Early in the morning, my crystal ball speaks to me…

It tells me of a treasure.  A treasure so special, a treasure, so you… (perhaps?)  Come with me…

Berry_3

We have a story to tell you, about what the crystal ball has to say…  Let me get my pet & his crown ready, and we shall tell the tale…

Berry_1

You see, the crystal ball speaks of all that is red, and plump and juicy…  A magic berry?  A berry so rare, it is found only, in The Fairytale Forest, it seems…

Yes yes, that is what I see…

Berry_2

You see, this berry was so marvelous, that the cobbler’s wife (they lived in The Fairytale Forest), being the seamstress she was, decided to capture the berry in art form…  In sewn, art form…

This berry did not just have leaves, oh no no no… No leaves, but velvet ribbons instead…

Berry_5

And perfect stuffed berries.  So perfect in fact, people would gather from near and far, to gawk at these glorious sewn fruits…

Berry_12

One day, it seemed that the Princess Berry Head, needed protection while crossing the forbidden woods, deep passed The Fairytale Forest.  So, the cobbler’s wife contacted the local Wizard (of course), and they added all sorts of magic to the berries.  And weaved them onto a carrying basket (known today as a handbag) so that she could be protcted no matter where she went, as long as she carried this magic woven creation, covered in magical berries…

But there was something even better to this story.  Anything that went into the woven carrying basket, would become magic also.

So, aren’t you lucky, that this morning, when I put my hand into the enchanted mirror, the Wizard himself, placed the very magic carrying basket, covered in berries, that was created for the Princess Berry Head, on my arm…

And urged me to bring it to one of you…

Berry_6

Yep, that’s right…  This weeks Thriftventure Giveaway!!  I know I know, I wanted to keep it, but I am not that greedy in real life…

Plus, it is sooo cute!!  And all those berrrrries!!!  So, leave a comment, and into the basket your name will go…

Vintage Berry love!  And, it is in good condition too…

Off I go, time to get ready – late for a lunch date!!  🖤 V

ps:  I will draw names on Sunday night or Monday morning…

pss:  I got back a very old computer, like 1996 old.  It had crashed, and I was wondering what was in it.  My tech saved all the info that was on it for me.  Well, there is a bevy of old school photos…  Including this…  I miss my Cabriolet!!  My parents gifted it to me, shiny brand new, white and sparkly when I was 15.  I drove it until it could no longer go…  I think I must have put over 100,000 "cruising only" miles on it.  That is what I am sitting in…  I wish we had kept it…  I traded it in for another convertible (white again) in 1999 (which I no longer have either).  Eeeeekkk, where has the time gone??

Vanessa_valencia_1994_blog

In 1994 all I wanted was to be 30.  And, here we are now (32)… haha!  Free as a bird and kooky as a nutcake – just as we had hoped 😉  And when they asked her, What do you want to be when you grow up?  I think she said, anything with the words bird and kooky in it 😉  Good thing, we never ever have to grow up. The realization of that, really is the true magical gift!!

psss:  Random note.  Mom’s are so special!  I love mine oooodles.  Today, we (me & Mombie) were Hidden in a "real" Italian place.  We got there at about 3:30 p.m., so we were the only ones there at first.  Chatting, sipping, chatting s’more.  Then some Italian people come in, carrying on with the owners in their lovely voices…  Dean Martin carried on in tune…  So gooooood!

Mammie’s camera phone photos of us being, real real naughty.  Don’t tell anyone 😉

Me.

Tiramisu_1

Mammie.

Tiramisu_3

No faces.  But I can tell you, they were happy.  This Tiramisu.  Perfection.  Not sweet.  Just perfect.  5 a.m. jogging. Vitello’s rocks

When I grow up, I want to be exactly who I really am 🙂 I don’t think I’ll ever quite get there, but as long as I keep getting closer, I’m happy 🙂
So far, I think I’m accomplishing that – and so far it seems like that person has a bit of kooky bird 🙂 Just ask Trina 🙂

Oh but you do weave such magical posts. Wonderful story dear Vanessa. What a wonderful find from your old computer. What do I want to be when I grow up? Well, I’m suppose to already be “grown up” but I don’t feel like I am so I will say I want to be just like you when I grow up. A wonderful fairy tale artist.

  10. Cassandra says:

30 is a curious age. I’ve always heard, don’t do this or don’t do that until you’re 30 because you tend to change and become settled and who you really are, blah blah blah. I don’t know if it’s true, but I’m holding off on tattoos and marriage until then 😉

  11. trina says:
