Hi friends!
I am finally back, yippeeee!
I spent most of September in Europe and took some time to paint and decompress when I got back.
It's finally cooling down in the desert and inspiration is everywhere.
It's a good day when you can finally go outside and open doors and windows, magic!
So now that I have returned, I want to share a little something I meant to share last month.
I had an article in the last issue of Somerset Life…
I wrote up a little something called Creativity is Contagious!
I really enjoyed putting this together.
And so I thought…
We should celebrate with a giveaway, because it's been ever so long since we've done one.
And now that the holiday season is beyond upon us, with Halloween enchantment floating all about and autumn vibes wafting in with their deliciousness, it's time for some real old school fun.
So, simply say hello in comments to enter for the chance to own a copy of this magazine.
But also, I will include in the giveaway…
A print of your choice from my shop and a 5 card pack too.
There's over 200 items to choose from, so I think you'll find something you can enjoy.
Yipppeee yaaaay, time for some real fun!
I just adore this time of year, don't you?
When the heat starts to dissipate the plants come back to life, the dogs can go in and out running around and I can go roam outside with a cup of tea and a cardigan, squeeeeal, I just long for this for 6 months and now here we are again.
I'm deliriously happy my friends!!!
Welcome October and all good things.
Simply say howdy, hello, tell me how you are.
How's the weather?
What's bringing you so much joy right now?
Anything really, pop it into comments, and I'll enter your name into the hat.
Lots of love from me to youuuu!!
xoxo,
Vanessa

Congratulations on the article! Creativity is contagious! I was just thinking of you as I glittered teacups full of pumpkins the other day!,
Congratulations! I adore your creativity. It brings me much joy! Kolleen
Happy October to you, and welcome back! Though it’s rainy with a chill in the air in Kansas, my big excitement is that I’ve finally, after years of trying, grown my very own pumpkins! You might say it’s the little things that make me happy, but honestly, they’re bigger than I expected! I’m looking forward to taking some in for my kindergartners to enjoy- they can get awfully creative with just about any item and medium, so I imagine we’re going to have some happy jack-o-lanterns looking over us while we learn and play. Have a wonderful autumn!
Hey girlie ..just wanted to say hello and see how you are doing ! Hope you are well .. HUGS JO <3 <3 <3
So happy for your article… congratulations!!
I always swoon over your Autumnal posts. They’re so enchanting! 🧡🖤🧡
Wishing you a spooktacular Halloween season!! 🎃🎃🎃
Warmly,
Michele
Glad you found time for this – know how busy you stay now! I think some of your desert heat came this way, combined with a lot of rain from somewhere else, and kept the temps above average. But we have begun to see color in the tree leaves! So things may yet become autumn-like!
I look forward to your Halloween posts every year. You never disappoint and inspire me to think outside the box. Happy Halloween!
Congratulations on your article! I’m really looking forward to seeing it.
I’m grateful today for an autumn that has seemed such a long time in coming this year.
It’s still hot here during the day, but the trees are just glowing with their fall colours, and the forecast is for sweater weather by the end of the week. 🙂
Welcome back, Vanessa. I was thinking about you this morning & wondering how you’ve been. So glad to read your post. <3

Hello hello! I actually started decorating right after the equinox – October is my birth month and I adore all things witchy and spooky so I love giving myself time to enjoy it – although honestly, some Halloween decor for me is just decor – I leave it up year round! Much love and happy autumn to you and yours 🧡 ðŸŽðŸŒ»ðŸŒ°ðŸ‘»ðŸŽƒðŸðŸ–¤
Yay! Congratulations on the article! I can’t wait to read it! Well, summer has been sticking around here in NC. The nights have been nice (lows in the mid to high 60’s) but the days have been in the upper 80s- mid 90s. But…saturday’s high is supposed to be 64 and the low tomorrow night is 57!!! I CAN’T WAIT! 🙂
I so love this time of year! (Although, I must confess I have only put out two Halloween decorations so far and only have 3 tiny mini pumpkins. Normally, my house would be decked out and I’d have been to the farmers market about 30 times for pumpkins… alas, I just can’t seem to find my Halloween mojo this year. 🙁
Maybe I should scroll back through some of your Halloweens from years past to get inspired! 😉
Anyhoo… Have a great day!
love & blessings
~*~
ps…hugs & kisses to Matty & Miley (and hello to the Hubster). 🙂
That’s so funny! You’re wearing a sweater & I’m here in Illinois wearing shorts & a tank top! It’s been almost record breaking hot here. It feels like the middle of the summer! I think it’s going to start cooling off soon. I sure hope it does! I have some Halloween decorations up in my house & outside so it looks like fall even if it doesn’t feel like it! :0)
Hi Vanessa! I’ve been ever so busy while working on my Masters Degree and I graduate in December! I’m finally making it back to reading blogs like I used to. I’ve enjoyed seeing your adventures on IG lately too! Thanks for having a giveaway!
Congratulations on the article, and welcome back! Were you tempted to stay in Ireland? I’ve never been, but it’s definitely a bucket list item. 😉
Autumn is finally arriving here in PA this week – time for clearing away all the leggy summer flowers, planting asters and mums, stacking pumpkins on the porch, and bringing the more delicate plants indoors for the colder months. Time for Halloween art shows too (at least it was, hehe) – just got back from Bewitching Peddlers up in Michigan, and it was *magical*!
Happy Fall, and Happy Halloween!
🖤 Carolee
Greetings! Thank you for sharing your festive photos! I love autumn and am in the process of decorating, AND I’m hoping we get some cooler weather so I can do some baking. Thank you for the giveaway!
Oh my godness! Now, you probably don’t remember me, but I used to follow your blog years ago (and we had the nicest conversations 🙂 ), but then I quit blogging (and sort of reading too). Anyway, just now I started thinking of you and here you are, full of creativity and… joy! Blooming (and clearly so does your beautiful garden). And your art is just as whimsical and colourful as I remember it. So happy for you!
Ooh, I can’t wait for your autumn posts! We are having an unusually hot October here in Wales, but this morning is a tiny bit cold so I have lit a small fire in the woodburner and plan to have a gloriously cosy 30 minutes of knitting before the kids get up!
This time of year is just brimming with magic, I find inspiration nearly everywhere I turn, especially from you. I’m looking forward to finally having the chance to decorate my house this weekend, it’s long overdue. 💕
Congratulations on the article!!! It’s still hot in Florida but we can feel a bit of turn in the weather. Loved following along on your journey! Thank you for your inspirational blog!!! I hope you use your circus figures this Halloween!!!
Hello Vanessa 🎃🎃🎃 Congratulations on the article! It looks beautiful. I loved traveling to Europe with your beautiful photosâ¤â¤â¤ thanks for bringing us along!!
Hello Miss Vanessa!
It’s lovely following you on Instagram these days, but I do love the occasional blog post — very old school 😉 And reminds me of just how long I’ve been sharing in on your fanciful world (9 years!? Time flies… )
Just moved back to Massachusetts after being in San Francisco for 2 years; CA is a treat, but New England is where my heart rests. We’re seeing blazing pops of scarlet and bumblebee yellow, the gourds and skeletons are starting to emerge on porches, and I just got done whipping up a giant cauldron for Halloween night. Cheers to your continued successes as you continue to follow your own intuitive path!
How exciting! I can’t wait to find this magazine and read your article. We are watching the weather here in Florida! Keep us in your prayers. Hugs!
Happy fall and Halloween Vanessa. I know this is “your time” of year. I love seeing all your halloween decorations going up in your house.
Congratulations on the article. It looks amazing.
I loved following your Instagram stories while you were in Ireland and Paris. A lifetime trip for sure.
Take care and keep creating.

Good Morning Vanessa,
Yes the weather is just so lovely in the desert at this time of year. We are blessed with one extra nice day after another. It gives me joy just to look at my garden and see it starting to slow down, preparing for the winter, with all the lovely shades of color and the falling leaves.
Here’s to creativity,
Linda
Happy October and welcome back from your travel adventures 🙂
Wishing you loads of creativity and pumpkins and extra Halloween magic.
xoxo B
Gorgeous autumn and Halloween magic – this is my favorite time of year, walking in the crunchy leaves, sitting on the brown grass watching the harvest moon, putting out my beloved Poe collection, black cats and spooky candles! I come most alive as the leaves fall and the cooling wind blows and whispers. I so enjoy your Halloween decor and lovely artwork, Vanessa! Congratulations on the article in Somerset, it looks really beautiful. Happy hauntings and sparkling spookiness!
Good morning Vanessa…..I, too, live in lovely Arizona. This time of year is so appreciated after the long hot summers we have. As always, your spot is a delight for the eyes. Every photo is so beautiful and well thought out. It is a pleasure coming here. BTW…..I turned 72 this month and always delight in fellow bloggers creativity.

Congratulations on the article! It looks so cute! Here in Colorado it was 84 degrees last Wednesday and today it snowed! I hope we still get some real autumn weather! Still, I prefer cold to hot so I don’t really mind hauling all my cold weather clothing out. ^_^
It is so hot today,Lady V. Like 75, while yesterday was 62. My son turned 7 on the 3rd. It was so much fun watching his face delight with his school party. Congratulations on the article in Somerset Life.
