The Surprise Visitors

Wondering what happened to me?  Maybe I am on vacation in a swirling metropolis?  Shopping?  Lounging?  Painting?  Nope.  Life as I know it is on a small hault.  The following is a detailed sketch of what has occurred to Miss Vanessa Valencia.  (click on drawing to enlarge)

Yes, that is me in the door way.  Unsuspecting.  Unusual knock on door,  and a loud "Surprise."  A lovely unexpected group.  Shocking to a single girl, set in her ways.  <Huge Grin> I have rituals, I have OCD, I have, umm, ummmmmmm…Allergies???

I think I am addicted, as I sit nervously, tapping my finger, awaiting the chance to jump onto my computer.  What are you guys doing??? I am lost, I am jittery, I am addicted to reading your blog!!!!! xxo,V

  1. carolyn says:

HeHe, very funny Vanessa, I think maybe we are all just a little bit addicted to blogging, but woe betide anyone who tries to tell us!

  2. stephanie says:

So funny and I TOTALLY agree. We had internet problems last week, 2 SOLID days without visiting blogs…I was very cranky and my husbands suspicions confirmed 🙂

  3. LMAO! *do you got breakable stuff and I gotta pee*
Gotta love unexpected company 🙂 But I bet you had a great visit.
(are they reading your blog? LOL)

  4. Karen Beth says:

Cute illustration. Hope your weekend has been good! 🙂

  5. Sarah says:

Why do you look like a giant? I think you are subconciously overcompensating for your true diminuative nature. You think to yourself, “I will draw myself 10 FEET TALL and then no one will really know that I can fit in their pocket.” I’m right, aren’t I?!
Oh. Tell that kid that I have to pee too, so she should hurry it up! Who are your unexpected visitors anywho?

  6. Hi darling, fanciful girl, I just wanted to pop by from Dhaka and say I miss you, you adorable thing!!!

  7. kazzy says:

    oh’ miss fanciful….
i feel a bad mummy sometimes as i cant help but blog!!…so i make sure i do it while she’s napping or in her cot asleep in the evening….im addicted to blogs!!!!
where would we all be without yours hey???
well…i couldnt bare to think of that!!!
i love it!!….i think its a way to de-stress and chill out and talk about our thoughts and feeling to someone who is out their in blog land….how i love it.
being a mummy…its hard to think of yourself alot of the time…so my blog time is my escape! just for abit to be just old kazzy for a while.
    you talk such sense girl,
    kazzy x x x

  8. Tricia says:

Dear Vanessa, how are you? You look very large and you have curlers on one side of your head only…and what is that look on your sweet face with those your raspberry lips? It says, ‘Oh My!’ or ‘What the….?!
Despite your initial shock and surprize, i do hope you had a marvelous day with no broken pottery…hehe! I too am a girl set in her ways and love to hear about visits before they actually happen!
And what am i up to, you ask? I have been a busy spring cleaning bee, buzzing here and there around my farmhouse, zapping away dust, dirt, cobwebs and grease….icky but necessary work that must be done every springtime! Oh, and i now have to go make-over my sunroom now, into shabby chicness! I should post on my blog, the before and after…hmmm.

  9. cheeky says:

Laughing with you, not at you lovely. Can you sneak away for a bit? Just a wee bit?
    I’ve got rituals too! LOL
You are too darling! Enjoy and remember to breath, A LOT!
    xo

  10. Felicia says:

    LOL Hope you survive!!

  11. cruststation says:

Heheee…addiction? I know that feeling well 🙂 Thank you so much for the goblin grab bag, you’re amazing!!!

  12. giggles says:

This is totally me!! Last night I had my blog done and ready to post, then surprise, a knock at my door. I hadn’t answered the telephone….so they showed up instead, mini personal crisis in hand, finally left at 1:30 am! Friday night the power went out and that sent me into a frenzy of “what do I do, there are no lights and hurry up I need my computer back” mode! When I have overnight guests I just stay up later so I can have a few moments online! Yes it is a definite addiction!! Now, do they have Bloggers anonymous, I wonder?
    Great post! Many giggles here!
    Hugs Giggles

  13. lol!! I understand!! Blogging has a way of sipping under our skin doesn’t it!

  14. risa says:

good luck my dear! you will survive! you will!

  15. sadira says:

Oh dear…I am the kind of person that is so very lonely…then when I “have” to do something, I rebel…then when/if guests leave, I feel lonely again…I am working on being happy wherever I am, and hoping that it kicks in soon…tee-hee! When guests come and disrupt our regular routine, I think it helps to show us exactly where we’re stuck in our lives…and exactly what we’re addicted to!
I’ll be here waiting until you have the time to visit in blogland…doing all sorts of exciting things I’m sure!

  16. Sonya says:

Isn’t it awful? I feel the same way. What is that sound? Oh, it’s the minutes passing swiftly by as I immerse myself in the world of blogs.

  17. michelle says:

How can I be addicted to something that I didn’t even know existed 6 months ago! But I am and I love it! You illustration cracked me up, as you usually do. Hope that all in all it was a fun unexpected visit.

  18. sulu-design says:

Love it! I think that I have to start setting some blog reading rules for myself, since I’m starting to get a little too irritated when people call unexpectedly while I’m catching up with crafty ladies on-line. We all need to start one big self-help group. And admitting you have a problem is the first step.

  19. Mitchell the Catus says:

I enjoy talking with people without them being here.

  20. Anastasia says:

haha very funny – you’re a blog addict!!
    welcome to the club!!!

  21. I think you and I are very similar!!! When my bubs’ family came for a visit I had to sneak away for brief minutes….
it was sad, I practically broke into hives.

  22. oh, how i’ve missed you!!!
I miss *ME* too! LOL! Feeling a bit like i am emerging from the mist at lat, and hopefully i shall be back to my blogging ways soon, well, as soon as i have something more interesting to speak of than the state of my insides, anyhow! Getting back to my creative self is a sloooow process indeed! 🙂

  23. tiffany says:

Know exactly what you mean…. 🙂

  24. Yuck poo,on those kind of surprises, but I’ll bet you handle them with amazing aplomb !! Love the drawing!

  25. I have a cute little story told without words in my blog today 😉

  26. Ahhh chiquita guest bloggers!
