Autumn.
Hello there.
It’s so nice to see you…
Garden chores of the longest summer slowly come to a close.
Warm still, in the desert.
But I feel it.
The change, the shift.
The season moving on is felt in early morning and night hours.
I tasted the autumn air tonight.
I knew it was near.
Time for the magic to creep in.
Why such magic in autumn?
I am not certain.
But, I know it is here.
Summer is light and exhausting in its heat.
Autumn brings time to make and bake and create.
We light candles in the gypsy wagon…
Playing outside by night can happen now.
As the heat flutters away.
Gypsy garden is here to stay.
For months, who knows?
But here it is.
Strange, but true.
How did summer go by so fast?
I can not grasp the fact.
But autumn, how more than delighted I am to see you!
I get good chills, with thoughts of what is to come.
We all make our own magic, after-all.
How will you make your magic, will you tell?
What does the new season bring for you?
The herb collecting is in full force.
Hanging to dry.
Plants begin to go to seed.
Time is so strange, isn’t it?
It flows, flows flows flows.
Never stopping.
Not even for a short break.
So, we must do that ourselves.
Let’s make a pact.
Not to forget.
Time to breathe in, and out.
Awareness.
Collecting.
Feeling.
Loving.
Being.
I suppose it’s time to dust the hat.
Shine up the broom.
(oh oh oh, excitement in belly!)
It’s that time of the year when things start to move really fast.
But I vow to take some time to do really important things.
Like roast marshmallows.
And did I mention?
I have been plotting and planning our next Halloween party?
Why yes, indeed!
I didn’t, couldn’t, wouldn’t ever forget that.
No way.
Party details coming beyond soon!
Happy autumn welcomings!!

First day of autumn.
Isn’t it wonderful to get to have a first of something each year, over and over again?
I love that.

As always – I love your pictures, and that witch’s hat is great! Autumn is fully here now, with rain, leaves on the ground and 10 degrees (brrr).
Happy Autumn to you! I love this time of year.
Especially in Oct., I think there’s something magical in the air.
It’s hard to describe, it just feels different!
You’re right about time going fast. Oct., Nov., & Dec. go by so, so fast!
We need to slow down & smell the …… pumpkins!? Candy corn? Cider?
Or, all of the above!
Your Autumn and Halloween photos are (each year) some of my absolute favorites.
Take Care,
Deborah
Beautiful photos Vanessa..Each one would make the perfect postcard.Love your posts..always makes me smile.. 🙂

Laura, oh yes smell all of the above for sure!! Hoooray!!! I
think this time of year goes by do fast for me because autumn really does not
arrive here until late November. So Halloween always feels intangible,
which is probably why I do it up sooooo big. To try to grasp a
smithereen of it, you know what I mean?? 😉

Autumn is my favorite time of year, possibly because I’m an October baby. The first time I read this blog, it was the Halloween Extravaganza of 2008. I have been hooked ever since. I couldn’t believe my eyes and told everyone I know “you have to see this amazing blog!” Can’t wait for the latest Halloween party!
Happy autumn 🖤
Es mi estacion del año favorita.
Por aqui,en el hemisferio sur comenzamos la calida y alegre primavera.

You are so right Vanessa!!!! I know Autumn is on its way because this is the first day the leaves on our huge tree in my backyard dropped several leaves as the morning breeze blew by. I was sooo happy I shouted out, “Autumn is HERE!” Bring on the Fanciful Magic!!!!!! ; )
You capture the seasons so beautifully, always! Yours is by far, the most magical blog, miss Vanessa! <3
Summer flew by so fast I didn’t even realize that today is the very first day of Autumn! Thank you for the reminder. Yay! (I think summer fried my brain.) Autumn is my most favorite of seasons. Maybe because my birthday is the day after Halloween and I always get that wonderful feeling of anticipation for my birthday and the mysteriousness of Halloween. Those two things combined makes me giddy like the Halloween scene in ‘Meet Me In Saint Louis’ with Judy Garland when the children were dressed up and doing ‘tricks’ to the unsuspecting neighbors. What a fun movie! Those were the days….
Did you say PARTY!!!??? YES!!!
=^..^= MEOW!!!
a first of something each year, over and over again
I LOVE THIS THOUGHT
Yes, it is in the air here in Michigan..cold and crispy nights. 60’s and sunny during the day. Awesomely autumn.
Your photo’s are amazing. Cant wait for Halloween, and have started decorating already.
Oh yes, how can I forget? The Robins have left the scene.
Happy Fall Ya’ll! Okay…I’m going to speak my mind. I think I love visits to your Gypsy Wagon best.
Love your Autumn preparations and your Gypsy Wagon is so delightful! How I wish for a Gypsy Camp just outside my door, a place to dream.
So nice to catch up Miss V!
We are steadily shifting into autumn here, too, at an alarming rate, which means that winter will probably usurp it by next weekend;)
Lovely to peer into your world once again x
What a gorgeous autumnal post. I’m getting so excited about the Halloween Party! Bonfires, toffee apples and spooks, I bet it’s going to be great….
Oh and want to let you know I’ve just started a new blog, this one inspired by the visual arts: http://www.kikiandthegypsy.co.uk
Look forward to partying with you all again soon! x
ooops got the link wrong, it’s:

I have been so looking forward to Autumn this year, maybe because last year I was just going through the motions…trying. Looking forward to planting geraniums in my blue pots outside my wee villa, and EVER so happy that someone else scalped the grass and put in winter seed, and not me, like last year. Downsizing does have its advantages!
**happy smiles** Deb
I’m so excited for your upcoming Halloween party! Cannot wait! I’ve been thinking about it since August!!!
My little girl and I had so much fun doing the Mad Tea Party for the first time this year – we are now anxiously awaiting the Halloween. party!
