It's been a glorious entry into November.
Cool breeze, warm sun, chilly nights.
The warm sun is intoxicating when the evenings and mornings are so chilly.
I find myself bewitched by the gentle autumnal shift in the garden.
I light my Dia de Los Muertos vignette every evening.
The mixture of lingering summer colors and autumnal golden tones swirls together to create the most glorious infusion of color.
I take my walks around our path, passing our big pecan trees.
Stealing a pecan or two and cracking them open on a rock.
The golden sunset is so lovely.
The music in my Ipod changes.
My whole feeling in my mind, body an soul slowly shifting.
We relax and enjoy the color burst.
Summer trying so hard to still hold on…
But its grip loosens ever so slowly, despite its best efforts.
We absorb every last morsel of flower power.
When blooms seem endless.
As autumn slowly trickles its way into Southern Arizona.
Not sure it can make up its mind.
There is a butterfly bonanza.
All shapes colors and sizes.
A couple fresh pumpkins turn up.
Confused.
Is it spring?
The giant white cosmos start to topple over in both the front yard flower garden and the vegetable garden out back.
And, if you find yourself in the vegetable garden just as sun sets…
Through the cosmos, you can see autumn.
Yes, yes.
There she is.
Gobs of marigolds turn up just in time for Dia de Los Muertos last weekend.
With roses and memories and good thoughts fluttering in unison.
I love seeing a tradition I grew up with making its way all over the world.
Embraced by so many.
What a beautiful thing indeed.
I love these days.
The garden cottage got a spruce up.
Fresh floor and wall paint.
Me washing all the linens and putting them back in.
Getting ready to cozy up in there again.
Less garden chores.
A much needed break.
More time to crochet and snuggle in.
I love these times upon us.
Each season holds such promise, such gifts.
All different, all grand.
Aren't we lucky?
To get to experience it all?

Don’t you just love the subtle changes in seasons southern Arizona brings. Queenie likey the quiet shift of season, no jolting shocks of suddenly thrust into winter. Perfection of climate in my book ;o)

So far this season brings Michigan, cool to cold temperatures, rain and windy conditions. The color of the trees now, are shades of brown. Most of the leaves are on the ground and we have to rake the yard for the 4th time. Winter is on its way as we had a few flakes of snow the other day. Your Autumn photos are wonderful as always and Matty still looks majestic guarding your gardens.

I love the change in seasons. I really do. Even when our weather forecast includes temperatures barely up to freezing in the daytime next week. Perhaps our backyard ice rink will be happening sooner than later! Your gorgeous gardens inspire us northern folks!
