I am dreaming of what I like to call, the Pumpkin Holiday (aka Halloween). The inspiration is pulling on my toes, butterflies fluttering in my belly. The season is slowly shifting. The magic is beckoning…
Spells & Incantations…
I have new shop treats (Halloween cards) to share, which has been so hard to keep quiet until now. I want to share these with enough time between now and Halloween, so here we go…
I wish I could just hand these to you through the screen so you could see how fun they are.
Fortunes anyone???
Why yes, you?
These cards are so so much fun, and have endless uses besides greeting cards. Here is the front and the back… (the "A Fanciful Twist" watermark does not appear on any of the actual cards)
They make great little signs, tacked up for Halloween parties, decor, etc.
Let's see, what else do we have up our sleeve?
Oh yes!
Edible treats…
What is the season without candy corn and masks, I ask?
Happy Halloween Masquerade & Treats card (below)…
(all of the details about the cards, and all of the back sides can be seen in my shop)
But wait, we mustn't forget the scarecrows!
The Pumpkin Head card below captures my most favorite autumn light. Crisp apples, camp fires, oh yumm!
Which leads me to a card I created to be used any time during fall.
Autumn Harvest…
That card above really makes me want to bake pumpkin pie. I can almost smell and feel the oven warmth, with a hot baking pie scent wafting about the house. Bliss!
Oh, witchie is trying to keep me on track, let's see here…
You know what I love? Which I bet you do too?
I love traditional Halloween. I love the idea of being on a hay ride at an autumn festival. I love the idea of old witches cottages. Children dressed as goblins. Pumpkins lining a street of beautiful old homes, caramel apples being sold on the corner, laughter. A party with apple cider, kettle corn. Costumes, burlap candy sacks…
A traditional reminder…
Happy Halloween card –
This card above has antique writing imprinted faintly in the background. It also has this delicious glossy finish. I had not tried that before, but it turned out rich and lovely.
Oh and….
The epitome of spooky time would be, haunted houses, sparkle, ghosts, mayhem…
Haunted Halloween Festivities, I want to jump in!
This card is glossy as well. All of my cards are satin, which is my favorite finish, but like I said, I tried out the glossy here, and I love it too. These are delightful in person.
Bwahahaaa!
Oh, must not forget to share…
Keeping a bit of enchantment going, but not really Halloween…
We had to have some
Gypsy Magic….
For all the time.
I hope you like these. I had so much fun designing them. The process from creating the image, to designing the card, to ordering, to shipping, to receiving, to getting them to a place where I get to share them, is always exciting for me. A little card journey, of sorts.
So, there we are, new cards for the shop. You can see my entire Halloween card line in the left hand sidebar of my shop. I have separated the holidays into categories, for ease of searching.
Autumn, here we come…
It will be hot here until, literally, Halloween.
It seems like we wait forever for this season of holidays to arrive. And, when it does get here, it zips by so fast. That is why I allow myself to start celebrating Halloween early. Because, time is so fleeting, and I want to get to savor the feeling.
But for now, we have zinnias mixed with pumpkins. (oh, and giant dahlias too)
The melding of the end of summer, and the beginning autumn, somewhere on the horizon.
I can't wait!
All the cards are now in my shop. You can see many more detailed photos there.
And hey, have I ever said thank you? Thank you for being so great. Even if you don't say hi. Even if you have never said hello. I sorta kinda know you are there, and I am thankful. And, if you do say hi from time to time, then I know who you are ;) And I think you are real snazzy – and thank you thank you, for being such a pleasure to chat with!!
Love, V
See you soon! (Party planning coming to fruition, date super soon)
ps: My shop is full of Halloween treats (plus all occassion cards, prints, and more), you can see the extended Halloween card line here…

Vanessa,
Oh my goodness! I can’t wait for Halloween, and after seeing your new cards, my anticipation has increased ten-fold! My stomach is literally in knots and filled with butterflies! I simply cannot wait, and this year, I am definately going to participate in your virtual Halloween party! Witches and gypsies and candy corn, here I come!
I love your pictures and I love your cards! And honestly, I think that us viewers should be the ones thanking YOU. Checking your blog anxiously for updates and new posts is the hightlight of my day, as I know that you will have a picture posted that will make me smile, or your words of wisdom and inspiration will bring out my Cheshire Cat grin. Wow! Jessica said so many of the things I was already thinking I would write!! I love the cards and halloween as well! I have many great memories as a child going out trick or treating, we lived in a small town and knew almost everyone, so our bags were bursting with goodies! I love all the inpiration you give, its always such a treat to take a peek and see what you have waiting for us :} Thank you for all the fun!Amy
I can not wait for fall (over here in Louisiana) haha…we have a cold front that is sitting on top of us (woke up to 59* degree temp.) it is blissful!!!! last night my family and I had a hot dog roast outside, under the stars..it was weather was AWESOME!!!! Im so in love with fall, and everything to do with it…:)
I think I’m more excited for Halloween this year than ever before because of our little one….who is too young to have tricks or treats….but who I plan on dressing up into some form of hobgoblin or other! tee hee….And then she shall see her first jack-o-lantern, too! I can’t believe it’s already September, and nearing Autumn leaves and punkins!! meeep! Thanks for always sharing your delightful world, Miss Fancifulest of Sweetlings!! 🙂
I am so excited for the halloween party I thought you already set the date as October 17. I must have been dreaming about it and thought it was real…that happens to me alot! I LOVE that haunted house card!
I so enjoy the little (and sometimes not so little) trick or treaters, especially the ones who make thier own costumes. Budding little creative ones exercising their expression… Funness!!
Yes, I’m here… Like a Halloween critter, I’m lurking. I do read your blog daily. I check often for any updates on the magical time of year. I love Halloween too! For so many reasons: cool air (actually snowed here in Arkansas one year!) colors that Mother Nature gives us, the deco in the stores and on porches of most everyone.
When I was younger I’d go to my cousins house to see the trick ‘er treators (we lived out in the country so we didn’t get any at our house) Eddie and I would hide in the back of his dad’s truck and scare those unsuspecting kids! We weren’t being mean, just havin fun! I’m a Christian so I know I must get some “judgement” from my friends and passers by here at home! I do decorate and this year I plan to do more!! I can’t help myself. I don’t love it for evil but just for the feelings it brings back to me that I had as a child.
I enjoy your magical, mystical pictures… Especially ones you’ve had of the night time or sunset. I can just see the good witch flying passed the moon! Can’t wait to see all you have coming this year! Off to see your new stub in the Etsy shop. Have a great day…. AND THANK YOU for SHARING your life with ALL OF US!! You’re special!!!!
Oops!!! Gonna look at new stuff in your shop – not STUBS!!!! Bwahahaha
Missy V, I can’t wait for your partay. Two highlights of my year are the Tea Party and Halloween (I know, it’s sad!) Where do you get those marvelous fonts for your potion jars? Too expensive to order from online. Do you you have a secret source you’d share? TPL 😉
Well this will be my first halloween with you and I am very excited. My enchanted oven will be in overdrive! I have so many ideas that I don’t even know where to begin. Love all your cards but I think the traditional one is my fave. Let the fun begin!
Hugs,
Lisa

Truly love the scarecrow image. It captures the beauty of fall and the promise of Halloween so wonderfully. We’ve had gorgeous fall weather, but it is warming up again. Your post has put me in the fall mood despite the temps.
I’m so excited for the Pumpkin Holiday this year and hope the build up goes slowly so that I can savor each moment.
Such inspiring Halloween goodies!!!! I get giddy with excitement at all the decor I’ve been seeing on my excursions out. Your cards are delightful, as always. And I think a gypsy vibe is right for Halloween, too. There is something mystical and magical and just right for fall!!! 🙂 Guess what? I have two gourds growing – along with a stray cantaloupe!!!! 🙂 xoxo
