Once upon a time…

Once upon a time in a very strange place, lived these two lovely creatures (whose bodies looked like nuts – of the deliciously edible sort, of course).

They were so delighted to be strolling together. But the words, the words were sparce.  How could they express the looming words each had to share? Lightly grasping each others hand, both thought the gesture, less complicated than words. (Once Upon a time, can be found,  in my shop)

As they tip-toed around the woods, they stumbled upon the most amazing pasture. Quite like that of a fairytale indeed…

They realized they had entered the world of Art and Ghosts.  There was no turning back. Of course, there was no turning back for me either once smitten by Lou and her phenomenal creations.  So smitten in fact, that I thought I should have a collection of my own.  I must have caused this Nina Curiosa a large amount of pain. Everytime I would send her a list, I would have to retract the list, as I kept adding… Weeks passed, as we isolated my choices. Once chosen, the enormously high quality prints came my way…

I have to confess, there are more that must be added to my collection.  Though, first, I must work on getting the following items framed…

What can I say.  I am an addict. An art addict.  I can think of much worse things to be?

In other news…

Our 4th of July looked like this.  Imagine if you will… Dreaming, in your bed, all cozy.  Suddenly, excruciating pain. Horrible mind boggling pain.  In one place, then another, and a third.  Well, this little anti-friend here…

Img_7069

Yes, it is a scorpion, don't worry, it's dead.  Remember my other scorpion tale? Well, Mr. Lovee, sadly, was stung, 3 times by this horrid thing.  And, I am sorry to tell you, it happened in a very terrible place on his body.  I know, you will want to laugh. I want to chuckle just typing this. In fact, I am smiling, right now.  I am a terrible girl!  He was stung on his cheeks. And, not the ones on his face. Twice on the left cheek, once on the right cheek. In his sleep, in his bed.  Poor man. He is fine now, which is why I laugh. I escaped my private boudoir to check on him last night.  The pain is almost gone, but he was sleeping on his belly.

To escape the thoughts of waking to such pain early on the 4th of July, we did some low key fun things. Dick Arnold came over and played tunes with Mr. Lovee.  Mr. Lovee kept switching from instrument to instrument, first his upright bass, then the tinkering piano, then this…

Img_7013

And Dick played on one of Mr. Lovee's other guitars. Of course, he has his own fabulous ones, but those were at his own home… And he sang… Oh he sang….

I frolicked in the garden. Picking herbs for our dinner. Basil, Rosemary & Oregano…

I spent a pleasant amount of time stealing the furry baby's pool. Scrubbing it down with all kinds of cleaning agents and scrubby things… Mr. Lovee says the photo makes my feet look like monster feet.  Don't worry, it is just the moving water… RRRaaawrrrrrr.

Actual toes (in motion)…

About the pool thievery.  It created sulking faces, so I had to give the pool back…

Mr. Lovee grilled treats.

Img_7047

While I prepared the most delicious treats of my own.  Whole grain baguette, sliced & toasted, drizzled with my own sweet, red wine & olive oil concoction.  Layered with tomatoes that had been swimming in the red wine drizzle for an hour or so.  And, topped with fresh Mozzarella and herbs… Tada

Of course, it wouldn't be a bright summer day without dessert.  Now, please tell me, how do they get strawberries to be the size of my hand???

I have decided to share with you, here you go, you can have Mr. Lovee's, Ha.

It’s very funny to read one of your posts while Micah sits next to me reading along. First he thought the scorpion was Mr. Lovee, then the dog. Then I scrolled back up and showed him who Mr. Lovee was. Now he wonders who stung the scorpion because it looks like the scorpion is dead. Now he wonders maybe “the horrid thing” stung Mr. Lovee and the scorpion. It’s going to be a loooooong day!

  21. Karen Beth says:
