To our 5th annual Halloween party!!
This is such an exciting time of year.
Autumn is in the air, and for those of us who love Halloween…
It doesn't get any better than the magical feeling it brings.
We are having a garden Halloween party at the cottage, do come in!
Scarecrows, pumpkins and orange lights galore…
Ribbons and treats, and oh, so much more!
This party is for you, jump in 1 2 3…
If you really believe, you could actually dream yourself here, yes indeed!
Oh, I see you now!
Welcome welcome, to our tiny town.
Boys arrive in furry costumes…
So realistic, they almost had me fooled!
There are oodles of treats.
Enough for seconds and thirds for sure!
Don't miss the warty caramel apples on apricot tree branches.
Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes are great guests.
As the spooky Queen Cake hand shows up to taste test!
Not to mention, bugs in frosting are just the thing…
To make your worldly palate sing!
Green witch cake gruel!
(just put food coloring in your cake batter – I used lots of green and a little blue)
And a vampire clown or two, too.
Spells and potions as you wish…
And the orange flame candle, lit for a year of bliss!
Or six.
Locked up nice and safe, are…
The witch fingers themselves.
Folks travel near and far, for a taste so sweet, it's hard to beat…
Unexplainable power bestowed when nibbled, they say.
So take a bite, eat it whole, go ahead, pave the way!
(I made these fingers, and dusted them -using a paintbrush- with powdered cocoa before putting them in the oven. Recipe links and tips at my other blog, here)
Don't be shy, I say.
Now plunge for sure, okay?

Sparkle and magic and imaginations running wild!
Fantastical treats and moments in time we await, year after year…

The end of October, a time of year so vastly dear.
Our childhood comes by for a visit.
And in some miraculous way, we feel free to unleash our true selves.
Although, Witchy says we should always carry it with us.
No matter the age.
No matter the time.
No matter what anyone says.
The magic is always within us…
Waiting to take a skipping stroll, a twist a tumble.
Let hair loose, and off we go!!
Dancing in circles under candle and moon light…
Cheers, cheers, cheeeers to the ghoulish world!!
Mayhem and merriment, clink to that, yes sireeee!
As night embraces us, and stars twinkle way up in the sky…
Anything is possible.
You don't even have to try.
It's there for the taking, a hearty dose of what you need.
Dreams, wishes, miracles, magic indeed!!!

Oooooohhhh shivers aplenty in the ghoolish party, but so much fun too! My personal favourite were the witches’ fingers. A little crunchy in the middle but left me feeling strangely otherworldly!!

Oh my gosh – it all looks so festive and magical, as usual! You always TRIPLE the Halloween joy into my heart. I especially love the orange and black gauzy ribbon on the gate – next to the large key. After I wiped the black tears from eyes (tears of joy) from the emotional and delightful visit to Broomsticks & Lace, and picking the walnuts out of my 3 remaining teeth from the candy apples served up at Cameron’s Party, I adjusted my stockings and strapped on my corn broom to jet over…I knew I should have picked Annie up along the way to take more stunning event pictures….

WHEW!!! What an impressive bunch of partyers this year. I saw some cute & lovelies, some terrific autumn photos, interesting stories, some with cool soundtracks, many delicious looking treats & some that were just plain freaky. While I don’t want to spot anyone out (I will anyway). As much as I hate watching scary movies I’d rather watch the Exorcist than find myself in DEBBIE-DABBLE’s house after dark. I think I dated her Witch back in ’73, that’s 1873. I was scared then too.

It’s been a worrisome week here (daughter in ER, cat in surgery and hurricane approaching) and everything else just went right out of my head!

What a most delightful spot for a Halloween soiree. So festive and colorful and just right for the day.
I’ve sampled and nibbled on yumminess galore and although I shouldn’t I then tasted some more.
well…I had a witches finger in one hand, little bundt cake in the other, when I saw a bat fly by and started running for cover.
So the food went a flyin’ it was quite a scene, the finger hit the grown and the cake landed on me.
I was laughing and laughing with frosting down to my lips so I wasn’t looking when I suddenly tripped.
I rolled over a pumpkin and in to the hay, straw sticking to frosting still covering my face.
I didn’t know what to do I thought by now I should go when someone came by saying “looks, its a dessert scarecrow”.
So I hope you don’t mind I made a bit of a mess but I had a BLAST, your parties are the best.

The cottage Halloween party is awesome!
I’ve fallen in love with the skeleton hand champagne flute glasses, fun beyond belief. A toast to Halloween and the season of magic and promises to come. For desert I’m definitely all about your witchy finger cookies. Life continues to be on the hectic side so my apologies for not coming and playing sooner but I’m sooooo glad there was some magic left for us late straglers.

Sweetie V !! LOVE all the orange! Orange is what I’m putting all around me, and the thing I love most right now, all the shades of orange, and you’ve really given rein to it here. I love those dracula cupcakes. And how did you do the witches fingers?! I know you said, but I don’t think I could ever get the ‘nails’ that color, or the knuckles so… knuckley! I love all of this, the candles, and the furry costumes…

P.s. Vanessa, I just wanted to let you know that my friend and I tried out the pumpkin bread recipe you posted a little while ago and it was delicious! We did end up modifying it a little bit though. First, we used a cup of Greek honey-vanilla yogurt instead of vegetable oil. Second, we used Splenda sugar substitute instead of real granulated sugar. Third, we used a little bit less of the Splenda sugar and more of the brown sugar. Also, we made our own pumpkin puree from pie pumpkins specifically for baking. I’m not sure what kind exactly they were, but it could affect the taste…I don’t really know. Anyway, the overall effect was fantastic! The bread went like hotcakes! It was so moist and delicious…tasted like Christmas! Thanks again for posting the recipe!
