Happy Halloweeeeen!
Halloween is in full effect at our house.
I bet some of you are out trick or treating as I type…
We've had a wonderful Halloween so far.
You?
Mister ran out for a late afternoon appointment while I whip up our Halloween feast.
Of course, I snuck off to say hi to you and share some pics.
I have baked up a storm today.
Filling the dining table with all sorts of goodies.
It's all pumpkin happy and glowing in there.
The funniest thing is happening.
The gourds that grew way up high in the trees are slowly moving down to reachable heights.
The vines are drying and sagging, just enough to grab a few.
It's so interesting to see, and quite handy too, those sneaky vines.
I love treat making on Halloween, you?
It was a super lovely baking day.
Although, the caramel apples need to happen still.
I was watching the real story of Halloween on the history channel.
Did you see that last night?
Anyhow, I was particularly interested in the soul cakes.
So, this is my own version.
I'll make the traditional version in a couple days, for day of the dead.
These are turtle brownies with powdered sugar.
Want one?
I wish Halloween lasted more than one day, you?
It's weird how tomorrow, it's November, eeeeeek!
But for right this very moment, we have Halloween.
Hoooooray!
Goodies galore!
What would Halloween be without homemade caramel corn, I ask?
Have you tried this recipe yet?
It's scrumptious beyond words!
And it's always a hit.
It's going really really fast, I tell ya.
We carved a few pumpkins this morning.
Can you tell who carved the one below?
Haha, yep, ML.
Looks like some of our guests are arriving.
Seems they can't find their pointy hats.
As I set out our guests I said to Mister Lovee, "you know this is certifiable behavior…"
"Having doll guests and all…"
But he just shrugged, like it's so our norm, that it's no biggie.
Haha!
Poor man, I turned him crazy.
Anyhow, scoop up some treats on your way out…
Or, stay and party with us all night.
I am about to make a delicious dinner.
Then movies and sweets til we drop.
Don't forget a magic spell, or two, or three.
And beware of houses that haunt, okay?
We'll be here all cozy.
Waiting to hear your tales of this glorious night.
Yippppeee!
It's Halloweeeeeen!
I've been watching Practical Magic and Hocus Pocus.
What a good goooood day.
But honestly, what is today without Midnight Margaritas???
Well, off I go.
My stove is calling.
See you extra soon!!
Love, V
Haaaaaappy Halloweeeeeeeeen!

Happy Halloween!!! We’re not at our home on the coast for Halloween this year, first time, well, ever, but we’re at our wee country home in the mountains where there are Autumn colors, a great many pumpkins and lots of spooky fog! Orange lights are twinkling, the Great Pumpkin has visited, Michael Myers has too (no worries, just to lend a knife for pumpkin carving 🙂 and the Owens sisters are about to begin their journey towards Midnight. Sweet dreams & pumpkin blessings!
Gorgeous party! I love the doll sitting on the piano in that spot. That’s a great idea. Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween, Lady V. I love how pretty you made your place for Halloween. I do love this time of year. To me Halloween stretches into Nov 2/3rd. Since you have All Souls Day tomorrow and Dia de Los Muertos as well.
Besides, I’m dressing Jacob in a costume tomorrow. I will stare at someone hard if they say anything to me. 🙂
Happy Halloween!! I love you pictures. I can’t believe tomorrow is November either and I totally agree that midnight margaritas are called for tonight! Cheers 🙂
Happy Halloween. I love your sense of style and beauty in every detail. No one does Halloween as masterfully as you!
Last night we had so many wee Trick-or-Treaters and of course teenagers, too…but all of them were so well-behaved and cute. Our decorations had many kids *Oooohing & Ahhhing* but a few even screamed and ran in fear off our porch, back down the driveway and into the street. HAHAHAHA! Score one for Misha!
Their Mom was standing on the porch saying to her pre-teen girls “Come back here. It’s ok. Nothing will get you.” LOL-LOL-LOL! I called out to them “Ok. I’ll meet you halfway. Come get a Halloween treat? I promise, no tricks.”
Although the best kid was about five years old and he was dressed as Andy, from “Toy Story” and he kept asking questions about EVERY decorations on my porch. So cute and really interested. I loved it! His mom said “He adores Halloween and likes Halloween all year round.” ME TOO, kid, ME TOO! ‘;^)
Happy Halloween (the next day)! Or should I say, Happy All Saints Day!?
I love your decorations and treats. I swear, those pumpkins are just so fantabulous! I only had 5 little treaters come by last night so I have tons of candy left. Gonna make up a goodie bag for some little friends of mine and take it to them. It is really dangerous for me to have so much sugar in the house! 🙂
I hope you’ll share your day of the dead with us.
love & blessings

OHHHHHH! I love this set of pictures! Happy Halloween!
Aww! CAramel popcorn! I have to make some. I just love your photos so much beautiful things to look at.
Happy Halloween Vanessa! I love your room of treats and blossoms, beautiful! I have not had time to make candy corn this year, though it is always a big hit.
We celebrate Halloween for several days – tomorrow is party time 🙂
Just Lovely Vanessa, everything from top to bottom!! You and Mr. L carved pumpkins too!
Sadly our neighborhood has been going through a change where we were once overwhelmed with trick or treaters we had only about 25 show up! Buddy and I had fun with the little treaters who just made him feel sooo special!!!
Happy November!!!<3
I hope you had a great Halloween! I did! All your treats look just scrumptious and I love your mantel full of pumpkins. Do you go to the Dia de los Muertos parade? I have only been once and it was so lovely, so I am definitely going this year. I was planning on painting my face to look like the lead singer from the skeleton band in Hocus Pocus! I love that movie, but I had already watched it on Sunday. On Halloween I always watch Trick r Treat and Sleepy Hollow which are two of my absolute favorite Halloween movies! I am sad it is over, but I guess at least I still have the parade to look forward to. Also, Tucson Comic-Con is this weekend and I get to dress up for that too!
Happy Halloween Vanessa! Your indoor decor is soooo beautiful. I just love the electric fire in front of the real mantle. Looks so lovely!
Sooooooooooooooooooo lovely to see you, and hear you up and about and back to normal. Yes, I said normal. I’m with ML. Dolls for guests are par for the course in your magical world V. Love these visuals. Norma, x
I saw that caramel corn in the picture and thought I need to make some. Thanks for the recipe I will be trying it out as soon as all the Halloween treats are gone! I have to agree with you that I wish Halloween was more than one day. I am kind of sad it is over, I feel like I had so much I wanted to do and didn’t get to. There is always next year! Guess I will have to start thinking about Christmas now.
Take Care!
Wow, what a great post. Everything done to perfection. Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Just popped in from another blog.
I like the change with the indoor party! Everything looks Fabulous. I must confess, I didn’t realize you were having a Halloween Party this year. I hope you you are well and happy!

Around here, Halloween does indeed last more than one night. In fact, we’ve been celebrating for a month already and there’s still a good week to squeeze out of the festivities as our city is having events through this weekend plus we celebrate Dia de Lost Muertos and Samhain (the celtic roots of Halloween and neopagan holiday) isn’t astrologically roll in until the middle of next week. I decorated up a storm, baked and prepared dozens of yummilicious treats, and hosted a costume party and not one, but TWO witches’ tea parties. (You’re my friend on FB, you can see the photo albums if you want, since my blog is all cobwebby and abandoned still) And went through my first ever scary haunted corn maze (maize?) with friends. (true, the boys were far more ‘fraidy cats then us women folk. LOL!) I have loved watching your pumpkin progress all season, as I didn’t manage to plant any this year in my new gardens. We went several pumpkin patches though and brought home pumpkins and winter squashes galore. ’tis my favoritest season, love it so much.
Oh! Such wonderful decor, and treats! Our Halloween and Samhain were absolutely wonderful. <3
Love it all, V.
You did such a great job decorating. Have we seen this room before?
That witches hand is PERFECT! I would love to be a little mouse at this party 🙂
Beauuutiful pics & decor!
I went to a masquerade during the weekend, at a local bar, and it was tons of fun! I made up a character for myself and wrote a story to go with (on my blog, plus I told anyone who would listen at the bar, even a guy who feigned interest in my fairytale in order to cut the line, but I was like: nope! I’m with Snow White!)
Feels like I could finally tap into the creative halloween energy I couldn’t use on your halloween party this year because I worked and worked and worked. Now I’ve been a spider princess! With a fairytale! Yeah!
