I realize that after this blog post, many of you might be so apalled, that you may consider never speaking to me again. Turning your face, at the mere thought of Vanessa and her wicked ways…
But I beg of you, please trust me.
I mean no harm.
Really really, it's all in good fun.
It's just that, I've been charmed.
Charmed by sweetness.
Cuteness too.
Charmed by a cream puff.
Oh yes, it's true.
And who of you, can sit and point, and laugh at my plunging into such fluffy delight?
When I know that, on some level, in some place in time, at some point in your life…
You have loved a cream puff too.
Perhaps the cream puff you once loved, wasn't in the form of a confection…
But perhaps it was an actual lad or lass?
You know, the one with the smile, and the twinkly eyes.
The one that made your heart go flippity-flooop with madness soup.
The one you should have never allowed yourself to be charmed by…
But, how could you resist?
Then again, maybe your cream puff experience was good?
I actually have had good and bad ones, myself.
Who knows, maybe you live with a delectable cream puff now? (I live with 2)
🙂
All I am saying is this.
Plunge.
Once or twice in life.
Just plunge.
But this time, make it an easy, sure to be happy choice.
Simply jump into your car, and drive to your local bakery.
Or walk, or pedal, or skate there!
But go.
🙂
(Can you tell I don't want to be in this all alone?)
Skoot, c'mon.
Thanks to Mister Lovee, and his gift of two of these, for a lovely tea party guest and me…
Her and I both plunged.
(She had hers for dinner, I had mine the next morning)
Will you?
You should know that, I saved half of my cream puff for Mister Lovee. (that's love)
It was light and custard filled, and crisp, and yumms.
Not too sweet either, just like I like.
But now, I have to go run around my yard. (maybe not)
Oddly, I feel less guilty than I should.
That must be my rottenness shining through.
But I do, have to get back to work…
It's funny how the painting door holds a memory of the piece I just worked on. That is, until I start a new one…
🖤

ps: Do you have a cream puff tale, you are bursting to share? Oh, DO tell ;)
pss: Isn't it funny, when you decide not to eat something yummy, but instead just take one bite. And then, you go back for another bite, and then another, in a short time frame… Until the whole thing is gone?
psss: That was my first real cream puff 😉

I can’t say that I feel that way about food… BUT I do feel that way about cocktails and libations. My friend, Nick, and I just went to the liquor store and stocked up on some necessities for a get together tonight, BUT I shrieked in the store when I found an insanely large bottle of St. Germain Liquor that came with a pitcher as a holiday gift set…. I know I am supposed to wait for the get together tonight, but I couldn’t resist… I am having a French Gimlet right now!
P.S. I did once feel that I loved a cream puff… he was 6 feet tall, clever, artistic and unique… or at least I thought he was… as soon as the magic faded, it turned out he was nothing but sour cream…
Ahhh, cream puffs… this year, for me it is, (wait for it….)
Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares Limited Edition Peppermint Bark.

Cream puffs (by all definitions) are simply irresistible. Emailing you soon. xoxox
Hmm…do you know, I have NEVER had a cream puff? Ever.

Mm looks so delicious and tasty. Never heard or tasted a cream puff before, don’t have these over here. But I use to call my man Puff. 🙂
Have a marvellous weekend /Therese
Oh divine yumminess! All that creamy, custardy goodness…my weakness is Portuguese Custard Tarts – it is an experience that blows my mind. The first time I took a bite, I was transported to another place…ok, bit over the top perhaps, but you understand. By the way, your paint door is a work of art itself x
Hello Vanessa,
for me it’s all about chocolat…
greetings from belgium
Inge
Oh, I think I have been cream puffed a few times. As a young girl a chocolate eclair was the the way to my heart and I am still given them for my birthday by the men in my life. It has to be real cream and the packing is very important (boxed, of course).
Now where oh where can I get a cream puff like that….. I neeeeeed one!!!!!!
Oh, I have the fondest of memories of petit fours from my younger days. My mother told me that my brother brought some to their house for Thanksgiving, but *sadness* I was not there to partake. I must locate me some petit fours in the near future. Yes, I must! : )
Oh my, yum!!
And what a fun post.
Vanessa…
I’m with you…you have to splurge every now and again without feeling guilty. I adore cream puffs and I haven’t had one in years. I think I need to change that! Maybe after the holidays, when all is quiet and blustery on a clear February day, I’ll take a drive to my little bakery and splurge on a cream puff. But I don’t think I’ll share!!
I have been splurging all weekend for my birthday. My daughter (who started baking when she was about 10 years old) made a double batch of homemade Cinnamon Rolls for my birthday!! They are Heavenly. I am eating them with no guilt because, at least once a year, we all deserve that!!

You are naughty, but nice. Cream puffs and pastries and cookies all sing to me to come and partake. I love them all, but should not look. The temptation is so great, but with a lovely cup of tea too – how can I resist.
Ahhhhh…le cream puff.
Le POOF!
je t’aime
Le yum.
:o)
Kathy
Now I simply must have one.. Aaaaarrrrggggghhh! 😉
My mom use to make the greatest yummiest cream puffs too. Unfortunatly I can no longer have those nor can I jump in the car and go to my bakery and get them. So, I will continue to drool over yours as I can only imagine how wonderfully yummy yours are. Thank you for sharing them.
Yes, you are a bit evil to tempt us all that way! Our resident Cream Puff is our precious Lovee (yes that’s really her nickname!), a Corgi-American Eskimo mix who is the sweetest, most loving dog ever! She’s a rescue dog from the mall 6 years ago, and I don’t even go to the mall, but something happened that day. Her real name is Lizzie, and she does look just like that cream! Will be off to the bakery tomorrow, hope you are having a delicious weekend :))
xoxo, Andrea
I love eclairs. I don’t buy them very often.
Your cream puff looked yummy.
Loved you tale of the cream puff.
Have I ever loved a cream puff? Hmmmmm, I don’t know that I would call him a cream puff.
oh sure, torture us! When I was 18, I used to stop at Leslie’s French Bakery EVERY DAY for an eclair…..(for over a year)……the real thing….
I have stooped to buying frozen ones (getting the idea from chocolate fountains at weddings) but can never wait for them to thaw out.
My husband is a chewy oatmeal cookie! (but my daughter’s boyfriend is definitely a cream puff – and not in a good way……its a mom’s intuition)
Hi Vanessa,
Just stopping by to catch up on your creative posts and to say hello. I love cream puffs, and now you have made me want some sweets.
Happy Sunday.
Karen
I don’t have a cream puff tale to tell right now, but I might have one tomorrow :~)
How do you stay so thin?? I’m jealous.
Ditto Wendy’s comment!! I’m sure I gained a lb or two just looking at these pictures, *sigh*….
I made them myself many years ago (the tricky part is mastering creme fraiche) and have always wanted to try a croqembouche, but never seem to have enough of a crowd for the holidays to justify it. And without a crowd, I’d eat it all myself – I can’t think of anything more heavenly than cream puffs AND spun sugar, hehe!

Oh…..my…..Sweet….Gooness…me!!!! YUM!! I NEED a cream puff now!! tee hee!!
This is heaven itself, methinks!!
Happy Sunday Miss!!!

Vanessa, YOU’RE a cream puff of an arm twister, you know?
🙂

My cream puff is Pumpkin pie. I can never have just one bite, no, no, never!
Take Care Dear Vanessa,
Tracy M.
Your post was confection perfection! I do adore a well made cream puff….oh the memories : )
My daughter and I are new fans!
Hugs,
Terri
I feel the same about POTATOE CHIPS!!!! LOL..you crack me up girl.
When I was about 13 my mom took a cooking class. She already was an amazing cook. Anyways, they learned how to make cream puffs. They are sooooo good!!! I wonder if I can get her to make them again (after Christmas). She is busy making gingerbread cookies and other Christmas cookies now.
Katharine
Thanks a lot. Now I have to go to Sam’s tomorrow and get the enormous box of crummy cream puffs. Consider my next 5 pounds ALL YOUR FAULT!!!
Oh what a delicious little cream puff. How wonderful that you saved half to share with Mr. Lovey. I have the same on occasion. Although we do tend to like different sweets. LOL It is late, otherwise I might JUST go in search of cream puffs or chocolate chip cookies or … well, anything with chocolate. 🙂 xoxo Theresa
That cream puff does look delightful Ms. V! I got this white chocolate, cinnamon, and caramel popcorn yesterday and have completely indulged (to the point where, I can’t believe I am still eating it 😉 But oh my, it’s so lovely…I just can’t help myself. So glad you enjoyed HALF of the cream puff…how nice of you to share with Mr. Lovee 😉 😉
Jamie 🙂
That looks so good. If I wasn’t hungover from my cupcake palooza I had this weekend I would so make sommadoze later….I’ll take your word for it – I bet it’s a delicious treat!
oooh… I did, today.
Despite a tiny cold and very cold weather I walked to my favourite café and had sticky chocolate cake. Comme ca: http://blog.afiori.com/2010/12/fika-day.html
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I love that you have such a sweet tooth! I was looking about to see if you had links to some of your sweetest recipes, like that interesting salty-sweet cracker cookie you made, or the salted caramels, and here today, you have me hungering for the perfect cream puff.
OOps. Sorry. I just drooled a little. Beautiful beautiful shots. You are too cute for words. **blows kisses** Deb
