I tried with all my might to craft today. I have been suffering from an unknown cause of off and on Vertigo for a mere 48 hours. Trust me, if you want to make the ugliest little crafty things try doing it while the room is spinning upside down, and your head and stomach feel like they have only felt those rare times you had one too many cocktails.
Remember the time you had to sleep on the floor with your cheek to the cool tile, right in front of the Porcelain God? Yes, well, that has been how I have been feeling, but without the benefits of never being able to even so much as get a faint whiff of Tequila without getting the chills. And, more importantly without the benefits of having had a movie quality night on the town. I have nothing to blame it on. Nothing. It just appeared a few nights ago at 3a.m. What misery. Even so, I got up all the force, after a heavy dose of Dramamine, to make some Valentine's. Yes, they are ugly. However, if you happen to be a person who receives the "Vanessa's Vertigo Valentine," feel very lucky. The love I put in and the pain and agony it took is worth the ugliness of the creature.
I think the woozier I felt, the more I added glitter and little old granny things to the mix. Trust me, I adore grannies, they are the angels of the earth. Mine is the bestest most wonderful ever. But, remember, I was acting like a drunk 89 year old granny attempting to maintain her balance in fur high heeled slippers, who had had 22 screwdrivers by 10:00 a.m. and was switching to the hard stuff.
Don't mind my laundry in the above pic. I take that darn basket from place to place trying to remember to do a dark wash. Not today. All I was interested in was the sparkly stuff. I thought glitter could fix anything. Not me. Not today.
As I was attempting to craft I got a little visitor, Cinderella. I had e-mailed her to come while I was feeling better. Sadly, I was now feeling bad again and wanted to partake in the fun she had brought in her Frida Market bag. Nothing like a little sis to visit you in the boonies and help lighten your mood. Especially when she is funnier than the word itself. My music was making her, as she said "feel like she needed to leave" so she connected her Ipod and it livened up the place.
Isn't that fun stuff she brought to share. Oh, look at that amazing bag she made on the bottom right of the pic just above. She is an amazing clothing + handbag creator. I fed her some of that lovely puffed honeycomb stuff I rave about…and a cup of lovely coffee.
I had little success with a teeny tiny 3 tiered cake plate. It is sideways, just the same way I am seeing everything, tilted.
This is all I can muster up for now. I think I might find myself under the covers for a couple of days or at least until I feel better. Also, very important, I can not find my Black Apple pirate girl anywhere. See her sitting on the chair ledge??? Now she is gone.
I will keep looking but it is like the lost keys. Nowhere to be found!!! I hate loosing things!!!It is not like she could have diappeared into thin air???
I have to run. I am not well, but I promise to bring some more interesting and educational material as soon as I feel a wee bit better. Not just the happenings in my psycho glitter disaster studio.

Hmmmm… you’re the third person I “know” (okay, so you and I have never met, don’t mind that) who has come down with crazy nausea/vertigo. I hope you feel better soon!
Oh no, dear heart. I hope you feel better soon. You might want to go to the doctor, because vertigo can be a sign of an inner ear infection. And your Valentine’s are lovely! Don’t think otherwise. I bet your pirate girl is just on the floor around where she sits. You just might not notice since you are feeling ill.
I am so sorry you are woozy, today is my last day off before I become a full-time theatre vampire,so I’ll be scarce for a bit too.Love the vals with glitter and granny goodies!
Ick…I was hoping I did not pass on the crud through either blogger osmosis, or the strict diet of chocolate and coffee…I may be taking a break from that soon (sigh. It has been quite intense around here…I think the Superhero is on his way out…how short lived he was…I knew I shouldn’t have put his picture on the blog! and how very very sad I feel…I don’t know if glitter will even cheer me up) However, it looks as though you and the sis had a lovely time, and don’t you just treasure a girl that brings her own music with her?!
Maybe the pirate girl ran off with the circus?
oooh, Ms. V you must take care of yourself!
Feel better, you sweet pea. You certainly deserve to feel nothing but top-notch, especially after slaving away over ugly-sweet Valentines whilst in the throes of a non-alchoholic hangover.
xoxo

my granny acted like that all the time, though istead of screwdrivers it was Manhattans with cherries in the bottom, which she would let me eat when she was done her drink…I can still hear her telling my parents “Don’t be mad, fruit is good for her”
oh, that was a ramble.
please feel better, now I am worrying about my non related sis.
xoxo
Go have some recreation time, and come back and make us feel welcome, as always !!!!!
maybe pirate girl ran off to join Jack Sparrow’s Black Pearl band of misfit pirates….hee!
feel better soon girl…lay off the chocolate for a few days and nibble on something super duper healthy..
and your Valentines’ are NOT in the least ‘ugly’! I for one would be pleased as punch to receive one.
There seems to be a funky stomach bug going around. You take care of yourself and take it easy!
Oh honey….your valentines are beautiful….even if you were dizzy….which I hope you are no more….glitter does make anything feel better and look wonderful….I occasionally sprinkle a little on myself before going to work…you know…I want people to think I have sparkling personality….plus….it takes the emphasis off the dark circles under my eyes from a late night of creating art…..
Hope you are feeling yourself again real soon!
smooches!

Get well soon honey, the whole vertigo thing sounds vile. Great post though; the things we bloggers have to go through for a fab post, sigh!
Oh my goodness I’m soo sorry that you feel so unwell, but I have to say that you write about it in such a funny, stylish way that it actually sounds fun. Hope your feeling better.

Oh dear, that’s the second person I visited today not feeling well 🙁 Get well soon, hopefully Cinderella’s magic has healed you somewhat. I noticed the clutch on her blog, it really is amazing. Love your cup and saucer too.
This is hilarious – even though I know you weren’t feeling well… I hope you are better today or at least soon! Love the ‘moving laundry basket’ and lil-Pirate girl (may she find her way home soon…). Your photos remind me of what ‘Alice’ might have looked like crafting down in her rabbit hole…
oooh, no! feel better soon, lovely vanessa!!!!
and for what’s it’s worth i think your vertigo valentines are lovely! 🙂
you know – I get real OBSESSIVE when I lose things – even if it isn’t that important – I just get consumed with looking – and often I find the other thing I was obsessively looking for before – you know? – hope you are better – I like the valentines even better round 2 – I LOVED your story – and you are so sweet – xox – eb.
You poor thing – my granny suffers from vertigo all the time – you need a cool dark room and lots of rest…

Your valentine isnt that ugly! haha you are too cute!!
Hope you found Pirate girl!
