Paper Snowflakes 🖤

I almost forgot my yearly tradition!

Cutting paper snowflakes.

(You can find my detailed tutorial here)

Paper snowflakes 1

I can't think of anything better, during holiday madness, than unplugging & getting cozy somewhere to cut paper.

It's so calming in the midst of crazy days.

I like to cut all sorts of paper.

Tissue paper, sheet music, antique ledgers, wrapping paper & even regular ole computer paper.

I love hunting for curious scraps to cut.

This little piece of ledger is from 1891.

I used the "v" shaped snowflakes cutting method.

Sometimes I glitter them, sometimes I don't.

All the details about how to make your own are right here.

Paper snowflakes 3

I loooove when little hearts turn up.

Paper snowflakes 4

Tiny paper hearts tumbling down all over as you snip away.

So sweet.

Paper snowflakes 6

I was feeling sort of overwhelmed by the holiday hustle and bustle.

I ventured to a busy store and the reality hit me.

🙂

But paper cutting brought me right back down to earth.

Paper snowflakes 5

Just what I needed for sure.

Paper snowflakes 9

I stuck them to my old cabinet and was pleased as punch.

Isn't it so funny, with all the fancy schmancy things out there?

In the end it's paper snowflakes that make me feel all holiday happy.

And calm to boot.

I bet you have oodles of wrapping paper hanging around.

Odd little pieces too?

Nothing better I can think of than making a few.

Paper snowflakes 11

They're also so pretty placed on top of wrapped gifts.

I guess that fact is, snowflakes look lovely anywhere.

So, just when your head might pop off your body from holiday stress…

Stop the madness by sitting in a corner with something hot to sip and make snowflakes.

I bet it'll take the edge right off.

A natural valium.

Haha!

I'm watching mysteries and going to cut a few more.

Such a perfect Friday evening I'd day.

I should be doing a million other things but I faced the shopping world…

Shipped out all my order parcels with love from the shop.

Tackled a shed (yipes!)

And, am going to now take a free night.

I still have lots of clay goodies waiting for paint…

So, I'm thinking they should just be new year goodies.

I just submitted some art designs for some new products, can't wait to share.

But for now, it's all paper.

Will you make some snowflakes too?

Back to my tea & mysteries I go.

See you soon.

Love, V

Sparkly heart

  1. We have paper snowflakes on our weekend agenda too. Thank you for the inspiration.

  2. I love your style of snow flakes, lovely Miss V! Thank you for always sharing your most inspiring and wonderful creativity. I was thinking a snow-flake paper ‘chain’ like paper dolls in a row would make a lovely mantle piece ‘bunting’. I am going to experiment! Sham Rocks, Daisies, Rabbits, whatever the holiday, making paper ‘chains’ with snippets sounds exciting! See! This is what fun I have coming to your blog as you always get the muse in my head thinking ahead to as to what I might see on the other side of ‘the looking glass world of magic!’ to make next year too!
It is too crazy ‘out there’ in our city, but I have to go get a take-and-bake chicken and artichoke pizza! Eeek! And it’s raining! A good soaking rain all day long.

How delightful. I haven’t made paper snowflakes since I was a child. Those would make a beautiful garland strung across my kitchen area. Thanks for reminding me of this magic.

  4. Enchantingly pretty snowflakes!
Thank you for all of the beauty, creativity, whimsy, and inspiration you shared with us throughout 2015. A visit here is always a true delight!

These are so lovely! I’m grabbing my scissors and some paper after I post this!
    Hugs 🙂

  7. Renee says:

So pretty. Your paper snowflakes always remind me of a unit clerk where I worked. She would start cutting out little snowflakes and we would hang them all over the nurses station. (She passed away suddenly a few years ago. Memories of her always make me smile).
I helped my daughter yesterday with her little day care. I helped some of the little ones making their Christmas crafts. They all love doing crafty things. It is great. They are just 2 and 3 but they have fun.

  8. Your paper snowflakes are lovely for the Christmas season. They make a lovely vignette on your cabinet’s glass doors!
