It seems that Winter has packed his bags and left Arizona, without even saying good-bye…
There was no gradual changing of the season, which is okay, but odd as well. Last week there was new snow on the mountains surrounding me, and then yesterday it was 74' F, and that was that…
Yesterday you could see the snow disappearing off the mountain, bit by bit. The air tastes like spring. There is a green freshness floating about. The sun is warm and cozy, and lovely.
Very springy tulips from my Mom and Dad delivered early morning Valentine's Day, greet me every morning, and create a lump in my throat because I am so touched.
I am avidly encouraging my balloons, trying to get them to stay alive. But, they can't help it, poor little guys 😉 droop, plop, pop….
My behind the scenes has been a bit nutty, with mind blowing technology and customer support stuff. So, I have decided that we should all put our problem computers, televisions, printers and so on, in my yard, fill them with fireworks, and have a light show. What do you think? Wishful thinking.
I was at the post office bright and early this morning, so that the rest of this sunny beautiful day can be filled with me being in my studio, painting, listening to music ~ perfection…
One of my sweet friends is on her way over this afternoon for some much needed play time. And, I have some gifts of crocheted scarves I made for some friends, that I have yet to gift.
Alas, perhaps it is too late for scarf love with the change of weather? Oops! Although, we might have one more cold snap. I best gift these treats to their rightful owners asap, don't you think?
By the way, I am really pleased with some metallic eyelash yarn I purchased from here. They are generous with the amount of yarn they send, and the quality is superb and soft too.
Well, I best be off because my coffee and toast are waiting for me, and I am super close to being done with some creatures and treats for my shop…
While I work, I am listening to and loving the song Daniel by Bat for Lashes integrated with La Valse D'Amelie composed by Yann Tiersen, from the movie Amelie. It actually is fun…
So, off I go to lose myself in paint and then tea and fun with Miss D, the actress and all around lovely friend.
See you sooner than soon.
🖤 , V
ps: I received an e-mail last night, telling me that I had been nominated, totally unbeknownst to me, for a best blog award. WHO me?? Eeeeks!
Part of me wants to ask you to vote for me, and part of me wants to just be delighted I was nominated and leave it at that. But, if you do feel like voting, that would be lovely too ;) I am number 4. Ooooo, the preshah 😉 ;) Here is the link…

Oh wow I wish we were having 74 degree weather here! Now that it’s super cold or anything but I’m so ready for Spring!
Oh and I’ve determined that it’s always the right season to wear a fun scarf! 😀
Enjoy your studio time, I voted for you! 🙂
I am sure all the others are lovely but I voted for you!
It has rained here all day so it is good to see that there is some sun somewhere!
I am also off to have lunch today with 2 lovely friends…we are still enjoying summer here in Melbourne, but I can’t wait for my favourite season, Autumn – I love the crisp mornings, and the colours of the leaves…perfect forest walking weather! Of course I popped over and voted for your blog – it is my very favourite xxx
OF COURSE there will be another cold snap. We are in AZ and Mother Nature just loves to play around here…I am giggling to myself because I too did a post about the changing weather today…great minds we are.
Also? I think the technology fireworks idea is way past due…
Oh! you lucky miss! I am so ready for winter to pack up and move on. I cant wait for colors and flowers and 74*….I could cry! I would settle for 60 🙂
And oh! I have a scanner we can definitely use in the light show! I have to start praying each time I try to use it…sweet talk it and plead and pray. Which is ridiculous, a scanner only done ONE thing! scan! Ah, it has emotional issues…
I would love to have 74 degrees right now!!! I’m totally jealous. Have fun with Miss D and tea. What are you painting?
I’ll vote for you chicky.
Right now as I look out my window all I see is white! And there is more white falling and even more white coming! I am so not a winter person. I think that from now on I shall spend February with my brother in Southern California. I will be sure to head right over to vote for you. As always California dreaming~ Joyce
I am definitely jealous that it is already turning to spring there. It is sunny here today, but I know we have many more cold and rainy days ahead before spring comes. Also, your last couple yummy posts inspired me to do some nice, pretty things for myself for Valentine’s and take pictures (not a lovely as yours, but still fun to do)! I will definitely be voting for your blog!
Perhaps we all should give our computers, TV’s, DVR’s, scanners, you name it a firm warning…let them know that it is possible that they could end up in the fireworks show! Don’t you think that’s only fair to give a warning? 🙂 Now, some days I would just be willing to dump them, that’s for sure.
The tulips are gorgeous! One of my very favorite flowers. It was 26F here this morning and the wind is horrible. We do have sunshine and that’s a good thing! I cannot wait for temps in the 60’s * 70’s.
Enjoy your afternoon and yes, gift the scarves to your friends ~ they are beautiful. Oh, and I voted for you! 🙂
xoxo
Winter abandoned us here in Utah too! What the heck?
There might indeed me another cold snap. Or at least a chilly snap. And if not, then you gift the scarves now and since they won’t use them for months and months, it will be almost like getting a gift again the first time they get to use it in the autumn. I’m always excited to see wardrobe that is sleeping away during the off season.
What is in the air, more than spring it seems (we’re having a bit of spring warmth here too, but I know it can’t last) but also the nasty computer screwiness. Yay for the spring stuff, boooooo for the technology bothers.
It’s that grey time of year here in NW Washington. Every year around this time I long to live somewhere warm, then spring arrives and reminds me why I love where I live…maybe we should just winter in the south somewhere…hmmmm. I am truly jealous of your weather.
Love the scarfs, they are so cheery! Lucky friend.
Of course I just placed my vote for you, after all of the hard work you do on this charming place to visit! Please send some sunshine a little bit east … we are snowed in LOL.
~Shari
Your scarves are scrumptious!
I went to the link for the best blog vote and voted for you! Yay! Hope you are the winner!
It was 73 here in Central California yesterday and gosh! I just looked at the outside thermometer and it says 78 degrees! Last week it was 45. Crazy weather…well, it may get colder again.
Hugs to you,
P.S.
I will vote for you AGAIN Tomorrow!
It said you can vote EVERYDAY until it ends.
Hee,hee…
=^..^=
I adore the idea of technology fireworks (she says while tapping a letter at a time on an onscreen keyboard)! Don’t ask….
Oh, and I just voted for you, and will go back daily. Your blog is the best ever! 🙂
🖤 Carolee
You think we wouldn’t want to vote for you???!!! â¤
You DO have the BEST blog! I can always count of lots of color, great photos and happy feelings when I spend time here! Happy Blogging, sweet friend! I would vote for YOU! 🖤
Just voted for you! You have an amazing blog! I will vote again! You are so inspiring to me!
Well of COURSE we will vote for you, adorable Vanessa! You make our day happy whenever we visit 🙂 And if you’re missing winter, look at the crazy photos from our snowstorm here in Dallas last weekend, it was just magical…
xo, Andrea
oh i wish it was 74 degrees here! today was mardi gras and almost too cold to go out! that hardly ever happens…in fact, i was sick and couldn’t costume, so my mr. and i decided we are going to dress up one sunday and just go out in our would’ve been mardi gras costumes. he was sooooo sweet to stay with me.
of course, you know i am going over to vote for you right now! how many times can we vote? 🙂
OH all the spring talk is just lovely V! We still have our 3 feet of snow and 10 foot piles on the side of the road, tee hee. Those tulips from the mom and pops are beautiful and so sweet of them to send 😉 And hey, congrats on the blog nomination…you totally deserve to win (and btw, you are in 1st with 36% right now…woooooo)
Jamie 🙂
Hi Vanessa,
Just stopping by to catch up on your posts and see how you are. Looks like you had a lovely Valentine’s Day. When I voted, I noticed that you were winning. Well, I am not surprised. It has been snowing here all day, the pretty not so dangerous kind of snow though. Everything looks like a winter wonderland. The best part about the cold weather is getting to have fires in the fireplace and wearing my favorite coat. Otherwise, I would rather be in Arizona. Hope you have a lovely day, and I hope you win.
Karen
Oh, YAY! I’m more than happy to vote for you.
Your blog always adds a lift to my day.
We’ve had warm weather, here in the CA high desert, but it could just as easily be freezing next week. This is pretty typical for Palmdale.
~elaine~
Well, I’m happy to vote for you, Vanessa!
Here the snow is disappearing off the garden, but yesterday’s beautifyl blue sky is “bleading” in light grey tears today.
Have a nice day!
I just popped over and voted for you, I had been looking at blogs for so long and after following you for 6 months I was inspired to dive in, so you will always get my vote x
I feel happy for you to be able to say so long to winter but that must mean that I have to say goodbye to my summer!!! Noooooo!
Well have a fun lunch and play.
i received one of your pictures back from the framers today, I will send a link tomorrow so you can see.
sheree xxx
First of all I see now that it was L’hiver and not liver. Au Revoir Liver was not making a lot of sense to me. And, I’m right there with you turning techno-garbage into a spectacular fireworks display. Let’s blow those babies up!!! – Happy end of liver! – Kathy
Congrats on your loverrrrly nomination, Miss! I voted for your beautiful blogling!! 🖤
Your blog isnt even a blog-its a fairytale unwinding itself on a daily basis, giving us a chacne to play and wish and dream-and grow-right along with you.
Its over the moon special!
i oughtta know-i am sitting in a hotel room, where my 2 choices for heating and air was antartcia or sonora, and i think its circus people on the floor above me, practicing for some crazy new act they are trying out, and i am wishing there wasnt ice on my rental car, and yet, somehow, i am thinking happy thoughts and wanting to go buy tulips!
you are magic and I heart you like crazy!!
xoxoxviiilllxxxooo
Congratulations on the nom !!! Keeping my fingers… toes… and nose crossed that you WIN!!!
And I second ROO… I HEART YOU LIKE CRAZY TOO!!!
LOTS OF HUGS
JO
Hello Vanessa, congratulations on your blog nomination! I did indeed go and vote for you. I certainly wish signs of spring were here, but alas they are not. We actually got the most snow we’ve had all season yesterday (nearly a foot!). It was so lovely to see those gorgeous tulips. They are one of my favorite spring flowers. We grow them along our front wall…and I get excited to see them start popping up out of the ground. I keep wanting to plant more, but my husband tells me there is no more room!
It’s never too late to enjoy a pretty scarf! And yours are so “fanciful” and colorful, who wouldn’t want to wear them any time of year!
Have a lovely and creative fun day with your friend!
Sincerely, Theresa
Spring already? How lucky! Do you think you could send a little up to the northeast? I’m tired of winter.
I can’t wait to see the snowdrops peeking up their heads from the ground.
I am totally voting for you! You REALLY deserve it! 😉
Oh and by the way… those flowers are really pretty !
V~
I wish I had some spring around here!! Too cold still. And those scarves are AMAZING!!
Your blog is lovely and your nomination is well deserved. It is difficult to come up with so much content. Yes, it is already too hot for me in Mesa. I was in Tucson last week for the bead show and was entranced by the snow on the mountains. I want to live where I can see snow on the mountains!!! You are so lucky.
Spring? Summer?
I am jealous 🙂
well of course I will run off right now and vote 4 U!!
x..x
La la la la la la lavely Misses V. my ever Fanciful friendling…I missed you on Valentine’s Day. Me oh my where has my head been lately? Wandering through the clouds to be sure.
I think Mr. Spring spring-a-linged right out of S.Cal too. We had 82 degrees yesterday, but our mountains are still covered in beautiful white snow. Oh Gotta Go!!! My work day is over and I’m headed home ;-). I hope your day with the actress friend was most lovely.
bye now…love cori
oh my, just a taste of what’s to come….I believe mr.brooks called it a “false spring” but it sure feels absolutely lovely, doesn’t it?! still more time for scarves…always time for scarves in my world!
ah, your sweet studio inspires me to get into mine a “do it up” in all sorts of sparkles….simply enchanting, thank you for the boost!
i will pop on over and see about this award business! Of course they picked you, you’re the cat’s meow!
I voted for you, of course. You deserve that award and more for all the delicious beauty and heart you bring to your blog for all of us!
I wish it was 75 degrees..ah, spring will come soon for us in nyc. Hopefully.
i have a feeling that a cold snap is on its way..dont be fooled my little sweet pea 🙂
just voted for you and you are in front by a mile (not that we’re counting, right?)
good luck
🖤 rosey
Oh I’m a bit jealous on your weather. Still winter here. And the news are promising more snow. Cant stand to look at the shovel right now. Until we recieve spring. I keep looking at your beautiful pictures. /linnea-maria
Awe, congratulations!!! I only wish it had been me who nominated you! I love all of these photos, but that first one,I could just crawl in there and stay for, oh, about a hundred years. Yummy. Off to vote for The Fanciful One! **blows kisses** Deb
Unbelievable, my name in French, Amelie, and my love for bat for lashes (especially perfect as cats and fur and gold) balloons, tulips and small glass houses for growing little green things! What a post just when the snow is deep! Thanks for the fun!!!
Just voted! Good luck! Blessings
Oh my…Tulips?…already!?! If you find yourself yearning for winter trek out to the mid-west and visit with me for a while. It seems it may never end here. I don’t really mind. I’ve been enjoying every second (though I sure do like flowers and sunshine too).
I voted for you.
xoxo
I just love your blog! It’s so creative and highly inspirational to me 🙂 I added a little link on my blog, for people to stop by and check you out.
Much Peace,
Erin
I wish I could be one of those lucky people who are on the receiving end of your gifting of the beautiful scarves…I’m sure they are sprinkled with all sorts of magic and dreamy wishes!!!
And I vote, because my dearie you DESERVE it!!
XoXo,
Kristal
