So, I know I was just here, oh, less than 24 hours ago. But, I have a tale to tell. You know I live in Southern Arizona, right? Where unless you are watering like a banshee (do banshees water?), you basically have just cactus (cacti) and dirt, right?
Not that cactus and dirt aren't lovely, but, you know what I mean.
So with that in mind, you probably understand my giddiness over anything green, that grows, and flowers in my garden. Right?
("right" is the word for the day, btw)
If you recall my tale about the Unexpected Guest, this is a sort of part 2, to that tale…
The Morning Glory I shared in the link above, has grown so much, I put in a trellis, and what you can't see from the drooping white fabric covering it at the top, is that…
It is shooting over the dilapidated greenhouse remnant wall, and into the sky…
Now, here is where part 2 comes in.
This morning, I was out for a walk, whilst attempting to water simultaneously…
When I spotted a HUGE vine growing, up against the horrid jail fence (that the builder that went under, put up to separate our property from his unfinished mess property. Don't I sound positively thrilled about that?)
I couldn't believe it, I ran in and got my camera.
Can you tell what it is????
A massive Morning Glory vine!
I ran inside to get Mister Lovee…
It's Baby, it's Baby, I kept repeating.
I think I scared him a little…
Mister Lovee paced it out.
It was, at the very least, a 20 foot length of Morning Glory Vine.
Did the seeds blow over from my planting?
How did it get there?
These are a mini flower, and ever so sweet…
They are growing everywhere. Just everywhere.
They are completely covering the ginormous agave, and twirling their way up prickly pear and weeds too…
We both stared in silence, Mister and I.
Afterwards I went over to my little, gallery meets office courtyard, and that's when I saw him…
You see, all summer, a furry flying creature has danced around my head. But I never could see him.
Until today…
I wasn't hallucinating 🙂
Isn't he beautiful?
Or maybe, he is a she?
I don't know.
Either way, it's beautiful.
Morning Miracles.
I know you experience them too.
Morning, afternoon, everyday…
They are happening all around us.
Do we open our eyes to see?
I'll tell you what…
While I was marveling in my garden, a few states away in Wisconsin, Sheila Novara was having her own awe-some moment…
She sent photographs, that I asked to share with you.
She said yes.
Monarch Butterfly birth, and chills.
That is all I can say….
Miracles.
Nature's Beauty.
Have you spotted a miracle lately?
If you think you haven't…
Just look in the mirror.
🙂
I know, I am a ball of cheese whiz, but it's true, so many miracles of nature.
Including you and me.
🖤,V
Off I skedaddle.
See you soon!
PS: Will you visit me at the Creative Connection Blog today? I was asked earlier this summer, to put together a post about what creativity means to me… It's live today, right here…
Click below to read Today's 3 (totally) random things…
Oh and… 3 Random Things
1) How many songs can you think of with the word "right" in them?
2) Right here waiting for you. (my first break-up song in junior high, oh jeez) Although, I think it was also In your Eyes… Silly young love 😉
3) Oh and, what about the Book of Right-on?

Vanessa:
That moth is simply awesome! I’ve never seen anything quite like it. It does remind me of a Luna Moth, but they’re green.
It is so refreshing to see someone enjoy their simple Everydays the way you do. In today’s world, it’s so easy to get caught up in all the broken and ugly “stuff”. You always manage to remind me of what’s really important….Thank You!! 🙂

Those flowers are as blue as the cotton candy sky today! We have lots of morning glory winding up and down the flower bed (actually a bed!) trickling down the bedposts…. 🙂
We were driving down our road today, (not in the country, we live in a town) and as we stopped at the turning there was a sparrowhawk sitting on a pigeon. We stopped next to it, wound the window down and exchanged stares and took pictures for a good 5 mins. It wasn’t scared in the slightest and just stared away as if daring us to take it’s dinner! Fantastic!
I am speechless, Miss Vanessa
The morning glory vine is magically amazing!
Where in the world did it come from?… Baby is channeling herself through the morning glory vine for sure…straight to you with enormous bursts of energetic love!!! (And for the morning glory to cover up that horrible fence is ironic). Ha! Ha! to your neighbor. Hee! Hee!
The moth is absolutely divine too! Have you ever read a very old book called ‘The Girl of the Limberlost’ by Gene Straton-Porter? She talks about moths and one of them is a Cleopatra moth that is purple and yellow, a very rare moth. Your moth looks rare too. Maybe you’ll be able to find the name of your moth on-line. And the butterfly emerging from the cocoon is glorious! What sweet magical creatures these flying beauties are! Sigh…what a lovely post.
I’ll email you with my adventures at the flea market : )
I missed the entire weekend of your posts, so I’m going back to see what I missed!
hugs,
Miss Teresa
Years ago while vacationing in Iowa, I had an encounter with thousands of Monarch’s. I was having dinner on a farm, and out near the corn pasture was a grove of trees. I walked out there after dinner and up in the branches of these trees were thousands and thousands of butterflies, just hanging there sleeping/resting. I went over to one of the trees to give it a shake(it was massive, what was I thinking) but nothing. I so badly wanted to see them wake up, so I gently threw small pebbles into the leaves to see what that would do, and lo and behold, they all woke up! they fluttered and danced and surrounded me, flew around me, landed on my shoulders and hair, in my hands….it was so moving it makes me cry now, writing this. After a while, they flew back up into the branches and leaves, and went back to their slumber. I later learned they migrate to South America or somewhere, but that they die and regenerate while in that migration process. So the ones I saw and danced with would not make it, but their offspring’s offspring would. Something like that..anyway, one of the most precious miracles I have encountered!

Awwww…I have tears I tell ya…real tears!! Your morning glory vines are wonderful and so so lovely 🙂
I loved your creativity post, very special!
I truly enjoy your guided walks around your garden and discovering its treasures; I’m sure you must pass some of your magic onto the flowers and vegetables while you’re watering them 🙂
woooow… one furry butterfly and one being born!
I saw an amazing butterfly a while ago. It had big purple wings which looked like velvet with yellow edges. The face and the sides of the wings were gold! I carried my camera as usual BUT it had a 50mm manual lense and while I adjusted the focus, the butterfly left.
Wow miracles indeed! Beautiful Baby vine, amazing butterfly birth and sweet teardrop moth. (my name-I have no idea really!) x
Your Moth is gorgeous!! 🙂 She’s a Hubbard Silkmoth. I found you a link if you want to read about her…

I couldn’t help it. I have a thing for Moths more than butterflies. That’s the name that God calls me…
Happy day,
shay
You are quite simply lovely.
That’s all there is to it.
And Baby is so blooming right in front of you. What a blessing.
Enjoy the day!
Erin
Oh Vanessa, I was excited about your discovery right along with you…what a wonderful morning..yep today is going to be a wonderful day indeed! This morning we saw Rainbow Lorikeets and yesterday it was Kookaburra’s outside kaka ka ak kaahing away…there is a little bit of magic in every day really truly.
Kiss Noises Linda ( oh yes and they are awesome pictures of the butterfly)
What a truly amazing story…There is an angel flying around you and you know who it is. It is her way of communicating with you. She will come in different forms. You will recognize her each time. When you recognize her speak to her.
I must say beautiful pictures
You are a very special person.
This is a beautiful set of photos! Really lovely – thank you for sharing!
What a fabulous Vine choosing to contribute beauty to an area that you weren’t initially thrilled about… I adore Vines… and this one is magnificent. I’ve found that when a Vine is growing on, against or up anything… it adds beauty to whatever it has chosen to Grace… no matter how plain, dilapidated or ugly it might have once been before the Vine coupled with it to create a living masterpiece! Yes, little Miracles are all around us… just waiting to be discovered and appreciated.

We have such a sad thing happening now in wis. butterflies are so plenty on the side of the road and fly into the cars. It is really hard to take. Does that sound too very weird to say friend? I just feel soo terrible about it. Ahh… well. Just gorgeous to come here and rest my mind dear one. Thanks. Blessings.
Lovely post. I quite often blog about the miracles that I see on our farm….so many amazing things surround us each and every day! So happy that your morning glories are so glorious! They are one of my favorites and grace my garden fence.
Love to stop by your blog for a bit of loveliness!!

Oh my whiskers – such beauty all around!!! Morning glories blown there as a wish to cover something dreadful….a moth bringing beautiful subtle colors….and a monarch reborn…..ah, what a beautiful post!
Purrs!
Romeo and “her”
Little blue flowers of love in a flow,
Rolling and spinning across silence to grow.
A moment in time, dressing the line,
Matches and memories reeling sublime.
How can I ask her to return right here,
Holding her for a moment in silence so dear.
A bark, a laugh, a hello mama let’s go,
First light this morning cheer.
Grandma and pa rings around the moon,
I will remember this desert garden’s blooming tunes.
Hi Vanessa,
What beautiful morning glories! It truly is a sign. What else could it be??? Your beautiful Baby is here with you still. Love is eternal and it manifests in some many different ways. 🙂 I don’t think I have ever seen such a phenomenal set of photographs! They are just amazing. And what a beautiful little winged lovely who comes and visits with you. I’ve never quite seen anything like it. This post got me all misty-eyed, Vanessa. But in a good way. 🙂 Nature IS a miracle.
xoxo Theresa
It’s late and I can think of no random things for you tonight. 🙁 I’m so tired I cannot even think of songs including “right” in the title. Perhaps next time, ok?
Vanessa, I’m so glad you found the beautiful morning glory surprise to bring to mind your sweet Baby.
You asked if we’ve spotted a miracle today. One of God’s little miracles I really enjoy are our front porch lizards. I think they may be geckos, but I’m not sure. They are nocturnal, and I love looking to see if I can spot any on the porch walls at night. Many times I can see more than one, and the ones I usually see are cute little things. They must be babies. Occasionally we will see one in the house. Eek! We usually never know what becomes of them, but I always hope that they somehow find their way back outside! Anyway, I am a lover of these little guys. Just ask my hubby.
It was such a nice surprise to find another post from you so soon!
Oh my, that butterfly hatching is amazing…I wonder how long it took? And your morning glories…aaawww it is Baby 🙂 What a wonderful post Vanessa, thank you for sharing your little miracles with us!
Jamie 🙂
You have made an oasis in the desert. A green spot in the dust. Your place is beautiful. Says someone who lives in a country of forests and lakes. Hugs /Therese
Vanessa your Morning Glory vine is simply divine (oooh it ryhmes!)I believe in my heart that is Baby sending you much beauty and love and I bet that magnificent moth is a gift from her too. My grandma believed that moths (especially the big beautiful ones) were sometimes souls of loved ones stopping by to say hello. Sometimes they’ll land on you and try to give you a kiss! Thank you for sharing those amzing photos. Nature is indeed full of lovely miracles.
Anna
Oh nature’s miracles are fast in my mind these days, as you know! 🙂 What a beautiful postlette, My Dear!!
It is deep autumn:
My neighbor…
How does he live, I wonder
Morning gloriousness vine is triumphing over chain link hardness…..
Oh wow! The pictures of the butterfly matching are beautiful. I remember that back in elementary school my class had a bunch of cocoons. We watched our little “class pets” hatch from their cocoons and into butterflies. Then we released them outside. It was magical.
Hi!! I just found your blog, and I think it is glorious!! I’ll be coming back, definitely 🙂
Oh love 🖤🖤🖤 Love where you are at this exact moment in your life, love where I am too. Love that you helped bring me here! Oh love love.
**blows kisses** Deb
V,
Can I tell you that I LOVE you? Would that be weird? I hope not because it’s true.
At this moment in my life things aren’t going the way I’d like them to. Something has happened that has left me feeling “broken” inside. Broken hearted, disappointed, sad and blue. I can’t seem to get beyond it. It changes the way I look at things, feel about things. I’m a sad, tired, worn out woman right now.
I know it’ll pass. I’m strong. I’ll figure out how to deal with things in my head. Life will change again and it’ll be ok.
Meanwhile, I keep coming to visit you. You bring me color, light, growing things and laughter. I adore your photos, the way you look at life and the 8 year old girl in you that talks to the 8 year old girl in me. Thank you so very much for this place where I can rest my brain, my heart, my worries. Thank you for a few moments of peace and pleasure.
Love,
V
Baby is definitely your guardian angel! Your garden is full of magic!
Your miracles are so beautiful! Thanks for sharing the magic of your garden.
Beautiful post. Warmly, Karen
The birth of the butterfly is wonderful and your story about your miracle flowers made me smile: here, in France, where I live (Vercors… look on a map!!) the place is nearly always green and we have no problem to grow any green plants… well hardly any: this summer was very dry and the flowers are small, they have missed water a lot! Fancy having only cactus and dust!!!That is magic for me!!!
The moth is PRETTY!
Who ever heard of a pinkish moth?
This is so strange, but your post throws me back.
“Right Here Waiting for You” is a pathetic song a friend and I used to play on the piano and wail whiny-ly along to and mope over boys.
AND the first time I was ever allowed to wear makeup,
I wore moth colored makeup……gray eyeliner and frosty pink lipstick. A la’ Love My Eyes and Love My Lips, for sure.
Like totally for sure.
Right?
Miracles upon miracles!!! Love your newest Morning Glory! She is beautiful! And that moth is amazing! Yes such sights to see…we simply have to look around us and wonder!!!
Hugging you
SueAnn
