Weekends rumble by.
Where do they go?
For all the great abundance in the garden, it really is the little nosegays that make a person happy.
Don't you think?
Little things make us take a moment to notice.
Littl things here, there and everywhere.
I spent all weekend in the studio.
Brush washing aplenty.
Tiny tiny little details here and there.
Someone who sticks very close to me always.
Under my feet as I paint.
Wanting to be with me, but left alone.
That's his way of loving.
But every so often, he just might sneak up on me looking for love.
And of course, I drop everything for a Matty hug.
Both boys follow me around like baby chicks.
Rarely are we apart.
Friends who live in Guatemala and here, always lavish us with gifts upon their return.
This time, a beautiful scarf and Guatemalan chocolates…
But not just any chocolates.
Chocolates with bits of chilis inside.
It's magic in your mouth, the explosion of not too sweet chocolate and spice.
Oh my!
Click!
Got him again.
Wild salmon dinners.
Flawless method of pan searing for 3 minutes and baking for 8, pan and everything.
Just flawless and wonderful.
The recipe/tips are here amongst these older posts.
Along with a lot of ka-ringe worthy photos I forgot I had posted of my silly self.
Hello silly me, eek, ick!
You can make most any fish with this method, it's wonderful.
Well, here we are…
Fresh new week.
I wonder what will be in store?
I have taken to waking up extra extra early for my walks.
When the air is still cool, and the sun has not yet come over the mountains.
The clouds dance in pinks and goldens.
Soo many roosters are singing and owls hooting at that time.
Not to mention the crickets.
It's perfection.
However, I am now the lady that falls asleep at 7:45 p.m.
I have paint waiting for me so I best skedaddle.
5 paintings at once, that's what I have going on.
Madness.
Loooove, V
See you soon!
What have you been up to?
I always tell you about me, but what about you?

The summer flowers helping as the lil moments fly.
Here and there colors flare and oranges sigh.
Moist pieces of, no sugar added, flakey delicous apple pie.
String guitars tunes wispy voices making room,
For a summer lullaby to softly morning footsteps.
A bean stalk of scarlet red landed next to bamboo,
Gardenias blossomed out with dahlias crews.
Early to bed , early to rise over here 2.
Summer Goddess You.
I have been busy with yard work, thrift and antique stores, and attempting to post on my blog weekly. This is better for me now that I have stopped trying to focus on a specific anything. I just post what I want…what I think is fun. I’ve also rediscovered my love for fashion dolls. I really like the Monster High ones, even the knock-off ones…guess it stems from my love of Halloween!
I’ve been reading Star Hawk’s Spiral Dance while enjoying the cool mornings outside. By mid morning though, I’ve got to hide from the sun. My pale skin can’t take too much of it!
Lovely post as always!
Hi V!
Its been a very busy weekend….. Friday had walkways poured and shopping to do ..Saturday brought company that left Sunday….Cooking on the grill…making jalapeno poppers…. Early morning walk….Sunday rest…..So nice to visit with you! Hugs! deb
Happy Monday! I’ve been busy with my itty-bitty garden (trellis-building), making tiny dollhouses, hooping and hanging out with my hubby (we saw the X-men movie this weekend – I have a secret love-affair with anything Marvel). I have a busy week with more dollhouse stuff, garden fun and then not-so-fun stuff, like shampooing our bedroom carpet. =) Enjoy your week!
Joyfully, Donna
Nosegay! What a wonderful noun that is, and one I’d entirely forgotten to use when describing my little bundles of roses for the kitchen table! Which hubby LOVED, by the way! Here is my story of Roses in Whiskey Barrels from this weekend: http://whatamberloves.com/2014/06/20/a-story-of-roses-in-whiskey-barrels/ My Monday is passing quickly! It’s already 10:30, here. One daughter has guitar practice this morning, a second has swimming practice this afternoon, and the third just rides along with me on these adventures. 🙂 ~Amber
I spent the past several days puppy sitting for my brother’s brood. It’s been almost 4 years since I had a dog so I’d forgotten what it is like to have one. He has three so it was very intense and overwhelming. They are such good babies, but I’m just not used to the invasion of personal space anymore. Plus, for some reason they all want to sleep with their faces under the covers…eek! Now I’m down to the last 8 days before moving! Arrgh!
love & blessings

ps…hugs & kisses to Matty and Miles!
Hi, I was just wondering if I could be added to the Mad Tea Party list…my blog is called Sunday Post. I left a comment on your invitation post but I thought I’d leave one here as well just to be safe. Thanks!

{{{ just popped in to head*pat Matty
&
to smell the roses… }}}
🙂
Loved this post. Cute dogs and lots of yumminess. Only a couple of weeks left now! 🙂
What a gorgeous dog, he looks so sweet! I love your work in progress with the blossoms! I love the flowers, your decor is very arty!
Lovely nosegay…I always love them but hate cutting the flowers to make them!
So pretty! I love making those little bouquets too! I love how involved your dogs are in your creative work. I worked on my room, the party, packing, gardening, and I will be watching my niece at the end of the week.
Chocolate + Chili = delicious!! That salmon looks so yummy. I’m still trying to brainsurf for the Tea Party. Eventually, it will take shape.
I’m happy that it’s Summer. The sunshine and longer hours makes everything special.
Vanessa:
I dropped by for a visit because I needed to see beautiful photos and read beautiful, inspiring words. I always feel better when I’m visiting you.

Gerushia’s New World
Little days of this and that make the world better.
Me-watching my grands grow.
Trying out new recipes today to use up some of the things from the garden. Buying Sure-jell to make blackberry jelly, jars to put it in and lids for canning green beans. Freezer bags for the corn.
Trying to stay positive in a world that can change by the minute. My youngest sister has just been diagnosed with cancer. Prayers instead of giving in to the what ifs. Just as many of those little days of simple this and thats as I can find.
There is something so very special about getting up early of a morning to see a sunrise. It always reminds me of the times my dad and grandpa would drive for four hours to get to Black Meadow Landing on Lake Havasu where it would be 120 degrees by noon, and we would go to a small cafe near the landing and get a date shake. Those were the carefree days I grew up in. Sometimes we would have ham and eggs at a restaurant along the way. There were no fast-food restaurants back in those days. Everything was done on a grill in the cafe and the food would come out smelling heavenly. Then the ‘guys’ would go out fishing at the landing and we would have a fish fry later on in the housekeeping cabin we were staying at which had a stove and kitchen. We would have fish, and fried eggs, and cantalope, the next morning too, which my uncle would douse his eggs AND cantalope with tons of pepper! Which is a Texas ‘thing’ to do, I was told.
Anyhow, I have been making plum and apricot jam for the past two weeks, off and on. The fruit has been ripening way too fast to keep up with all of it. But I have canned what I was able to.
Your salmon looks divine; your painting is magical; and Matty looks all laid back and comfortable.
Just the post I needed to remind me that life is good!!!
hugs,
Miss Teresa
Your paintings are looking so beautiful detailed lately. And I think you look fabulous in those pictures Miss V 😛 Things around here have been quiet but busy. I’ve been taking an extra massive summer course load so I can take less courses in my senior year of uni! Two of them are correspondence courses which are sooo much more work than a regular one I am finding. Fitting in art, and walks, and blogging! Gotta keep doing the things that keep me sane 🙂
