Everytime I think about the phrase "One World-One Heart," it sparks a certain feeling. It makes me reflect on the fact that although we are all very different people, there are certain things that we all yearn for. There are certain things that would be beautiful and magical to any one of us. No matter what window we look out of every morning…
Could it be snow in a place that never snows? Could it be warm sunshine in a place that is always cold? Could it be deeeper than that? Don’t we all want to feel loved and respected? I think we do. And, we all want a sense of peace and calm.
After all of the complexities of who we are and what we want from life, are set aside. Don’t we really make up, One World-One heart? One heart that flourishes with the same basic needs.
My friend Lisa M. S. Oceandreamer put together this event, for people from all over the world, to share and visit. It is a huge event, and she is wonderul for creating this 2 years ago, and bringing so many together…

This is a wonderful time to reflect on who we are & what we do. More importantly, how it affects others… This week I have been reminded several times, about how simple kindness (even to a stranger), can change that persons course of life. My mother always reminded me of this as a child. Yet, I find that as adults, perhaps we have forgotten to remind ourselves. It is so easy to forget, in the fast paced world we live in…

How could it be that I have not been here before? Entering your blog, I was delighted and at home. I live in the most north point of Scoottsdale,AZ (On the other side of the street is Carefree…apparently there is a lesson for me in that) and I almost fell over to see snow in my view…instead I ran light as a snowflake on my desert path with my eyes affixed on the northern mountains…daydreaming about what I would do if I lived there. Yeah, it’s too easy to forget simple kindnesses. A mantra I repeat often is *be kind* – I got it from the movie ‘Holy Smoke’ – but it is probably originally a buddhist or hindu saying of some kind. I even thought of having it tatooed to my wrist once, but thought that wouldn’t be too kind to myself – ouch! I have to say though, that I’m not so great at living this mantra – I only hope that with time and through repeating it to myself, I get better.
The images in this post are absolutely stunning! Snow in the desert? Are you serious? Wow. It doesn’t snow here and I’ve only seen snow once on a holiday to the south island of New Zealand – it was the most magical, beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. However, in the spirit of being grateful, I am thankful that our winters aren’t that cold!
A great post, with or without a giveaway. You’ve reminded me to be thankful and to live with generosity towards others….to *be kind*. 🙂

This is a great idea! However, I just moved across country and have most of my stuff in storage. What I would like to do, is go into as many of the blogs as I can and sign in. If my name gets pulled by anyone as a winner, I will donate $100 to AIDS Foundation in memory of my brother. If my name gets selected more than once, I will up the ante an additional $10 every time it gets pulled (greedy I know, but one can dream!!!) If my name is not pulled by anyone, I will still make a $50 donation. This way, everyone is a winner.
