Bits and Pieces of Youness…

Do you ever feel like, all the sparkly little bits and pieces that make up who you are…

Orbital 1

Want to explode into the sky?

Flying fast and free, arms outstretched , through the clouds.

Dancing on fluttering air waves?

Orbital 2

Free of soul, mind, body.

Perhaps to something like this, especially at the 2:30 minute mark.

(fave midnight painting song from college)

Whipping around until you turn into a swirl of youness.

Orbital 3

Going to that special place, where you meet up with the you that you hold dear.

The you only you know.

Orbital 4

Lifted out of yourself, in a flight of inner bliss, of magnitudes only you comprehend.

In that special moment of youness.

The ecstacy of living and feeling and breathing.

That place music can take you to.

If and when you venture to such places, pray tell…

What tune do you choose as your method of transport?

Maybe many, but one in particular perchance?

Orbital 5

 Love, V

Sparkly heart

    Vanessa:
I think it’s fascinating how we all have a sort of back music to our lives. When I’m in a floaty, dreamy, creative, ME mood, I pop in Imaginaerum by Nightwish. The whole CD flows like one big song for me. I float away to the whole CD. *sigh*…..
Right now, I am not floating. I am sweltering! Today, of all days (106 degrees), our a/c is dying. Gary is outside trying to figure out what’s going on. It’s a furnace out there.
Oh lovely, cool Autumn days…where are you?

Oh my gosh!!!! I won!?? I never win anything!!!! I’m so excited. What do I do now? Vanessa, you just made my day!

  3. Jessica says:

Such pretty pics, V! And congrats to the winners 🙂

  4. Remember when you used to listen to Deep Forest all the time? Or remember when we got into the soundtrack from Brokedown Palace for like a semester when we were in college?
I have quite a few songs that I listen to when I am writing, embroidering or sewing. I recently added a tv with a dvd player to my office/sewing room and Karate Kid has been my go to film lately. Why? I don’t know, but I just love the song at the end… “You’re the best, arroooouuuund, nothing in the world can break you down…” Then Daniel-son crane kicks Johnny in the face and the underdog wins. It’s my jam right now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1kS0A_E2Ag

    yehhhh!!!congratulations to the winners!!!

  6. Angela says:

What a wonderful post! I definitely use music to fly and it is a constant when I’m creating. Although I love almost all types of music, when I’m working in my studio I love Gary Stadler’s Deep Within A Fairy Forest, Ian Anderson’s Divinities, Marina Raye’s Woman Spirit…..oh there are too many to list, lol.

  7. Miss Linda says:

I love listening to music when I’m trying to create. Sometimes it’s good and then again sometimes…well we won’t talk about it. It is all fun.
Even today I still associate music on the radio and television with my lifes adventures. Like a song in the early 1970’s with the good times that, that summer gave me.
I’m so excited for the winners of the fun jewelery…Yea!

  8. Kim, its true!! Life back music… like our own soundtrack.
SometimesI overdo my fave songs, and I have to stop listening to them for
3 years 🙂 Because I play them over and over for like 436 days
    straight.
I do that with movies too. You?? xoxo

That was so beautiful, Miss V, thank you for sharing. Songs that always take me beyond: Afer Ventus and Memory of Trees by Enya, and Paul Oakenfolds El Niño and 1998. Goosebumps! Thanks again for this post!!!

  14. val says:

I don’t think much about what “my” music is…which is weird because I’m a musician. But maybe it is because I love most all music……something to ponder. I do love Deep Forest and Basia and I love Celtic music hmmmmm…but I also love so many more…..interesting

  15. Cori G. says:

Oh, I like the Faerie song from Peter Pan. You know the one with Timothy Dalton laying Hook? Magical delightment to me wee ears “-). But please, do not ask me to hum it to you for I hum quite off tune.
    xoxo

  16. I love so many more too. I think that was a hard question even for
me, hahhaaa 😉 Would love to hear your music!!

  21. Ah…music. Music has always taken me to other worlds where I loose myself. Even in a room full of classmates in sixth grade in our school auditorium the entire sixth grade class was allowed to do free form dancing with all kinds of music. I danced with reckless abandon. I should have been a choreographer as my spirit soars when I dance. My mother used to play ‘Ravel’s Bolero’ on the long play records you could check out at the library. I loved that piece of music and still do. She would also check out ‘The Carnival of the Animals’ and to this day ‘Aquarium’ is still one of my favorite classical pieces. It still gives me chills to listen to it. My twenty-two year old son, Todd, can play it by ear on the piano. Crazy huh!
I love music just about as much as I love magical whimsy and soap bubbles! Ha!
    Miss Teresa
