And so we head off to see the circus girl…
Anticipating those colorful scented nights under cool moonlight.
Those lights sparkling ever so bright.
Beams of color, imagination in flight.
With such grace she dances on point, way up in the sky.
Every color of your wildest dreams comes alive…
Under the big top of pure delight.
This is the piece I have been working on for about a year, or more.
Adding color in layers and layers…
Sparkles, and gold leaf, and orbs galore.
Circus magic conjurings swirling in my head…
She dances and twirls, calls my name sometimes at midnight.
More sparkle?
Okay, you got it.
And now, she is ready to find a new home.
To start a new journey and adventure.
The Circus Girl
24" x 24" x 1.5
Since I will be going on an adventure soon, I thought I would ad these new pieces at the last minute. I just didn't want more time to pass.
And this little lass has been on an expedition for a year over to Stampington.
So, she's eager to find a home.
Candy colors of party goodness…
She is also now in my shopling.
Sweetie sweets.
With pink and white stripes surrounding the piece.
You can spy her in the 2013 issue of
Somerset Holidays and Celebrations.
It's a scrumptious dreamy issue by the way.
So happy to have little miss be a part of it.
A couple other pieces were on a little journey…
This piece comes to me in my dreams.
I think spring lives deep in the heart.
It's always there…
Even with autumn upon us, the weather shifts, and we get an autumn spring for a few weeks.
Flowers rebloom, and come back to life after the very hot summer.
Then winter spring planning – the yearning for fresh buds, the anticipation.
Spring in the heart…
Awakening of Spring 10" x 10" 1.5"
Sparkles of dew, and hope…
Giant flowers, like Thumbelina in the garden.
A heart full of spring indeed.
A little different from being at the circus – but still two places I love.
The peace of the garden, the magic of the circus.
Don't you love both of those places as well?
Oh oh, last but not least…
Let me not forget…
Nature's Lullaby.
10" x 10" x 1.5"
I wish I could have that background on my wall in my house.
I love those flowers and colors of teals and pinks.
There is gold leaf edging with fairy sparkles surrounding this piece.
Can you hear the tune? Of nature's lullaby?
It's so hard to convey the sparkle via photos.
Paper dress dancing ensues…
All pieces so different aren't they?
But all little facets and colors in my heart.
All pieces now looking for homes.
And, can be found in my online shop here.
I loved making these so much.
Thanks for peeking in.
Love, V
ps: We have had ever so many projects up our sleeve. Tiling a bathroom, organizing drawers. How do kitchen drawers get so insane? It's silly really. Why does organizing ones closets and cabinets feel so good? Well, my shop will be open for a few more days, and then I will take a little journey. After which, we need to talk about a Halloween Haunted Tea Party I have up my sleeve. You game? It will be late in happening, but it will happen if I have any say about it, k? 🖤

I love your new pieces! The one painting is sooo colorful!
I have been on vacation in Colorado this past week. Yeah, bad timing on that. We were supposed to go visit our nephew in Boulder & visit pretty much all the other cities that got washed away! We didn’t get to him until Sun. We had to stay in Vail until then. It was safer there. At least we made it back in one piece & our nephew was fine too.
Good luck to you! : )
Beautiful work, Vanessa.
I especially love your Circus Girl.
(I worked with a small circus many years ago and it’s never lost its magic for me.)
The little journey you mentioned….you do know that you’re not going on that alone, yes?
You’re surrounded by so much love from all of us here, and you can draw on that at any time.
We’ll all look after things here while you’re adventuring – do a bit of dusting, make sure the fairies don’t trash the place in the name of a good game of hide & seek, that kind of thing – and we’ll all be here when you get back.
Love & Light,
Meg
Vanessa, these new pieces are so vibrant and lovely!!! I especially love the awakening of spring! I’m glad you decided to share <3Congrats!!!
I was pondering the idea that u might have some Halloween magic plans up your sleeve. We understand though that sometimes life gets in the way! Just know we want you feeling rested and well enough and "only if", your Wonderful Caretakers, consent to seeing you indulge your Fancifulness.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.<3
I am so happy you finished your masterpieces before your adventure…
Such gloriously, magical art work. These art collages must visit you in your dreams before you put them onto canvas…as they are the stuff dreams are made of. A fairy must have touched your muse when you began to create your paper doll girls, as they are so ethereal and fairytale-like, and beyond breathtakingly beautiful. I love all of the amazing brilliant paints you used, and the embellishments you added layer by layer.
It is late, and I thought I’d take a peek at your blog to see if you had been able to finish these beauties…and you did!
Now you can take a well deserved break and we will be thinking of you all the way.
Much love and hugs,
Miss Teresa
Beautiful creations Vanessa, but I have to disagree with you – Autumn is what is always in my heart. I don’t much care for spring. But I don’t have to worry about that where I live, since autumn arrived last week, with rain, turning leaves and around 10 degrees 🙂 And you know it: I can’t wait for your Halloween Haunted Party!
Just like your gorgeous ballerina! ” Keep Dancing” until we meet again! xoxoxoDebi
Such magical work as usual, Vanessa. So glad to see you’ve been doing what you love. Our arms are wrapped around you during your adventure. When you are ready, let us know how you’re doing. Only when you’re ready. Much love to you!
Beautiful beautiful Circus Girl, I want to be her today!
Beautiful, wonderful, delightful pieces of art!!! I’m sure each and everyone of them will find the perfect home to be gazed upon in love and bliss.
A haunted halloween tea is just the funness to look forward too, I agree!
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie

Miss Vanessa..You are so very awesome… I love this style..so many bright and vivid colors ! Congratulations on your recent published work…
Looking around at all the Halloween goodies..I’ve got some new pieces.
Your adventure will come and go quickly and you will be up and around soon after..
Sending hugs and kisses…and sweet prayers.
Ooooh, they are all beautiful but “The Awakening of Spring” is gorgeous. The feeling is quiet and emerging, as spring does when blossoming out of the autumn and winter lull. I love the background that resembles a faded, dusty tapestry. Plus the fairy lights in all of the girls hair – that’s a brilliant effect. I have to go to the bookstore this weekend, so I’ll look for your article in the magazine. 🙂
You know I’m Halloween crazy, 365 days a year – but yes, I’m eager to see what everyone does for the holiday.
Sending you lots of good vibes and well-wishes. <3
Oh they are lovely as ever! And you shall be much in my thoughts while your away…I’m sending you lots of well wishes!! You shall be much missed, let me tell you, Dear friend!
They are all so pretty, but I LOVE Nature’s Lullaby!
Gorgeous new paintings V. You’ve been working so hard.
If your feeling up to a Halloween tea party I’ll be more than happy to take part whenever the date, even if it turns into more of a Halloween at Christmas party!
Thinking of you, Vanessa. I wish for you only the best. May the Autum
season bring you rest, healing, and much love. Take care of yourself, love Karen
I was just thinking of the Halloween Tea Party, the other day. I know you are having your surgery. I’m sure everyone can wait till you are better. Or even do a Christmas/Winter themed Tea Party. Whatever you decide, we are all here for you.
Your paintings are so beautiful, Vanessa. I love the sparkly dresses! The Circus Girl is so colorful, The Party so sweet, and I’m loving the floral backgrounds of Nature’s Lullaby and Awakening of Spring! Oh, and congratulations for being in Somerset Holidays and Celebrations! Yet another honor for our talented friend!
We will be checking in here, awaiting the day you are able to return and thinking of you often. We will imagine you being taken care of by those you love, surrounded by the beauty you so freely share with us here. We will know that you are receiving comforting snuggles from your two sweet fur boys.
And know that I will be lifting you up in prayer.
This is the most gorgeously coloured post of your creations I’ve ever seen. You always remind me not to be limited by any colour, and mix and match, it’s bound to make me so much happier 😛
Oh my goodness Vanessa, I LOVE ‘THE CIRCUS GIRL!!!’ The colors…
I WISH I could get her. Hmmm, Christmas is coming up…bwahahaha. Not that she’ll last that long. Oh the beauty!!
Jamie 🙂
