A few snippets from around here…
A wacky lil’ tree.
Assorted village, some houses made by me, some vintage/antique.
Others bought here and there over the years.
All the larger ones, gifts from Mombie, over the last few years.
Gingerbread baking.
Molasses.
Brown sugar, butter, eggs…
Spices.
How I ended up with grey frosting.
I don’t know?
Well, I do, by mixing silver edible sparkle dust with homemade frosting.
But, it wasn’t planned.
I decorated a few moons and stars.
Then Lovee finished all the gingerbread men and trees, plus more moons and stars.
His were so happy and colorful.
He even made a gingerbread girl that was supposed to be me, haha.
She’s hiding right now.
The tree is full of things I collected from around the house.
Not planned.
Just tossed up there.
Sort of springy meets fake snow.
Evening glimmer is so nice, isn’t it?
Don’t you just love your tree, when the sun starts to fade, and the lights on it begin to twinkle and glow?
Thoughts about the true meaning of Christmas fill me up so much this year.
We have…
A little piano playing here and there.
Some rest.
Christmas goose by my side.
All parcels shipped.
Time to unwind.
Take a deep breath.
Feel love.
Hold the season dear in the heart.

My hubby, son, and I are just back from having Christmas with my parents and my brother and his wife in the Texas Panhandle. We had a white Christmas there, as they did here at my home in North Texas, as well! Thank you so much for sharing some of your Christmas decorations, and I hope your Christmas was wonderful.

but now my sweet, soft, furry children have beheaded a cat in the hat (one of the toys that did NOT belong to them) and I must rush away!

Merry Christmas dear Vanessa. Love, love, love the colors you used. Next year I am doing my 2nd tree and those are the colors I want to use. I’ve started a couple of those houses.
We didn’t make gingerbread this year and I missed it. Of course I think you can eat gingerbread anytime you want. Your cookies look great.

Your glittery houses (putz ~isn’t that a funny name for them?!) are so tender and have a sweet glow about them ~ just like you….
One time I let my daughter and her friends frost their cupcakes. I had Natalie make up the colors and then when her friends came over they got creative. When you add all the colors together the frosting turns out grey (I know that it usually turns brown with paint but who knows why it’s grey). You know what’s funny? It doesn’t look too good and takes away the taste. lol
