Pumpkin Heart, Pumpkin Brain, Pumpkin Love.

Pumpkin Carriage?  I am Cindersoot of my little world.  I run around dirt laden lands, carrying this here and that there, and cleaning this and rearranging that.  Stopping to paint & make clay creatures a little here and in the midst of doing that remembering another thing I had to do, and so off I run to do that.  Insanity.  But good insanity that keeps me on my toes.

Luckily, some nice fella gets me.  I mean really gets me.  And leaves me treats on the stoop to my new home office space, so that I might stop and breathe and enjoy the last week of October.  What?  When?  Where?  October?  I thought it was July?

But wait, before I babble incessantly about nonsense, let me say the few things I have on my mind that I want to share.

First of all, the virtual Halloween party was a delightment and I am so so so humbled by the amazing participation and fun party posts I got to see.  I can't ever thank you enough.  I just can't.

But I can sure try ;)  T  H  A  N  K   Y  O  U !!

Pumpkin love 22

It is all a big blur, sort of like real life parties are, haha!  It took me from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday to try to make oodles of visits.  If I didn't visit you it was not intentional.  I tried my bestest, I did.  Next time we have a party, it will be a two day event (or more).  One day to visit 300 people is a little more than crrrrazy 😉 ;)

Speaking of crazy, this month has been so crazy busy.  Where has it gone?  I make sure to squeeze in time to enjoy my little world.  It is so important, and I hope you set a little time aside for that as well?

The oodles of sunflowers I planted from seeds (you got to see the seedlings growing a few posts ago) are blooming, and it is still a bit warm here, cooling off at night.

Growing is such an amazing thing.

Whether it is growing flowers…

Or, growing babies (furry baby in this case)…

Pumpkin love 13

Pumpkin love 14

Or even growing love (actually these two act as if they never have lived without each other)…

Growing in every way.  Just a lovely thing indeed…

These two play, and they both hold their mouths open just a tinge, but never bite.  Funny little furry games…

Pumpkin love 17

They search for rodents together.  Yucky yucky, and they succeed!  Eeeeks.  The rodents are trying to take over our world here.  We are trying the peppermint oil technique these days.  Alas, we are sure they are running a full fledged "speakeasy" in our crawl space…

Pumpkin love 3

Oh and, the pups even lollygag on warm days together…

Pumpkin love 16

Lazy days…

Papa and puppy.  Oooooooo, lovely little love.

A man and his pup.  Oh, you should hear Mister talk to Matty.  Nothin' sweeter in the world (or at least in my world), me thinks…

Pumpkin love 11

A little fur baby love, just for you.  Matty snippet from almost two weeks ago.  He is growing too fast for words.  This was his discovery of flowing water.  He loves water and goes in the dog pool all the time.  (nevermind my annoying voice)

And while Matty plays and Baby snoozes, a pumpkin vine that almost died, thrives…

Pumpkin love 8

I wonder if it might ever gift a tiny pumpkin?  Either way, I love this vine.  Grown from a found old seed.

Oh and, I have been forgetting to tell you, so I took a little video so you would believe me 😉

Pumpkin love 7

Even though I roam around alone most of my days, I am always in the company of much chatter.  Might I add, this isn't even a crazy chatter day.  This is a regular birdling coffee club day, right outside our windows.

This goes on all day, every day.  I just looooove those birds.  Cuties! (more close-ups at 53 seconds and 2:02)

It is important to appreciate and embrace your life.  Just as it is.  Don't you think?

Pumpkin love 2

I must be off for now, but I will be back soon.  I was in town all day today and doing a bunch of things at my other house.  Now I am back in the country and sleepy, and getting ready to enjoy every last day of October to the fullest, beyond fullest…

🖤,V

ps:  Don't forget to have candy corn and caramel apples and candy apples and and, fresh kettle corn and all that good stuff.  We have one more week to treat treat treat!

Your ‘Little Man’ has really grown, made me smile because that how I Talk to my growing pup at the moment, What do you want Little man, where have you been little man,:) Lovelt to see your babes together and so happy. Lindax

  2. The bird with the red face and a thing on its head is one of the strangest birds I’ve ever seen but very pretty! Can’t believe the sound of all those birds. All day, every day?
Even though I’m in this cold country I think this autumn thing is simply temporary and that summer will be back any time. Nevermind I changed to winter tyres last week and there is frost almost every night… Making little clouds with my breath,

  3. Chrisy says:

The birds! This was just precious…thank you!

  4. That bird photo is totally awesome! Your doggy sure looks like a nice friend.
I’m sure you will see some pumpkins on the vine, don’t you think?

  5. Theresa says:

Oh, your baby is just TOO adorable. I swear, he has the sweetest little puppy face! It’s so good to see that your two sweethearts get along so well. It’s so cute to see them playing together so happily.
Your sunflowers are gorgeous. Alas, all the birdies here ate our seeds and so we had none. 🙁
It IS important to embrace your life and live it to the fullest. I’ve come to realize that lately and am trying to do just that!
    Bye for now…Theresa

  6. Well one thing is for sure…that was one heck of a party. It took me about 5 days to get to everyone! LOL Thank you so much for hosting such a fantastic party and I had a blast! Can’t wait for next year. May be the event will be a week long one! LOL
I have to agree with everyone here, your little baby sure has grown over the past 3 weeks and looks like he is having the time of his life! Well, why wouldn’t he…he is living the fanciful life! WHOOHOOO Have a great weekend and thanks again for everything!
    Cheers

You know what I love about you most Veevala? Posts like these, when, after having reminded yourself to slow down, you invite us to slow down with you…and so I talk to Matty, and tweet with birds (good lord! what are they talking about do you think?), i laugh and laugh at “squeakeasy”, swoon over a certain picture of man hands loving little fur, and furs playing together, and little fur in water…and pumpkins growing and flowers blooming..
and THEN I look outside MY window and say oh! I have sunshine and breezes and furry love and man hands and things growing tooooo!
And I go outside and play.
(and pack a caramel apple with me)
    XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

  8. I love that one picture of your fur babies ~ it almost looks like the pup has an adoring look on his face as he looks up at your dog. I’ve been eating handfuls of candy corn all week ~ I should probably stop, but this is the only time of year I eat candy other than chocolate. Enjoy these last days of October. I can’t believe we’ll be entering November soon.

  9. Again, another wonderful post! Thank you!
And your voice is not annoying, its melodious!

  10. The puppy video is too cute and I LOVE the bird chatter. I miss them so much in the winter when they fly away. Thank you for the little video that I can play and pretend they are here.
    Cheers,
    Tracy M.

  11. Cori. G says:

    Hello my Fanciful Friend,
I simply adore your fur baby love and bird song choir and the little red masked bird is a sweet delight. Oh if I could only see them in flight ;-).
We have some very jittering doves who visit my gardens and I’ve always wondered about their skittishness until I discovered the coffee grounds missing from beneath the roses ;-O.I do hope it doesn’t harm them as they are my favorite garden guests.
Well, I must be on my way. Last week after the party my eyes were in such pain so I sent them to Darling Deb’s Dead Bob to soak in his secret tonic. When he returned them they were far worse and I can hardly look at my computer screen. Off it goes and the lid closed tight…maybe until another night, my enchanted little friend.
    xoxo Cori
    OH…PS,
My resume should read, “Ditzy Broad suffering from mentalpause.” Do you think there’s a job for one such as that…ha ha!!!!

  15. carolee says:

Oh, how SWEET! Matty is just adorable….
And the Halloween party was fabulous, although I confess to only making it through the “B’s” (craziness going on here at the moment)…
I love that the links will stay on the party post though, so I can visit them as time allows. 🙂

  16. Cyberdelia says:

Ooooh thanks for the puppy vid & birdie vid! Mattie is just too adorable!
I am so glad to have found your blog because you are so much like me…I not only create in my own chaos too (start this project then do that one and back to that and then oh do this thing and don’t forget that thing and then back to the first project and then another and…), but I stop every day to watch & listen to the titmice that come to my feeder! You are so lucky to have found a fella who gets you…that is so important…I’m still looking, but I am ever optimistic! 🙂
Thanks for the smile-inducing post! 🙂

  17. Shell says:

I felt seriously hungover from the party. It took me two days to visit everyone, it was worth it. Your parties are always fun and full of beauty.
I loved the video of Matty. It’s sweet to see both your dogs now bonded together.
October has gone fast for me now and it has been full of delight for me.
    Have a beautiful weekend, Vanessa.

I love your photos..so beautiful. I have one pumpkin that I grew this summer. I haven’t carved him yet, it almost seems a shame to do it. 🙁

The party was a complete delight as usual! And dear little Mattie is such an adorable pup. Isn’t it funny the way men just melt around puppies? Looks like your Mister is well on his way to melting down completely with that sweet baby! I enjoyed the videos. Thanks for sharing. – Kathy in Chicago

What a fantastic day you’ve made of it. Love that Matty! Love Baby, too. I am still so so so enjoying the Celebration and have made an amazing discovery… one of the peeps is living in my original hometown. We are now talking about getting together for an ART DAY. LOL.
Have a great one, Vanessa. Love love and more love to those birds.

  25. Big loves, Miss V!
That Matty is a charmer to be sure. Such a delight that little one brings. I have been pining for a dog recently which is quite strange. We had a schnauzer pup named Madison, or Maddy, or Boo (he was black with salt and pepper gray at the end). He died in Dec 2005, I think. Maybe with this new house looming I think it needs a dog… probably won’t happen, but I can dream. I am really enamored of Jack Russell terriers.
Those little tweeters have a lot to say! Your flowers and garden are so lovely…all is changing color here, and all the plants are dying, hibernating. The leaves are past their prime up here, and the trees are shedding their coats of many colors rapidly. The stark branches and gray skies are greeting me daily. Today it was a break in the rain, and it was lovely (of course 17 years ago today it was sunny and 70 here in central WI…the perfect day to get married to my soul-mate 🙂
I am wishing you continued sunny days, dear one! Enjoy the day!

    Hi Vanessa,
I subscribe to your Youtube channel, so I got an e-mail that you and two other people’s had been updated. That puppy is so cute, and the birds chirping it almost sounds like summer here.
I just picked up my copy last night of Artful Blogging and saw the article about the Mad Hatter Party. Congratulations again. It is always so much fun when I open up a magazine and out pops Vanessa! Have a wonderful evening.

  27. No, Vanessa, Thank You for hosting such a wondrous event and allowing us all to share in such fun. My hat is off to you for keeping it all together. Your little Matty is so precious. Give him smooches for me! Twyla

    Hello Vanessa,
I’m glad you made it to my party !!… but I could completely forgive you if you didn’t found the time.
I visited on saterday and sunday and whenever I had time during this week and this weekend and I still have the feeling I’m not getting anywhere close to visit everyone !!
So, if you like, you may leave the links for another week for me…The party is over, but it’s still not halloween !
I completely understand the first part of your post… I often have the same feeling… I make lists in the hope not to forget everything…and I DO finish them… sometimes..
It’s nice to see your puppy on the video ànd hearing your voice ! I always wonder how people’s voice are. You sound a bit like Suziblue on this video…
    greetings from Belgium

    Vanessa:
Thank you so much for hosting such a fabulous Halloween Bash. I visited so many new blogs and met some lovely artists. Thank you, as well, for reminding us all to slow down. I’ve been back to the studio this weekend with a bit of birdwatching thrown in for good measure. The bird in your photo, is that a Pyrrhuloxia? I’ve never seen one “in person”, but they are somewhat common in the Southwest. Do you see them often?

Matty is so adorble. Love how he looks up to the older dog with *love* in his eyes!!!

  36. Oh how sweet of the Mister to leave you pumpkin treats on the stoop…and that Mattie Moon is a sweetie-pie. I’d love to wake up to those birdies in the wee morning. And we had such a fuuuun time with your Halloween Bash, thanks again for hosting!!
    Jamie 🙂

  37. Lisa says:

Thank you for the Matty vid. He is growing sooo fast – but I guess puppies have a tendency to do that. I remember my Dave was the tiniest puppy, but grew out of his first collar the very first week I had him.
Thanks also for the beautiful big dog frolicking happily with the baby dog pics. It’s nice to know they really love each other. I hope to some day adopt a furry sib for the lovely Kate – Thanks for the proof that a furry baby can be fully adopted by the older furry child.

  38. laura says:

How sweet your four legged companions are and great friends to boot! I think our little Pablo would love a companion to sniff and splash with, maybe next year.
I love your videos too, i find the sound of twittering birds so relaxing 🙂

  39. Martha says:

OH Miss Vanessa, Matty is such a cutie! My puppies still fight (play) like that. It looks horrible, but they never hurt each other. Have a wonderful day! Take care, Martha
