Welcome Magical October with a bit of A Fanciful Twist

One of my favorite months is upon us, and I have been feverishly working away, creating every minute of the day for weeks. Sculpting clay, adding layers of paint and of course, magic sparkles for good measure.

I had attempted to have this year’s sculptures available on October 1, alas, they took much longer than planned. So much love and time goes into each piece as I hand-sculpt each one from scratch.

There are many steps from sculpting to firing, to painting many layers, to staining and varnishing, and then the glittering at the end.

I listen to audiobooks and Halloween stories as I work away.

I wish you could see them in person, as some of them are quite heavy and no photo can do them justice.

My lovely little creatures keeping me company for weeks, until I set them free.

I had requests for my pumpkins and pink ghosts this year…

And this pumpkin face below has really stolen my heart.

Somehow whilst watching many old interviews and shows about Ozzy Osbourne, I somehow created a wee pumpkin that captures Ozzy’s smile.

So of course, we have Ozzy Pumpkin at your service.

A sweet little Kitty girl with a pet star, looking up to have her photo taken.

The moon even showed up for the festivities, accompanied by two clouds.

Everyone dressed up for the magic that comes with October.

Of course, pink ghosts would not miss the party…

And all the pumpkins made sure to wear extra fairy glamour on their stems (also known as glitter).

This piece is very substantial and extra lovely in person.

I can’t ever imagine being as photogenic as a happy Jack-o-Lantern.

The moon has so many wonderful layers of blue around her collar.

And the pumpkin tree made sure to bring some mushrooms along.

Because really, what is October without shroom-nog anyways?

Hooray for Octobers!

How I love this wonderful month.

When the mornings are cool and evening begins early, which is just perfect for twinkle light season.

The only thing I wish is that time wouldn’t fly by so quickly.

To be able to access and read everything from the past is still unreal to me.

I’m still in shock that we were able to save everything and still be here.

You can not imagine how my heart wells up when I think about it.

But, before I get too sappy, as I am wont to do, I will simply toss glitter in the air and invite you in for candy corn popcorn and whatever hot drink you fancy.

The sculptures are ready to fly on to new adventures and homes.

PPS: I meant to be here 3 days ago, but I had an unexpected bad bout of vertigo which I do have on rare occasion and have experienced since I was 17 years old after I fell off a horse. Luckily it only happens once in a blue moon, but it is atrocious. Starting to feel much better, hooray!
