Treats & Tales {+ New Prints}

Heloooo there!  I meant to be here yesterday.  I think I am having a timing glitch.  Time seems to be passing by faster than ever.  Anyone else experiencing the same thing?  Maybe it is because I am packing my days full of things?  I have been painting cabinets (huge successful endeavor I am thrilled about), and changing this and that.  Which led me on a small journey….

You see, I was craving a sweet, cozy piece of art for my wall…

Patisserie

I couldn't find the perfect thing, and then I had this moment, where I realized that my painting "Patisserie" which I painted, and went to a lovely home ages ago, was never turned into a print.  I had it professionally scanned, and simply forgot.

I tell ya, my brain is so full, it is bursting at the seams.

Can a brain get too full?

I expunge so many things all the time.  Odd.  Strange feeling.

Anyhow, Patisserie was found, and turned into a print.

I am so excited, as this piece with the pink skies and magical cypress grove in the background peeking in, plus pastry shop, makes my heart ever so happy.

Etsy Patisserie

I would love to jump in.

Oh oh, and on that note….

Camille and Violetta are now in print form in my shop also…

Camille and Midnight Tea

Violetta and the Tiny Tea Set

I also added a brand new section to my shop, called "Extra Large Prints."

Which means these pieces are not only available in 8" x 10" – but also in 11" x 14"

That is exciting news around here.

🙂

Of course all of this sweet talk, has me wanting to share a special treat with you.

Pixie Dust Chocolates!

Pixie dust chocolates 1

They are art, and they are edible!

You see, I did some logo work for lovely Melissa, the master mind behind these scrumptious creations.

Of course, they were beyond pretty, and I had to have some…

But, I never thought they would be as delicious good as they are.

That coming from a girl who never really loved chocolate.

These got me.

Mister agreed.  Really good quality.

  Aren't they so pretty?

Melissa has no idea that I am sharing these with you.  But I just had to.

I spied some extra pretty birds and eggs on her website, and I think I feel a need for some more!

I also like having these pretty treats around to offer to my guests.

Edible art really…

So, a few good sweets every now and then are quite lovely.

I don't have a massive sweet tooth, but when I do get one, I want something nice.

Is it that I am getting older, or are store bought candy bars just not what they used to be?

The sugar is too sweet or something.

I don't like them one little bit.

Eeks.

Yep, it's an age thing.

All of a sudden I like things I always hated.

Like good mustard.

I used to tell people that I was so allergic to mustard, that I might die if they fed it to me, just because I hated it so much.

And now I sorta like it.

Go figure?

By the way…….

On an unrelated note, look at how big my baby of 6 months is!!

Matty was seated next to Miles, but he ran out just as I snapped the shot. Rascal!

So, it's Miles, solo.

Can I just tell you…

His hugs are magically delicious.

I mean really.

Soft and yumms.

Miles Love

Is it okay to love my furry boys this much?

I mean, it's like beyond love.

Indescribable love.

Burst my heart and make me cry I love them so much, love.

L – O – V - E

I like mustard all of a sudden, I adore furry creatures beyond words, I like reading junk catalogues that sell old school random things.  Like weird gadgets and stuff.  And, I will eat all sorts of curious things.

I am becoming my grandfather I think.

🙂

And, that's all I have to say about that.

Do you all of a sudden like something you never liked before?

Okay, must be off, can't wait to hear!

See you super soon!

Love, V

A Sparkly Heart see you soon

ps:  The kindredness in that last post with you, Incredible!!!  This is why these virtual worlds are so very special, they bring us into a place where it all clicks.  Beyond awesome.

pss:  Miles is majorly whining at me to be done here, so I can give him my attention, he is so funny!  While Matty patiently waits…

  1. Little Miles! He’s not little anymore. WOW. So cute. I mean…handsome (don’t tell him I called him ‘cute’)
One of my cats is named Spudnik (like the song by the Ventures, not a misspelled Russian space craft) and I called him Little Spud when he was little…and potato sized. Tee hee. Anyway, I still call him that and I tell him it’s just because he’s so darned adorable.
    Those chocolates are beauuuuuu-tee-ful!
And yes, my tastebuds have changed a lot! Like I suddenly crave avocados when I used to hate them.

  2. April Cole says:

    How magical and inspiring!
Always delighted to visit your site :]

  3. Love your new prints! And the chocolates are so pretty! Especially the rose shaped white chocolates, so delicate 🙂

  4. Carl V. says:

Congrats on the new prints, and print sizes. How wonderful that you found that image! A new print for the shop and you didn’t have to go out and create it–because you already had!
I’m not big on the standard store-bought chocolate bars, unless they are dark chocolate. As I’ve gotten older I’ve drifted away from like much milk chocolate. I much prefer the darker stuff. Dark chocolate makes anything so much better. I hate coffee, but dark chocolate coffee beans? Yum!!!
I’m sure I’ve taken a liking to some things in my older age that would earn me the ‘grandpa’ title, but I’m not sure what. I used to be a picky eater and as an adult I’ve grown to love a lot of different foods and have learned to be adventurous and try new things, in restaurants and at home. Other than that, so many of the things I like: British comedies, sitting on the porch reading, taking walks, sitting around visiting with people…are all things I have always liked. Maybe I was born old! LOL!

  5. deb says:

Miles is losing his puppiness!!!! How adorable! Would have loved to see Miles and Matty pictured together.

  6. Cori G. says:

Oh loveliest of lovely little prints to be sure and your wee patisserie? Ooh la la Mon Ami!!! Tres`jolie ;-).
Me thinks your friends chocolates look scrumpdilly. I love all the little gold flakes and the petite frogs looking as if they are ready to jump ;-). Have a happy day my friendling of the most Fanciful kind.
Oh, I sent you an invite for something FUN!!!!
    Love me

  7. melissa says:

    Dearest Vanessa,
Thank you, for displaying the chocolate so beautifully! Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon pictures of chocolates that I had made! You are such a lovely friend and I cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for Pixie Dust and me <3.
Very soon, I too, will have a surprise to share with you! Here's a hint... the logo you made for me, meets a chocolate bar!!! I am so excited, I'm bursting with anticipation <3 <3 <3
    Hugs!
    Melissa

  8. The chocolates look ‘to die for’!!!
And your furry boy is beautiful…no wonder you love him and Matty so much!
    Have a lovely day!
    smooches to you,
    Miss Teresa

  9. Stacy Ross says:

    Love the prints…
    Love the chocolates…
I crave French Fried Onions now…
I HATED them when I was a child.
Miles. Miles is a big beautiful beast.
It’s amazing how quickly they get grown up.
When I let Rocky outside now and he wants back in, he can almost jump to the top of the door. No kidding. I cleaned dirty little paw prints about 18 inches from the top of the door. Good grief, I love that boy.

  10. Laura says:

Those chocolates are AMAZING. I’m guessing they’re equally tasty. Wouldn’t that be a dreamy job? Being a chocalatierre? Is that even a word? Did you read Chocolat? I’m sure you did.
Anyway—-mustard! Have you tried any of the snooty gourmet types? There are people who love stone ground mustards like people love wine and cheese. They’re pretty darn good. I love a smear on some nice sausage with some little pickles and wheaty crackers. I also like plain old cheapy yellow mustard on cold, leftover meatloaf on top of half a biscuit. So comforting.
    Scritches to the boys.
And you. Maybe you’ve been working in the garden too long and you could use a good ear or scalp scritch.
    scritch scritch

  11. Kathleen says:

Oh my those chocolates are so crying for me….they need to be at my house NOW! I know my gnomies and magic bunnies would just love them!
What do I love now that I didn’t so much before: AVOCADOS!!!!!

  12. melissa says:

BTW… I always thought that calling black licorice “Candy” was an awfully big stretch but, now it is one of the few things that I truly crave (Dipped in chocolate, that is) !!!

  13. Betty says:

Lovely prints, Miss Vanessa! And lovely chocolates too. I love seeing things that were made by people who clearly had a lot of respect and love in their hearts. Your loveliness just shines through everything you do!! And I am SO happy to read that I am not the only one who feels like their brain is just so full that it will explode!! All day long, I start half of my sentences with “OK…well, what if…..” And that’s really the Idea Factory Sentence in my vocabulary! Sometimes I wish I could just get some of the things done before I think of more things to do!!
    Hugs to you,
    Betty

  14. Miss Linda says:

Oh my, the candy looks so pretty…too beautiful to eat. I would just want to look at them. I love your prints…very lovely.
Beautiful Miles…He looks so proud, brave and loyal…

  15. Theresa says:

Hi Vanessa! Your prints are fabulous – I just love how they are all centered around sweets and tea. Yum yum yum! 🙂 Miles is such a beautiful boy…well, young man – I guess I should say. I just love doggy hugs – they are THE best. My little guy loves to put his paws around me and give me ginormous hugs. 🙂 I was just chatting with my hubby about foods that I love now that I would never touch when I was younger – like cauliflower and green beans. I know those are odd choices, but we can’t control what we like to eat! LOL xoxo Theresa

  16. I totally get your fur baby LOVE! I can’t have dogs (yet) because I live in a apartment, but my three kitties & I share pieces of the same soul… we make up the spirit that is US. ^-^
So few people really, truly get what I mean, but I am most confident that you already know. =D
Love & hugs to you & Mister & your furry sweeties.
Now to head to that magical chocolates page…
    XOXO

  17. Beautiful work, and oh my, those chocolates – even I, who LOVE chocolate – would have trouble eating them!
Nessaaa – I am a finalist in a photo contest, with three of my circus photos! YAY! I have the chance to win a trip abroad… Would you like to vote for me, pretty please? If so, please click next to my name and scroll down and hit “vote”?

  18. I have a 6 month old furry golden Labrador named Harry. He is a fearless terror and a soft sookie baby both at the same time. I love him so, so much. I think if Miles and Harry were to meet, they would be the best of mates 🙂 I completely get your love for your fur babies

  19. Alia says:

Miles is such a handsome grown up boy already! My furry guy Mal just got neutered the other day and has to wear one of those cone collars so he doesn’t lick. He of course does not like it and the combination of his already sad eyes and the goofy collar is heart-wrenching! He seems to be saying “why are you doing this to me?” I so want to let him not wear it, but I don’t want him to get an infection from licking. Anywho, that is what is going on in my furry land. I am glad yours is so happy!

  20. Pixie Dust Chocolates? New Prints? My sweet friend, what a post! Those chocolates are gorgeous, and I can’t even get over your new prints. Camille and Midnight Tea–oh my! But, really, they’re all beautiful. Patisserie is so lovely, and I’m so happy you found this, and that it’s now a print too! xoxo
