Doing & Doodle Days #2

The snow is gone and the ground is green, woo hooo!

Little sprouts everywhere.

I am sooo glad so many of you want to doodle with me.

Doodle 1

I used to keep journals, oh back beginning in the 2nd grade.

Me and my diary, telling it all my secrets.

Then having to rip up pages and burn them for fear my parents would read them.

Haha!

But, whilst doodling, I have been throwing in a few feelings and ideas swirling about.

Not major journaling though.

Not yet at least.

Right now I just want to mindlessly draw.

I don’t want to think about it, or hash anything out.

I just want to relax and unwind in the drawing.

Doodle 8

I doodled every night this week.

I had more peaceful rests at night because of it.

My mind was less full and thinking endlessly.

Doodle 2

Lovee was like, that’s a lot of stuff on those pages.

And I said, that’s nothing compared to how my brain feels 🙂

Doodle 4

Lots of you doodle already.

But have those of you who don’t doodle regularly, started again?

I am trying to figure out a way for us to share our doodles.

Doodle 12

You could send me photos/scans and I could upload them into an online album if you’d like?

Or, you can send photos and I can post them every so often in doodle blog posts?

I was going to start adding a little color to my doodles.

However I only did 1 heart.

I realized, I am still just in doodle mode, and not ready for color quite yet.

Doodle 5

I had a little glitter paint on hand.

But, I know my ink will smear, so, I am just going to stay in the doodle days for a tinge longer.

You?

Doodle 3

I am in this place right now where the doodling is strictly for therapeutic fun relaxing reasons.

And not for work.

I don’t want to have to think quite yet.

Doodle 13

So, here I am.

Setting a little bit of doodling time aside every evening.

(and sometimes more, because I just can’t help myself)

Doodle 11

Doodle 6

Doodle 7

Doodle 9

Doodle 10

Fill me in on if you are doodling too.

Sleeping better?

Having fun? Feeling blocked?

Not joining in yet?

Let’s chat in comments.

I’ll be there chatting, so if you want to peek back, feel free.

I am in a place myself, where my mind is searching for more shapes.

And, I feel this really intense calm and “zoning out” in all this doodling.

I am liking this.

A lot.

You?

Sparkly heart

Oh Vanessa, after reading about your first doodle I set about doodling too! And after a few days (I do have two littles I care for full time) I finally finished a page and it felt so so so good!
I would love to share my doodles! I took some pictures today and I was going to put them on my site, but maybe not, maybe I’d like to share them with you here instead!

  3. Yes, feel free to send them over.
In fact, I think I will upload them at the bottom of this post…..
That would be fun, to see what everyone is up to I think for sure 😉

You know, I’m looking at that 4th photo down and thinking what awesome coloring pages those would make. For adults and kids alike. 🙂

  10. Alli says:

Love your doodles 🙂 They are beautiful and so fun! I don’t usually doodle, but decided that I needed a project that I can just let go and have fun, and joining in on the doodling has done just that. Such a wonderful idea! Can’t wait to see where this leads to 🙂

  11. Theresa says:

Hello dearest! Your doodles are wonderful works of art! You know, when I was young – I would spend HOURS drawing my own little comic worlds. Pages upon pages of stories driven my art and words. Oh how I wish I had kept all those notebooks! Your doodles remind me of those doodlings of my own. 🙂 And how fun it would be to see what others are creating, too!

  12. Miss Linda says:

Yes, doodles are an amazing way to relax. I also find they help me sleep better and dream more vividly. Love your doodles, so very creative and happy. They make me smile. I almost forgot to tell you of my latest find, first I want to say that I use many of the same drawing tools that you do. I did find something fun, a brush tip marker. I have a fine one and a thicker one. they are a little hard to control but you get into it after a while. I stick to black mostly but do have a red one. They come in a variety of colors and quality.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful art, they are very stimulating.
You are the all and inspiring (OZ)…..Miss Vanessa

  13. Jess says:

I’ve found this is the BEST way of being creative and getting the flow back for people who get stuck with their art! I’ve been doing a drawing a day without any thought, just seeing what comes out and it’s really helped my painting. Great stuff! 🙂 xx

  14. Woooo hoooo Jess!! I am in full agreement with you 😉

  17. Your doodling is awesome! I use to doodle in high school on my PeeChee note book…lots of people would go by in the school hallways with their PeeChee (yellow folders) with paisleys designs galore in rad mod colors! Groovy! Then came the hearts, and the stars, and the daisies…kind of like ‘Lazy Day’ just right for lovin’ away’…what a day for pickin daisies…da, da, da, for saying right out love…I love you!’ song by the ‘Cow Sills'(probably still on you tube) Those hippie, flowerchild days…what a feeling back then. Santa Monica Beach, Malibu, Newport Beach, Laguna…all my favorite haunts as a teenager driving and riding around in my friends 57’ four door Chevy, driving down Pacific Coast Highway better known as PCH. ‘Those were the days my friend we thought they’d never end…’ (another 60’s song).
‘You make me feel like dancin’ I wanna dance my life away…’
See what your doodling has done for my brain??? Ha!!! I love it!
    Miss Teresa
    *******star sprinkles coming your way!

  22. Chelsy says:

I doodled today, first time IMO don’t know how long. It was so freeing! Thanks for the motivation and inspiration!

  23. Melody says:

Great doodles! You seem like a fabulously fun artsy girl, I’ve enjoyed my visit here! :))))

  24. Blocked. Fretting about another project.
Hey-when you add color, do you do it all on the computer?
I love pen and ink, but like you said-there is smearage.
And I’ve never found a non-smearing black ink I was happy with.

  25. Cori G. says:

Well look at you, you little doodling darling???!!!! And such cute doodling you do “-). Last semester I took a class that I fondly called my doodling and Noodling class, but alas, doodling and noodling seemed beyond my wee brains comprehension. But you my Fair Friendling are the Master Doodler or should I say, La Mistress de’ doodle (she said with her phony French accent).
Me thinks I’m inspired and shall try doodling again ‘-)!!!
    Love you Vanessa!!!!
    xoxo Cori

  26. Liz says:

    I love it!

  27. Chrissy says:

Can I be your new best friend? You are simply amazing and inspirational! Those doodles are awesome and I truly wish you would take every little bit and make a book or maybe a bunch of downloads on cd or something! Thank you for sharing yourself. I can’t return the favor as I’m not a drawing artist… my art lies somewhere else, and haven’t really found it yet. So keep up with the “doodles!”

  28. {{ oh
    oh so Happy
    to see
you are doing this —-> the doodle*dance
    as
    i am apt
    to call it …
a few posting back i read
    ((( Finding Yourself Back…)))
    and
meant to post Good Cheer to you
    but
as i was Suffering a Bit of The Same
    i did NOT send words
    of support
    although i meant
    to do so
    and
    DID so in my 🖤
    and
then Time flew as it always does
    so
    yes
    yes
    yes
    do this —> the doodle*dance
    and let your Body Heal
    and your Time Mend …
    the snow is meant–
    i do think–
to give you a bit of Time Out
    so you might find yourself
    ~~Anew~~
    and ~~Relish who you ARE
    in this better health~~
    or
    something like that …
    what
    what
    what
does a florida girl know of snow??
    you ask ???
    not much
    but
    clearly
    clearly
    a quiet white snow blanket
    and
    some clean white paper pages
    can help
    whatever needs help …
    thinking of you, dear !!
