In Search Of…

The heat has arrived as spring switches to summer for us.

We lollygag in the warmth, and make great huge wondrous plans.

(which includes some of you, if you wish, I dare say)

Growing garden 7

I sew up curtains from favorite nightgowns for tiny windows…

Growing garden 13

As filtered light glows in the wildflower garden.

Growing garden 1

Slowly we drift into thoughts of that place.

You know that place.

Dreaming, creating.

Hollyhocks dance in between stairs.

Matty, still trying to get well.

Growing garden 6

Blues pop up everywhere…

Growing garden 4

As rabbits make sure to mow down flowers like bears.

Gobbling and munching, wildflower sushi me thinks?

Growing garden 16

And yet we search.

We hunt.

We long for…

But what?

Growing garden 11

Can you guess?

What could it be?

When poppies and toadstools grow taller than you and me?

Growing garden 12

Everywhere you turn…

Growing garden 15

The land starts to morph…

Growing garden 8

Passion fruit scent wafting about, like an intoxicating perfume, makes us drunk.

Growing garden 10

Swaying and giggling, wait, what's that I see?

Between bird's eye and mountain garland…

Did that caterpillar just wink at me?

Growing garden 14

What are we in search of?

Oh what could it be?

Growing garden 2

In search of Wonderland?

OH YES YES, that's it!

Planning, and scheming and thinking you see…

About a 2013, Mad Tea Party!!!!

Alice

I have tricks up my sleeve.

News to come soon as can be.

Miles is so sleepy from thinking about it so much.

After a good bath, cuddling up is the place to be.

Growing garden 22

Warm moist air on my shoulder as I draw…

Growing garden 23

Sweet flowers take us back to that place.

Through the rabbit hole, don'tcha know.

Growing garden 5

When things get so quiet and slow, in these lazy days where summer meets spring…

Being in search of Wonderland is just the thing.

Matty 1

Now stop snapping my photo, I know what you are up to, says he.

Growing garden 9

Get out your old fashioned knee length lace knickers and granny's old recipe for punch.

Stack up the teacups, crumpets – get ready to munch!

Let's plan!

The announcement nearer and near.

Another Mad Tea Party for you and me, are you in happy tears?

Planning.

Ooooo, me!

And you!

Under the trees!!

Get ready.

Excited?

Tell me, oh please!

🙂

Love, V

Sparkly heart

Vanessa, actually I am kind of excited about this! I just finished watching the 1915 silent film version of Alice in Wonderland at Pub-D-Hub Silent Films on my Roku. Oh, it’s so dreamy… I don’t think it’s very true to the story, but it was fun anyway. I found it very inspiring. I can’t wait! 🙂

  2. Carrie says:

WoW, I’m so excited! So excited indeed!!!
    Can’t wait!

  3. Your flower gardens look so beautiful, Vanessa! I really need to get myself going and pick up a few plants to plant here. A rosebush is at the top of my list. Yes, very excited to plan the next tea party! In fact, my daughter and I have been talking about it for a couple of months now, planning and plotting. We’ve got some new friends that will be joining in with us this year and we are realy looking forward to it!

  4. Annalee says:

Yay, yay, YAY!!! I am definitely in happy tears!!! I look forward to this every single year… and this year is no exception! =D
I had a tea party for one last year, and all my friends were so sad… lolz… This year I shall have a nice party for all of us again, methinks… Going to start planing & plotting immediately! =D
Hugs & faerie dust kisses! ^-^
    XOXO

  5. Count us in, Vanessa, dear! Leo and Cyrus and Tallulah and me! It may just me “me and the three”, but we are excited! I even have a new-old gold polka-dotted teapot…:)
Matty looks so regal in that pose with the blue flowers!
    Hugs,
    Anne and the Kitties <3

  6. Squeal!!! Oh! Goody!!! Another adventure into Wonderland…I can hardly wait!!!
You sure caught me by surprise on this one. It is hard to believe it is already the middle of May…tell me Vanessa? Where does ‘Time’ really go when it is used up? Do you think there is a big vortex that sucks ‘Time’ into a cocktail soup of sorts and at some point it is all going to be spewed back into a waking dream where we will totally wake up and there will be our true reality, the beautiful journey all laid out for us just the way we pictured?… with our dreams and fanciful thoughts for us to re-live again? Maybe it goes to a real Wonderland and that is where our dreams stay for us to capture in another life. That must be it. For I have such whimsical imaginings every day, and those magical thoughts have to be stored somewhere for a future date of absolute pure JOY!!! It has to be so… don’t you think so too?
    Miss Teresa in Wonderland
    waiting for that perfect ‘Time’
…until then…I will have a blast at your blog party!!!

Your surprise is making me smile. Tis the season.. and right on time. Oh, to venture out and find some new things.

  9. Admit it…you go to the hair dresser and show them photos of Miles and say,
    “THAT color.”

  10. OMgoodness Laura, you are right!
    I hadn’t noticed.
Maybe I am his real mother????
    Imagine?

Oh 0hohohohohohoh!! Don’t get me started!!

  11. I thought we should be getting close to Mad Tea Party time. I do look forward to it. I promise to behave myself this time (maybe ….)

    Oh Dear Miss Vanessa,

Your lovely gardens just make my heart soar and the pictures of your Lovely Boys as well!! With so much time on my hands now, I am so looking forward to the Mad Tea Party this year!!!
