Makings…

Peeking in right quick.

Quiet little making days in the studio.

I love them so.

Makings 2

Little faces getting dolled up and coming to life.

Makings 1

Bits of fabric and sewing away.

Makings 3

Clay, papier mache' and paint build away.

Makings 4

Sewing tiny toile pantaloons.

Makings 6

And stitching crepe paper.

Makings 5

Those are our days these days.

It's like little bits of real magic swirl around when we hunker down in the studio.

We listen to curious tales and enchanting music.

We pretend we are in an old time toy shop.

I can almost hear Geppetto humming from time to time.

Is he here?

Is that Jiminy…?

 Happy Sigh…….

Hope you are doing lovely today.

I am off to munch crispy salad, my fave.

And, to check on tea stained garments, eeee!

Love, V

Sparkly heart

happy, so happy! love everything you do!

  2. Ooooh, love seeing something in progress like this, Vanessa! I hope you will share the finished product, too. It will be interesting to see how something like this starts out and then looks finished up. Love all your fabric. I have been very good and have only just bought some burlap sack type fabric to make into pillows. Otherwise, I have not bought any fabric {yardage or remnants} in recent months. Trying to go along with the “using what I’ve got” mantra. : ) I do love that toile you have for pantaloons. They will be so cute.

  3. Lovely! Lovely! Lovely! What busy, happy bees we all are! I adore these peeks of your art in progress! We just finished (and posted) Abigail’s 100 yards of fabric room makeover! The time spent contentedly sewing DID pass so quickly and enchantingly! Since discovering my source for ordering fabric by the roll for only $1/yard, I think I will see quite a bit more sewing in my future! I’ll play this song! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Such a lovely little dream to wake up to…babe-lings emerging from their wee clay forms into beautiful little creatures with curious eyes. I don’t think life gets any better than that do you?
Happy happy Thursday my Fanciful Friendling!! May you be gifted with dancing humming birds as you create away.

  8. G.G. Pinkster says:

In a wee cupboard with a large and small door,
Lived a mother doll and her daughter with friends X4.
Across the room On a book shelf high,
Was humpty Dumpty having birthday pie.
And all around Humpty the critters had arrived,
Bearing gifts with smiles in their eyes.
Old brass pigs dance the jig,
While tea and cakes decorate the place.
    Finger puppets start to dance,
And tell a tale of the hares romance.
    Christmas fireman stand and watch,
While lady bugs follow the dots.
Old suit cases bust open too,
And out jump 100’s of dancing shoes.
    Oh my goodness omy sight,
Tickles of toys left and right.
A tip a tap, a brush stroke true,
More sister ans cousins to play with yabadoo.

  9. Renee says:

Ohhh, such a lovely little face.
I love that stack of fabrics. I would pick each of them and have 2 of them in my “stash”. One I made pillows with many years ago. 🙂

  10. I love those days, V.
