Hello Hello!
Welcome to our 9th annual Mad Tea Partyπ€
The white rabbit is here to guide you…
He'll show you the way…
Over the bridge and into a world of tea party dreams.
Take his hand and off you go.
What dreams may come will certainly unfold.
No time to waste.
No time to be shy.
Take a seat, a treat, a teacup too!
There are sweets a plenty waiting for you.
Any tea you'd like.
Floral petal menagerie is your taste, perhaps?
There's cherry chocolate cupcakes and edible fairy tale mushrooms just in time.
We've set a table with pink roses that hum the sweetest tune.
Canopies of trees sway in the breeze as we clink and nibble and giggle galore.
Take the key and unlock the magic.
Aren't we lucky?
We get to celebrate this wondrous tale Lewis Carroll left for us all.
A tale that helped us grow our imagination.
And brings us together, as like minded friends, over and over and over again.
Oh such bits and bobs to peer at, you see.
Collected for tea sipping festivities indeed.
Winged creatures fly around fairy lights…
As laughter swirls around.
Poems are typed on old keys and rose petals tossed in the air.
The table is bursting with little pleasures.
Do you take one lump or two?
Don't forget to sniff the wishing bouquet that was waiting for you.
Twinkle twinkle little star…
Err, bat?
The mouse reciting his favorites.
As some of us venture…
Into the most mysterious treats of all.
Amanita muscaria if you please?
Will I grow tall or very small?
I'm not quite sure which I'd prefer.
Such delightments our summer tea party brings.
And just when you thought it couldn't possibly get much madder…
The green fairy turns up just in time.
Also known as, absinthe extraordinaire.
We have 3 varieties waiting for you.
Dare you partake in such intrigue?
Serve just a tiny bit, for it's very strong you see.
And then use your fancy little spoon that holds your sugar cube just so.
An utterly enchanting process I must confess.
Iciest water prepares for its job.
With a four spout absinthe fountain, no one has to wait very long.
And so we begin…
Drip by ice cold water drip on the sugar.
Plip plop, plip plop…
Falling into the absinthe…
Magic begins to happen.
As the sugar dissolves into the absinthe, the louche begins.
Which means, the absinthe turns wonderfully opaque from the water and sugar drip.
Some of us like to just watch the process all day.
Time to take your sip of this anise and herb infused delight.
But you know what they say.
It might make you go mad.
I ask honestly, could any of us go muchness madder?
Take a sip and let us know.
Roam around the table, sipping as you go.
Tea or absinthe, you take your pick.
Another absinthe for you or you?
Oh yes, don't mind if I do, turaloooo.
A little summer rain storm would like to roll in.
But we'll be safe right here under the trees.
Ruffled skirts billowing in the breeze.
Another wonderfully delightful year to share with you.
Our 9th annual, to be sure and true.
But oh my, how can this be?
It is, I promise.
It's true as true can be.
What marvelous magical times we share together.
I hope you've had a glorious tea visit.
Stay as long as you'd like.
The party never ends in our neck of the woods.
Thank you for 9 years of kindred fun!
You are such a lovely bunch, I must say.
Now make your way to other parties if you'd like.
There's a list there on the left of mad tea partiers galore.
Stop in and say hello.
If you'd like to see our parties from past years, simply click here.
It's been a wonderful blog journey filled with friends and fun.
Here's to many more!
Clink clink clink!!!
Lots of love from me to you!
Xoxo,
Vanessa
Now let's keep tea partying like it's 1865, off we gooooπ€
Ps: If you are a mad tea participant hosting your own event, please leave your party link in comments. It will serve as an archive for years to come.

What a party! I love the beautiful absinthe spoon and glasses. The rabbit looks a bit menacing π That turquoise iron bridge though, just wow! Is it new or have I just never noticed it before in all the goodness?
Here’s the link to my party: https://msmisantropia.blogspot.se/2016/07/a-midsummer-tea-party.html
Happy Tea Party!
Hello my dear Vanessa,
What a great party! Each year I am so pleased to participate and to visit it. Love all your details and colors.
Linking up our birthday party of this year “Enchanted Fairy Party” for the moment:

Hope to see you in few hours, small issue with photoshop.
Hugs
Oh wow Vanessa, what a wonderful party you’ve laid out for us to enjoy. Your majestic rabbit looks wonderful in his colourful outfit, enticing us to join in the madness across the turquoise bridge. I’m looking forward to hearing old poems and riddles that pour forth from the vintage typewriter while lazying under the trees. A cup of tea will hit the spot nicely this morning but I will most certainly make a date with the green fairy absinthe as the day turns into night, loving your four tap fountain.
My modest and hurriedly re done (unplanned)party is now up on my blog ‘Once upon a time’.
http://once-up-on-a-time-blog.blogspot.co.uk/2016/07/a-mad-tea-party-unplaned.html
Now I’m off to part take of delicious cakes and blog hop over the weekend. Happy madness to all.
Oh itΓ’β¬β’s such mad fun seeing your imagination at work and the magic you create! Your turquoise bridge…petal strewn table…fairy lights…delicious cakes and edible fairy tale mushrooms…Your attention to detail and patience and timing to capture the ice cold water drops onto the sugar cubes and what a gorgeous spoon! I donΓ’β¬β’t know which IΓ’β¬β’ll try first the tea or absinthe. Thank you for sharing your magic! My link is here:

Happy Mad Tea Party!
Oh, Vanessa! How delightful with an absinthe fountain and everything! I’ll take two lumps but in my tea, please. And I really must try the enchanting edible fairytale mushrooms, please. (Thanks for the tutorial….I will make them soon. My daughter wants to try them!)
Mr. Rabbit has been the most wonderful host for your Ninth Annual Party. This one is my favorite so far! They keep getting better and more fanciful each year.
Thanks so much for hosting! Please stop by my party when you can for something cold. It’s way too hot here in Central Alabama!
xo,

You’ve outdone yourself again. Every little detail more magical than the rest. Perfectly perfect.
Felicitations on your 9th Mad Tea Party!
Your table is always a treat for the eyes! That pink bow! The bridge! So sweet. (I agree. I don’t remember the bridge. Is it new? New or old, it is a delight.)
I love the mushroom treats. The tutorial made me grin. They are both delightful and delectable. Although I am not looking through a crystal ball, I see them in my future.
Thank you for hosting this event and inviting us. I look forward to it each year. It is fun to both host and visit. You bring so much beauty and joy into the world.
The kettle is on at my blog, should you like to come and visit.

I’ll be back tonight!

Thanks, V! Life has been uber-sad in my world. I REALLY-REALLY needed this, and as always, you astound and inspire me with your tea party madness. You make me fall in love with Lewis Carroll again and again. I just can’t quit him, nor do I want to leave this wonderful place. I’ll have another absinthe cocktail, then a cupcake and chase it with tea. Pretty soon, I’ll be buzzing along to the other wonderful places. Yaaaaay! ‘;)
Here’s the link to my tea party, but I’m still working on the second installment. You know me, typical Libra that can’t do just one. There has to be ALL the festivity, fun and madness that the day can possibly allow. Make sure to check back later and it should be completed by then.

Ah, your parties make me drunk just with possibilities and potential and sheer beauty!
This year I have brought musical entertainment as well as a traveling cup, or rather a DIY assignment.
Hmm “louche” a new term for me. And the rakish definition seems to fit while not being negative.
I shall be hopping a bit later this weekend as there are new soft furries in the house needing attendance. Plese visit me here:
http://dogsmomvisits.blogspot.com/2016/07/mad-tea-party-2016.html
A wonderful Mad Tea, as always, and the absinthe is such a *magical* touch (a little early for me though, hehe)…
I hope this finds You and The Hatter and the furkids well.
I’ve managed to pull together a little Tea Party post, despite some major upheaval lately. It was nice to focus on whimsy for a bit, so thank you for that. π€

Dearest Dear Vanessa,
As usual, your beautiful party is such a treat to look at and explore! I always love seeing all of your beautiful knick-knacks and dishes!! And this year, your addition of the absinthe is just perfect, isn’t it? What more perfect beverage for introducing just that much more madness?? Love your water fountain, spoons and thank you for not setting the sugar on fire!! Have had only a few sips of it in the past (not really that fond of licorice!), but I didn’t really have enough to feel any of the reputed effects! Thank you, as always, for being our hostess and guide to a day (whole weekend, really!) of fun and creativity!!!
Little Victorienne and Purple Kitty are waiting for a visit from their friend Vanessa and can’t wait to meet everyone else as well!

I am trying so hard to write an appropriately wonderful comment that encapsulates the wonderfulness and madness of your incredibly spectacular mad tea party, but I am having the most difficult time concentrating. I’m afraid I had to try that melting sugar cube thing several times, being as fascinating as it was, and that necessitated my drinking several glasses of that exquisite green nectar. My head appears to be spinning around and around at this point, and it is very difficult to type this comment on the wonderful typewriter thingy. The keys seem to be moving back and forth which is making my stomach feel qqquuiitttte strrrrannnngeee. Oh my. I really think I must lllllaaaaaaaayyyyyy down. I have some tea stuff on my blog at http://wjcsdigitalworld.blogspot.com/2016/07/mad-tea-party-today.html
Great party! I loved the absinthe and that Rabbit statue is amazing!

Oh my goodness! How wonderful was that tea party! So much color & fun in one place!
What a fabulous drink dispenser!!! I especially like the 2 characters on your table, the rabbit holding his hat & the frog holding the tray!
One thing I noticed was how many fans you have that are named Laura! :0)
Thank you for another great party! Now I have to go check out the other ones.
YEAH for Our enchanting time together! All is so lovely. To sit out in the early morning, around the Tea table with Our group of like minded Tea Pary sisters would be a true delight.I must have a few sips of Your yummy sounding Absinthe,I don’t remember ever tasting it but I do LOVE anise flavor. When I was a Young women I had a creamy milky anise flavored coctail that I thought was called a pink catallac,or something like that.I’ve been thinking about it for about 45 Years.Well, thank You again for the dreamy fun Vanessa-Hugs and blessings Denise

Yes, I am always enchanted by your tea parties. I can’t miss a year it seems; so here I am at http://heartsdelights.blogspot.com playing along. Now off to visit the other parties and enjoy my day in wonderland.
I’ve never cared for the taste of absinthe, but goodness gracious you make it look so yummy! As always, it is a pleasure to get lost and found in your tea garden. Yum! Yum!! Yum!!!
My contribution to the party: http://magalyguerrero.com/in-my-circus/
Wow V, I love your brilliant mind! You blow me away with your creativity! Absinthe. Hmmmm….I bet I’d fall over from just a sip, but I’d try it anyway. Since it is a MAD Tea Party! And, I’m a bit mad and looney in the head. π Then, once I am back up, I’ll take some tea! π The rabbit, the whimsy, the colors, the garden…all wonderfully beautiful! Thank you for hosting. My post will most likely be my last blog post, so it was a fun way to end my journey. I will always visit your blog. Always. Love, Jen xo

It’s so lovely! You are the only person I “know” that has an absinth fountain, much less a four spout one. What a delight! It will take me a couple of days to get to all the other parties, and I am so looking forward to that as well. Or maybe, I’ll just spend all day tomorrow wandering in gardens of delight! Thank you so much Vanessa for bringing such joy into the world!

I wanted to thank you again for hosting this event. I have had so much fun each year I have joined in. It never ceases to amaze me the different ways people interpret this challenge and the different sorts of people who are drawn to it. What a wonderful gift! I think that more than ever beauty and joy is needed in the world. Thanks for spreading that to so many. I really appreciate all you do.
How cool that The White Rabbit helped host your lovely soiree. I hear he rarely goes out this last 50 or 60 years.
This is a place we call wonderland. We know it’s a wonder and
the adventure you’ll have will be a wonder, indeed, when you come to A Fanciful Tea Party.
