All the pretty petals…

The most incredible days are upon us.

Sun and breeze and green under our feet.

Beautiful day 2

Chamomile sprouting up through the dirt, tickling feet as we hang laundry.

Golden hour illuminating Miley like an angel.

Beautiful day 1

Wonderful days, these early spring days.

I was gifted gobs of beautiful flowers in such wonderful shades.

Beautiful day 10

And we've had overflowing glasses of the most sweet fresh homegrown orange juice ever.

Beautiful day 9

My sidekick was so adorable I had to grab my camera and take some snaps.

Beautiful day 5

Peeking through fresh sheets.

Hanging out in that gorgeous light with me.

Matty behind us watching, monitoring his land.

Miles my big baby, playing games as usual.

Beautiful day 4

He steals anything cardboard.

Paper towel rolls and toilet paper rolls are his fave.

He sniffs them out and runs away with them, amusing me so.

Love this boy.

Beautiful day 3

I wish I could bottle the air and sun swirl.

Cool air, warm light.

Perfect.

So perfect.

Beautiful day 6

And now I'm back to dreaming of swirling paint too.

All shades of pink.

Beautiful day 12

Fuchsia, magenta, candy pink, baby pink, hot pink.

Beautiful day 13

Taking too many pics of the same flowers.

Big fat roses bobbing around.

Pink pink pink.

And baby's breath for that perfect vintage measure.

Beautiful day 15

Flowers and pinks and roses and carnations and gerber daisies.

Oh my!

Beautiful day 14

Making me ever so happy.

Then we go back to our wash line.

Beautiful day 7

Country garden, vegetable garden.

Golden light.

Earth angel, earth angel…

Beautiful day 8

Almost time to start working in the veggie garden.

It will be all above ground this year.

There's a peach tree tucked in there, that grew himself there.

Big and tall.

Garden magic I say.

Beautiful day 17

But for now I madly enjoy these days.

When you live in the land of sun, where it gets so hot in summer, the days like this week has gifted are like gold.

Cool and fresh and beautiful.

Before you have to water and toil in the heat.

Before you beg for rain.

There are these glorious incredible days.

To be savored to the last drop.

Beautiful day 11

I may sound melodramatic, but if you live in a very very hot place you understand.

And so, you truly appreciate the days of open windows.

Cardigans.

Cold toes and down comforters.

Late days of February, when bulbs are flowering and sprouts are sprouting.

And all the living things start to think about bursting forth.

My roses have so many beautiful silky fresh leaves.

And buds forming too.

I can't believe it.

It seems like just yesterday it was summer.

I think the universe right now wants me to paint in pinks.

And keep cuddling in the chaise with the pups, as the faint string tunes of the mad hatter waft through the garden.

The skies are clear these nights.

Bursting with stars.

There's curious tales of love and life adventures happening.

And did you hear about the 7 new planets found?

Perhaps warm, perhaps with water?

Endless unknowns out there in the great big universe.

But aren't we lucky to get to be here?

Doing all the wonderful things.

Bubble baths in winter, yes, that's one of my faves, I just remembered.

What's one or three of your favorite life things?

Mine are dogs, bubble baths and flowers.

Things that make me happy day to day.

Dogs & flowers I need.

Well, off I go.

Silly silly sillying along.

And day dreaming too…

Beautiful day 16

Love, Vanessa

See you soon a fanciful twist 300px

 Dedicated to my blonde.

Yes I dedicate songs to dogs, don't you?

    Another fabulous blog post*
3 of my favorite things would be My garden, the beach(the shells, seaglass) and a cup of tea. I have so many more but those are favorites
    Those pink flowers were beautiful

  5. I love all of the shades of pink of your glorious flowers!
I know one of my favorite things when I am on the internet is to come to your wondrous blog, and sigh, and dream, and ohhh! and ahhh!
I was able to do some star gazing two nights ago when the air was fresh and clear. Thousands upon thousands of stars up there! And the constellations were so close I felt I could almost touch them. So, that is another one of my favorite things to do. Star Gazing. Being able to create art, is probably my third choice, or a close third choice is writing.
Wow…and I love everybody else’s choices too! Too many favorite things, just like in the Sound of Music…’these are a few of my favorite things!’
I do relish this time of year because of the cooler days, and the crispness in the air. Summer will be here soon enough…
    Muuwah! <3 <3 <3
    fairy kisses to you dearest!

  6. Nothing beats fresh laundered sheets air dried in the sunshine! LOVE this post!

Just chiming in because — hey, why not? I read your blog regularly, so might as well come out from behind the clothes line every once in a while and not be a complete stalker 😉
My 3 regular life loves, hmmmm. If I ever stop moving round (it’s dizzying how often I’ve had to move), I’d probably name a garden as one of them 🙂 But, in the meantime:
Kitty snuggles; I’m an official hot chocoholic; and quiet early mornings with pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard).
Thank you as always for giving a lovely but authentic glimpse into your corner of the world, Vanessa!

  8. My recent fave thing is to make overnight oatmeal with chia, flax seeds, Agave syrup (or maple,) diced apples, tons of cinnamon, chopped almonds & coconut shreds. Assemble it all in a mason jar and add water or milk to it until it’s just-barely covering the oat mixture, stir and shake it all up, and in the morning you have a delicious treat – no cooking involved. I’ve even made them with diced butternut squash or sweet potatoes and they were like pumpkin pie.

  9. Lynne says:

I can’t help my envy, seeing your sheets blowing softly in a warm breeze. Does anything else smell quite that line-dried wonderful? Iowa is back to 30 degrees all next week. I do have hope, seeing buds on this or that branch, and yarrow and iris breaking through. Your dog is a beauty and what a soulful face! After losing our dear old dog, Princess Leia (geek family!)several years ago, I thought we’d just stick to our beloved kitties. But then an email came from our daughter who teaches in Shanghai. A friend had fostered a dog rescued from the streets there, wonderful personality, had arrangements for her adoption in the US, everything was set; but the adoptive family backed out at the last minute! So again I’m a dog mommy and realized how much I’ve missed it.

  10. Renee says:

I love the pictures. Especially Miles and the sheets, so sweet. The flowers are beautiful.
We have all kinds of things blooming. The other day it was in the 70s and now they are saying snow on Sunday. Please no snow 🙂

  11. Rhondaroo says:

Animals. Music. Outside. I know i know i cheated, but clouds shaped like bunnies and trees to hug and wisteria to swoon over and rainstorms and warm sun on cool skin and stars and the moon when it looks like its going to swallow us up! So yeah outside. 😉
And coffee. Ok that’s four. I’m greedy. 🙂
Happy St Patty’s day! I’m guessing you’re celebrating 😉 and I’m glad you are! There are so many greens of spring popping in Florida..its wondermous. We are coming out of a lovely little cold snap – by that i mean for almost a week the nights were below freezing, and days warmed up to 70s. Ish.
Definitely today it is warmer. And this weekend is supposed to be perfect. So I am glad to be on this planet, for sure. Though it’s always good to have back up planets. But they will need trees to be sure.
We have Miles and Matty type personalities, too – Dharma and Sarj are Mattys — Sarj guards the perimeter, Dharma prefers the porch or courtyard. Loki and Kali frolic with their humans and each other. 🙂 Kali will play with well, anything really -but cardboard tubes make her happy. She flings them up in the air and then runs around with them. OH and she has this weird little purple and green stuffed animal, a round monster-looking creature that Craig actually bought for me, but she decided that it was her baby and she takes care of it – the other night she fell asleep with it cradled in her front paws, nestled cheek to cheek and i was just beside myself, swooning. Oh the love!!! xoxoxroostah

  12. Jen says:

Those rich vibrant pinks are incredibly gorgeous! My orange tree didn’t produce as many oranges this past winter. Not sure what happened accept, it’s most likely me not knowing what to do. Kind of weird though because the people who lived at our house before didn’t take care of anything in the garden and the first year we lived here, we had baskets upon baskets full of the most delicious oranges I have EVER eaten! Maybe this year will be better. – I know, the planets! Incredible and awesome and out of this world, literally and figuratively! 😉 xoxoxo Jen

  13. Jen says:

I don’t want to bombard you with comments on every post I’ve missed, but, yep, you’re adorable! Dedicating songs to your doggies. I serenade my cat with one of the songs from High School Musical! Haha xo Jen
