A Very Fanciful Merry Christmas to You

Hello lovely friends!

I wanted to stop in and wish you and yours the loveliest Christmas.

I know I promised I would return and share the giant Blythe dollhouse with you.

I have some lovely little peeks here for you.

This is a 1/6th scale very large dollhouse that my parents renovated for me about 10 years ago.

My mom did all the interiors with incredible detail.

It was originally blue and needed lots of woodwork and window work.

All new windows, doors, pretty much every single thing needed to be redone.

I ran out of daylight today to take all the interior photos.

So, I am leaving you with some fun little snippets and after Christmas I will take a whole bunch of interior photos to share.

This little gazebo is soooooo dear to me.

Mister Lovee and I found it at an estate sale somewhere in Northern Arizona about 25 years ago.

It was on a tall post in my vegetable garden for a few years and then completely fell apart.

It had been sitting in a basket in a million pieces since about 2013.

A couple weeks ago I sat quietly and pieced most of it back together, or rather, as best as I could with the pieces I had.

Swan was a gift from Irishman many years ago.

He is huuuge and was named Stanley Tucci the minute I saw his face in the giant box in the driveway.

I wish the lighting had been better today, it got so cloudy and dark by the time I got to the interior shots.

But that only means that we will have something to look forward to in the next week or so.

It’s been a wonderfully whimsical Christmas season.

Although I suppose I could also say, I have lived in a whimsical bubble for the majority of my life, haha.

So, it’s been a wonderfully whimsical life to date.

It’s like a fairy tale, trials and tribulations, witches, fairies, trolls and all matter of nonsense, but good for the most part, lol.

Of course the Blythe dolls had to park their Vespa in the gazebo as soon as I put it back together.

We have a pink tree inside…

But the most special part to me is the mural of my artwork that my mom installed in the upper floor.

I cannot wait to take proper photos for you on a sunny day.

I hope the little snippets were fun though.

I am running all around as it is time for me to venture out of my neck of the woods and deliver gifts and fun things I have made (will share after I gift them) to my girls (mom and sis). Plus, I have a little niece too. Actually, I have acquired a few in the last handful of years. Can you believe it, babies in the family.

Poppy is on bed rest for 4 weeks which is likely not going to work very well.

She is a rascal that can’t be held down.

However, I am limping around too with a knee brace because I somehow injured my knee as well.

How funny and weird is that, both Poppy and I have injured knees and both of us cannot sit still.

Who knew I’d have a wild little fur daughter just like me one day?

Goodness, I love my Teddy and Poppy so madly it’s not even funny.

I have made more pies and wrapped soooooo many gifts into the wee hours of the night the last few days.

After gifts are opened on the 25th I will literally collapse into my bed with a book for a couple of days.

Probably do a bunch of crafts with the girls and sample way too many treats that my mom has made.

Oh boy!

I’m simply chomping at the bit to show you what I made for everyone.

I can’t wait, I can’t wait!

So excited to gift my crafty beautiful mess to everyone, tee hee!

Well, I think they are beautiful, but Mister Lovee said they were dumb!!!

(He actually said they were stupid, if I’m being honest, hahahaha!)

Can you imagine?

I said, what the heck is wrong with you, you’re the Mad Hatter! For goodness sake man, get it together, haha!

Mad Hatter, if you are here reading this, I hope you have changed your mind at my efforts in creating fun things for everyone, you rotten rascal. Love you though.

I am sure he is here with us right now, so feel free to say hello to him.

In fairness, he is the most whimsical Mad Hatter I’ve ever known, and he did model one of my secret wacky gifts.

I promise to show you what these things I made are as soon as I return.

Well, I best be off to help Ole Saint Nick get this show on the road.

After all, aren’t we all just his elves doing the good work of spreading whimsy and joy to our loved ones?

On his behalf?

I remember when I was 13 years old I was out on a walk with a best friend, we were going up a hill and I said to her whilst panting, listen Santa Claus is super busy, so I am sure that we are all his elves that have to pitch in for Christmas and help him out.

I remeber that day like it was yesterday.

She just nodded and said, yeah, maybe, okay, it could be…

I mean, c’mon, that has to be true.

I don’t see any other answer.

We all morph into elves who crazily go around shopping and baking and packaging bits and bobs, filling stockings and writing nice notes to people we don’t see that often.

If you do any of that, then you are an elf.

I’m an elf, your an elf, we’re all elves!

I honestly don’t think you would be here if you didn’t love whimsy, so that’s just more proof.

So, happy happy happy Chistmas to all my fellow elves out there.

Doing all the good work of spreading joy and cheer.

Make sure you have some extra shroomnog this holiday and do a little something extra nice for yourself after all the madness subsides.

Big hugs from me to yoU!

Stay safe, have fun and don’t forget to wish upon a star!

Merry Christmas!!!!

All my best to your and yours.

Lots of love from,

Vanessa

PS: In the words of Casey Kasem, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.
