Summer nights.
What better than homemade pizza on these lovely evenings?
It's easy and shouldn't let you down a bit, I promise.
I was out of unbleached flour.
So, I just mixed in half wheat flour.
But I have been known to even grind up oats and make an oat flour pizza.
I figured since it's the weekend, and some of you even have gardens giving treats you can use, what better time than to remind you of my easy recipe?
I didn't use my pizza sheet this time, I just dusted a standard rectangular cookie sheet with a little wheat flour, and just built up the sides a little.
I was in the mood for a rectangular pizza like my French friend used to make.
Veggies, cheese, fresh basil at the end.
Yummms.
What better way to end it than with our favorite summer nights in the garden?
Under the trees.
Mister Lovee playing his guitar.
Dogs running around playing.
Testing new wand too, bwahahahaha!
😉
Testing.
Burning toe.
But good fun.
Oooooo, magic wand times, I love it!
(okay okay, it's just a sparkler)
A cool breeze blew in yesterday late afternoon.
I put on my walking gear with hopes to get stuck in a storm.
A huge storm was on the east side of me, another on the west with lightning, wind, rain all around, but never a drop on me.
See, it's a bizarre Arizona after-all, and always.
Summer nights, tucked into the memory vaults.
Love them so.
Happy Weekend!
Hope you make pizza, trust me, you will never see pizza the same once you make it yourself.
Has anyone tried my recipe before with success?
Eeks, I hope so!
Okay, off I go!
Loooove, V
ps: Random tid-bit…
If you are a die hard Tori Amos fan (since 1992 here), then you know she is on tour and rocking it big time, even throwing in massive awesome covers into her great vibrance and sound.
She's 50 and amazing as ever.
So, what better could she do than cover a fave, Depeche Mode, right?
Love her cover of In Your Room, you can watch it here.
What a collision of two faves!

Mmmm! Sis, I love your pizza recipe. I have tasted all the different pizza toppings you have made and this one was very tasty. It’s so nice to have the freshness of the basil from your garden, too!
You make me jealous because you are a master in the garden, and is it turns out, a master in the kitchen, too!!
So… What’s for dinner tonight? 😉
Brown sugar beans with leeks, barbecue grilled chicken (which you won’t eat), baked potatoes and…… I don’t know what else, pan dulce for dessert 🙂 <3 The beans are goooood.
OK, it’s the middle of the night and I want pizza.
Wondering if squash is good on pizza. My garden is
going to give me a ton of squash within the next week.
Your pizza looks delicious..I am sure it is. Such wonderful fun you are having…Love the sparklers at night and dripping candles. Have a great Sunday.
Mmmmm…your pizza looks amazing and now I want a slice with a glass of wine. Haha. It’s almost lunch time here, too…so that’s perfect. ‘;)
“In Your Room” — *Le Sigh* – my favorite Depeche Mode song, so smolderingly sexy. She did a good job with that cover.
I rollerbladed yesterday and did 10.77 miles. Whew. It’s too hot here. I’m a hot-house flower and I don’t say these things lightly. Send some of your cold weather our way.
Your pizza looks delicious, Vanessa! I’d love to try your recipe but I am gluten free and have been using a Red Mill mix for those times when we venture into home made pizza making. My hubby is very good and makes it for me even though he doesn’t have to eat gluten free. I miss real pizza and this has come the closest to “normal” pizza for me.
I can imagine it is for sure!!! YUMMS!

Oh YAY! Your veggie pizza looks too yummy, Miss Vanessa! We made homemade pizza all last winter and now we really don’t like pizza as much that we don’t make ourselves! We discovered “Pizza Yeast”, which seemed to make the process much easier, plus, I cheat and use the dough hooks on my mixer to whip it all together in no time flat! Our local grocery store chain (Hannafords) makes a great pizza sauce that is just tomatoes, herbs, olive oil, garlic and salt (I do not like pizza sauce with any sugar or corn syrup in it). And then, we get creative! Lots of cheese is a must for us, but I have to admit we haven’t had a veggie pizza in a good long while (but when I did, I liked to add a small sprinkle of either blue cheese or feta along with the mozzarella). We occasionally splurge on scarmorza (smoked mozzarella) and make BBQ Chicken Pizza with it. It’s a good thing we didn’t have it for dinner tonight because I would be downstairs raiding the fridge for leftovers! I love cold pizza!!!
Sending hugs to you, Mr. Lovey and your lovely Furry Boys!
Betty
Wonderful pictures!
Who could forget your pizza pics? Definitely among my must-try recipes this coming weekend…and yes, I agree homemade pizza is the best.
xoxo
OH yummmmm!! You know, I dont even knead my dough, no knead time, I
just mash it up until it all comes together and that is it, and only 30 minute
rise time. I wonder if you would like it if you tried it? I LOVE
cold pizza too. In fact, I love left overs in general, hahaha!!
xoxo
These days it is so easy to pass up on the homemade when so many things are easily available to us store-bought and pre made. I’m going to test this recipe out one of these days, I promise! It looks too good to pass up!
