She couldn't help loving the pig, it spoke to her. Life would never be the same after knowing him 😉

I just want to play with pigs and snails all day…
I got all my parcels out in the mail yesterday- project pieces too. Phewwwww – what a whirlwind of wonderment… It inspired a feast for dinner. Baked beets tossed in their carmelized tops with a drizzle of lemon (cooked seperately, then reunited). A beautiful salad and yams and filet mignon… We are soooo bad… Mister Lovee was a vegetarian for 30+ years. I was only one for 4 years. I guess, we aren't anymore… Ooops.
Now all I want to do is play in the garden. It is in the 70's and beautiful. I guess the truth is, I am not a cold climate girl. I thought I was, but, I am not. The cold snap we had was enough for me…
Wish I could spill the beans on all of the project stuff I shipped out. But, then we wouldn't have anything to look forward to… Plus I have that other secret that I have been promising to share since last April. If I could just get my act together and spruce it up so you could enjoy it 😉 ;) I will, soon enough… It isn't that huge of a secret… You'll see… (I can't stand it when people leave me hanging like that, sooory 😉
The studio is a wreck. A total ship wreck I tell you… Things are a complete cross between Grey Gardens and Paradiso Perduto. Sans the cats – I am allergic… I'll have to perfect my Tea for Two if this goes on any longer… By the by, did you hear? Grey Gardens is a movie, not yet released… With Drew Barrymore playing Little Edie… We'll have to see about that for sure… I don't know how I feel about it yet…
Soooo, on the schedule today is tidying up the studio. Where, I have a surprise for you!! I climbed my storage cabinet to go through three shelves of cigar boxes… Why you ask?
To choose the perfect one to fill with…
Bits and baubles, trinkets and treasures, things to make things with… A Giveaway, yes indeed… It could be fun, you might want to join in 😉 😉

I actually did something good. I took out my other 3 wheel bike, the red one, and gave it a bath this morning…
And, oh my goodness, I found an incredible treasure under it. I will show it to you soon… I thought I had lost it, but it was under the bike for the better part of a year…
So, I have my costume of the day on… And I am off to make some sense of it all…

ps: On costumes – Don't worry, I am not off my rocker. I have been dressing up for the day, in costume, since I was old enough to ask for a curly auburn wig and high heels. So, about 4 years of age. Once my parents went on a trip and left us with the nanny, who was a total bore. So, I spent the entire 3 days in costume on the roof. Where my parents flipped out when they saw in the distance from the road, on their way home, a strange red head on the roof. "Twas I. Oh, there are so many stories. I should be ashamed, but I ain't 😉
pss: It was wayyyyy too lovely to stay inside today… I spent it under the trees with the mild beautiful sun. Some paint and bliss… Now I am going to light the chiminea. Arizona, I love you!!

we almost fainted at the sight of your cigar boxes!! we went into a second hand/ collectables shop that was having a sale (or so she says)all these glorious treasures but they were just toooooo expensive. each kewpie doll was $20 and that is on sale! we have one here that my sister bought for my youngest for $11 with a bonnet!!!! anyhoo she had a number of cigar boxes but she just had them priced way too high, like $28 for something that could barely be described as a cigar box certainly not as perfect as yours. so i guess you can tell that mister moo and i would love to be in your draw!! keep on dressing up we love it %*_*% rosey

Oh I DO think that you are so lucky —-to be able to dress up in such pretty frilly clothes. At home here today it started out at 2 ( 5:30 am ) and went down to 0 by 7 o’clock —burrrr! I’m decked out in my flannel lined jeans ( New for Christmas and I think I won’t take them off until April, maybe May ), turtleneck and BULKY wool sweater, furry lined boots. How do you always find these treasures with the blue birdies? I love all the colors in that plump porky pig…and the strawberry snails are so sweet.

Oh those little snails are too darling for words and I’m not really a snail kinda girl…slimy little things leave trails everywhere and decimate my lovely creeping herbs.
I love the bit about the costumes…growing up my sister hated going anywhere with me because she said I never dressed but got “decorated” and it was soooo embarrassing for her to be seen with me. I love those two snails. I love love love them! I wish I were better with clay, because then I would make all sorts of cute creatures for myself. I’m obsessed with boxes and containers, whenever someone in my family gets a new pair of shoes, I steal the box. I used to live very close to Ybor City, in Florida. (its an old historic town, that used to be nothing but cigar factories) and the factories would just throw away the most beautiful cigar boxes. Remember when making cigar-box purses was the fad?

I LOVE the little snails as well as that adorable piggy. Love, love, love little piggies!!! What a delightful post today. The 3 wheel bike reminded me of one I used to get to ride when I visited my Grandparents who lived in Tucson – ages ago!! Those were such fun to ride. Big grown-up tricycles! Everyone had them in Tucson. NO one has them in Chicago….;o(

Oh Vanessa, I would bring the guacamole, salsa, chips and the margharitas if only I could be there to enjoy your wonderful weather in your lovley garden. It was 0’F, yep, 0’F this morning when I went to work and 30 below was the real feel. So here I sit enjoying a hot cup of yummy coffee and sitting snug on my sofa.

The pig is precious…and quite fancy as well! It’s been beautiful up here as well…I’ve been opening the door to Snap Snap for the past couple of days and letting in all the fresh air…sigh.

Oh cigar boxes, sigh. When I was a little girl (about 100 years ago) I filled my cigar boxes with crayola crayons. I still can feel the thrill whenever I see cigar boxes. I love your little pig and your snails too. As always you spin a magical tale. Happy studio time.

That pig is so so cute!!! So how does one be a vegetarian for 30 or 4 years and come back ’round to eating meat? I have been a strict vegetarian for 2 months and when I think of biting into meat my teeth get bothered. I keep wondering if I will ever go back to meat and what it would be that would cause that to happen? I don’t eat eggs or cheese either, but I think quiche could make me fall off that wagon pretty easy. Or even baked brie with caramelized apples. Yum!
