Here comes halloween 4

Soooo, here I go!

Into Halloween goodnesssss.

Lots of folks have asked about the Halloween party this year.

I know, it's really kind of like, were out of time?!?

Ooops!

Let's do the time warppppp!

I've just been so busy and I'm still tending garden full time because of the heat.

I feel like I'm in an odd time warp of endless summer.

I'm ready for a vacay from summer.

I'm soooo excited for chilly days to find us desert dwellers somehow.

It's time for a break from the land of endless sun.

I'm melttiiiinnnggggg (insert cackle).

Can autumn find us before the 31st?

I sure hope so!!

Love, Vanessa

See you soon a fanciful twist 300px

Google photos does what happened on this day. They showed the Halloween Party you had from two years ago. Maybe next year? I promise I’ll tell the Autumn weather here to head out west to give you sweater weather and crunchy leaves.

Everything looks so festive I totally get the studying thing I just had to refresh my Real Estate License loads of boring topics but like you it’s done and behind me! I too am hoping for cooler temps.

My mom and I went to a Victorian tea party and seance at a cool antique emporium/metaphysical shop. Here are the pics:

Ugh, reality and tests. I’m there with you, only I’m not finished with mine yet. I have a few more to do to and then my Pharmacy Technician license will be good for the next two years. Hurrah!
Like you, I’ve been putting off Halloween and last night I finished decorating my porch for the Trick or Treaters. Tonight I’m making Sp0oKy goodies for a charity bake sale we’re having at the pharmacy. There will be Day of the Dead decorated cookies and Graveyard dirt pudding cups. When I complete things, I’ll come back and share photos with you. 🙂

  6. My daughter and I were looking at your pumpkins yesterday on Instagram and they were making us so happy….we love them!

  7. Roostah says:

Well I’ve done just the opposite! I decorated –you know, with purple lights and manzanita branches covered in spiders and webs and jars with curious things and big mean-eyed black owls and spooky skeleton hands…and Sunday….
I took it all down. Whatwhatwhat?
It wasn’t what I felt like. 🙂 I feel bright and happy — though your pastels are beautiful — so I’m redoing it all right now, for Day of the Dead! Lots of golds and oranges and turquoises and deep greens !!!
Wolfboy thinks I’m loco. He’s probably right. 😀
But I watched Hocus Pocus and the old old Jekyll and Hyde and we TIVO’d all the old Draculas and Frankensteins and I’ve asked for Halloween and the day after off, because I believe. <3
OH MAN! Halloween when I was a kid was fun! I mean getting candy was ok but not the highlight! We always seemed to live in neighborhoods with competitive fathers so there were ALWAYS haunted houses, including ours! and my elementary school would always let me and my pals fix up the stage in the cafeteria as a haunted house. We were nutso for Halloween. And crepe paper to boot, haha!!
Slow down enough to enjoy your halloweenies! xoxoviixoxovii roostah
(PS - did you watch the TV version of Rocky Horror Picture Show? I TIVO'd it but haven't yet!)
