Green is everywhere.
All shades and textures.
With pops of color here and there.
I am finishing up some paintings.
They are so dear to me.
They are happy paintings.
From such delightful fairy tale lovely day places in my heart.
Early morning walks show a little pop of party color in the veggie garden out back.
Wild zinnias are growing everywhere in there.
Yay!
I am also tending girl to all manner of succulents and cacti.
Pumpkin blossoms.
The other day I had this flash spark memory of pumpkins and early autumn.
And I got a little flutter of butters in the belly.
Mama hummingbird always meets me for my waterings after my walk.
White hollyhocks turned up by the many.
As vines crawl up and over and under and along.
I can't wait for monsoon season to really do something.
Those big rains make everything blow up madly.
We are waiting.
Nibbling basil, picking zinnias and watching babies, of the pumpkin variety, grow.
Oh also…
Been meaning to say.
I bought a Climbing America rose bush a couple months ago.
And might I say, it is growing so fast and so beautifully.
Amazing for the first year.
I recommend it.
It has new bright coral roses everyday.
And while other rose bushes see their roses get fried at first noon sun-
The Climbing America roses last for days.
Mind you we are in a record of 30+ days of over 100' temps.
So, that says a lot about these blooms.
(I made a little metal wire enclosure so the rabbits have not been able to gobble her down)
I hope they crawl over the fence.
Where I live, since people have goats and horses and chickens (and more), most people have sturdy metal fencing like chain link or barb wire fencing still remaining, now vintage or antique even.
Well, we were going to change our front fence which is metal (we have walls on sides) to a charming wooden fence, but the honeysuckle and vintage roses blew up and are covering most of it.
Dreamy!
So, I planted that Climbing America amongst them, and now I am sooo glad we didn't put in a white wooden fence.
Because now all the plants can grow over, and have a place to climb.
Looks so pretty.
Supposedly the Climbing America will grow 15 feet wide or more.
Imagine?
I hope it all works out before gophers discover it.
Oh oh, here's something random.
A guy in a plane flying right over my house.
Miraval is right down the street from me.
Do you know Miraval?
It's a hidden spot where famous folks like to go to get away.
So we do see helicopters taking people there all the time.
But it's not every day you see a guy just cruising around in his lil' plane.
Fun!
Anywhoooo, it's 7:21 a.m. and I already went for an hour walk and tended all my gardens.
Yes, I was up at 4.
It was so nice to feel cool air at that time, since days are scorching.
Wells, time to paint.
I will be back very soon.
Love, V
ps: Here is some info. on that rose bush.

…..fairy tale lovely day places……you do have a beautiful heart, Vanessa!
you always paint lovely pictures with your words…..
Have a wonderful day painting! The early spring green has deepened and enriched to a wonderful summer green, simply lovely! The climbing rose promises to be a definite American beauty. I sooo want a climbing rose, someday for sure!
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie
I remember hearing about that resort on Oprah!!! And thinking, oh, Catalina, that is where Vanessa lives! It just goes to show how beautiful it is there if they put a gorgeous resort there! I have been loving the green, it is all trees and leaves and beauty around here. Taking many forest walks!
Vanessa:
That new rose is over the moon gorgeous. I can imagine how pretty the big fence must look with all the lovelies growing up and over.
I have some pumpkin babes too, but my vines are much smaller. I’m only growing Wee B Littles. I don’t have as much gardeny room as you do. As you know, I’m stuck in the suburbs! My zucchini are amazing, though!
I love the zinnias mixed in with your pumpkins. It looks gorgeous! I am learning to love zinnias more and more the older I get. They remind me of you and of my aunt Alice. She kept zinnias planted alongside the dirt road that led to her house way up in the Ozark mountains. She also planted them all around her vegetable garden. So, they remind me of 2 very special girls….you and aunt Alice! 🙂

Gerushia’s New World
We have some hummingbirds visiting now but I’m not fast enough to catch them with my camera. I love the cooler mornings here as well for bird watching. We have feeders everywhere and the birds just flock!
I love the bicycle painting. A reminder of calming and quaint days.
My garden and flowers are not faring so well. We’ve had an abundance of rain.
A very interesting airplane. Quite unusual.
We’ve been waiting to see the blue angels flight team play overhead but they’ve been fogged out repeatedly.
Even fireworks were posponed last night.
Mother Nature is being fickle.
Please, please, come soon monsoons! It is so hot and I am having a hard time keeping things watered. Also our electric bill this month was almost $300! Insanely way too much, but we have to keep the a/c on during the day so our pup doesn’t overheat while we are at work. I think we will be broke by the end of the summer 🙁 Also it is super exhausting doing roller derby outside on cement when it is over 100 degrees. Yes I am a big complainer, but I would just like it to cool down a smidge thank you!
Those flowers are beautiful. Very pretty.
We FINALLY had a garden again (after moving) but it was short lived. The heat/humidity and thousands of grasshoppers have killed everything already. 🙁
I’m ready for fall!
Kristin
Your rose is beautiful. Hope those bunnies don’t eat it.
Love seeing the guy in the plane, that is close.
I have heard of Miravel and dreamed of going there; but then
I am not rich or famous. Oh well, a girl can dream. Dreaming
of a Mad Tea Party soon, now if it would stop raining so I can
set it up outside. Hopefully, soon, I am ready with things sitting
on my table waiting for the sun to shine.
Green is currently my favourite colour! I love how many shades of it exist in nature, they seem infinite! I love all the colours of the flowers, too!
Your painting is so small, delicate and beautiful!
I love, love, love watching humming birds…I bought a humming bird feeder last month, and I am still waiting. I’m having trouble with ants…oh my am I ever. I’ve sprayed the ground at the bottom of the pole and added vics vapor rub to some areas of the pole but…still ants ants ants..Any more advise?
I can’t wait to see your paintings.
My patio is being power washed and painted so I brought all My plants inside after washing them off. Some are pretty big too,it was a chore but worth it.Now that I have them inside I think they’re even prettier and I’m loving it.Just want You to know I read and enjoy each of Your posts even if I don’t comment all the time. You are a joy.Love goes out to You-Denise
Hey Miss V! I can’t wait to see what you’re painting – I’m kind of obsessed with bicycles lately and workin’ on a lil’ sumthin’-sumthin’ myself. I love roses…we have some in our yard and no sooner did they bloom they died and it’s never as hot here in maryland as it is where you are – pretty sad.
There was a hidden resort above Placerville, Ca where famous folk would helicopter in some quite ridiculous things, such as a grand piano which slipped and fell right into a small lake, in front of some of our friends who were vacationing at the lake and the wife who was watching the grand piano fall into the lake, was in hysterics as she was a very good pianist. Such a waste of a beautiful piano! Sunk in a lake!
We arrived at that same place a few days later, and the wife told all about the incident. It was crazy! It is interesting you have a place very near you where the ‘rich and famous’ go. Is Mr Lovee rich and famous??? Hee! Hee!
Any who…I have many succulents too, and they are flourishing and propagating all over the place. I need to transplant the ‘babies’ to their own planters. I have a favorite place to buy succulents when we go to Morro Bay. I try to buy a few different varieties every time I go there, to add to my collection.
I love all of your greenery!
XO
Miss Teresa
Love your photos! I can only dream of aspiring to it. **wishful thinking** 🙂
