The blog soiree of the season is being held at the Swashbuckler Castle in just a few days… So, I decided to start a little early. Have a colorful little outdoor party for myself, to celebrate the upcoming event… (may I add that, everyday in itself, is reason enough to throw yourself a party)
I am so in love with color! Do you think I could convice a Swashbuckler to prance around in fun stripes or delicious polka dots? Hmm, it might take some moonshine to get away with that one…
I must say, discovering a can of Design Master, Olive Bright #790, on my shelves, was more excitement than my little heart could contain! It was enough to get me to Olive Brighten up a brass candelabra!!!
May I humbly add, that I made all of the ceramic treasures on this table… Most of you know, I have been a potter at the Tucson Museum of Art for many years… But, believe it or not, this is the very first time I have set the table, solely using my creations…
I best make sure to set a place for Miss Mouserson… She would be terribly offended if I didn’t…
Don’t forget to set your table (as well as yourself) with lots and lots of ribbons. Ribbons (or little strips of precious fabrics) make everything extra special…
Be sure not to miss all the lovely edible and rare treasures that might make their way here by way of a magic pirate ship (on Saturday)…
Can you imagine, that a green candelabra could spark such joy, and cause all this raucous…
I have been soaking up the lovely weather, and just indulging in thousands of flower petals… I have been throwing them up in the sky…
And letting them rest upon my walkway… Amazing really, how such a simple pleasure, can feel so decadent…
I had better be on my way… Here I am dreaming and playing, when I have tons to do… And paint!!
Especially with an almost perfectly healed leg!!! We have to paint the town hot pink, chartreuse, yellow & teal! Don’t you think???
Oh and I almost forgot… I have a new colorful Creature Collections, print in the shop. I so thank Miss Holly Becker of Decor8, for featuring it!! (You can see it on her blog, if you scroll down to one of several 4/30/2008 posts) That was a lovely surprise for me this week!!
There will be siblings joining this piece soon. I can’t tell you how much I love white with brilliant splashes of color, and vintage love!
I am excited to share what comes next in this series. I am still working on more paper dress girls… And, like I said, the new dolls are 2 seconds away from complete…
See you, oh so sooooon!! xoxo, V
ps: the photos in this post are funner if you click on them, to enlarge, as you go…

Wow! You have been working so hard Miss Vanessa! And, this post is just such eye candy.. I love, love, love the fabulously joyful colors!
OH, so bright and cheerful! This is why you and miss Tiffany would really love to decorate together I think. She has a chandelier in her kitchen she is always decorating in bright colors. Now I wouldn’t be surprised to see her paint hers bright green too! It is just so pretty! so glad you leg is better!
I’m completely in love with all of the colors! Each and every photo was magical, Miss Vanessa! Your beautiful creations had me smiling and feeling all sunny inside…and thinking of all the ugly old things I should paint with Design Master Olive Bright #790!!! And ribbons, I must get some ribbons!
Thanks for inviting me to the sunshine, my dear! hugs bugs and happy days to you!
And a little happy honk for good measure!

I am thinking this just may be my most favorite post you’ve ever done!! And you know I’m not The Queen of Color. That would be you!! May I be your Lady in Waiting??
How spectacular to be able to set a table with ones own creations! You have me eating out of your hand. Or better yet, sipping out of your teacup!
XO

What a wondrous pre-party….you could use some delicious, decadent…eye candy cake…

Happy tea on the lawn!
Ahh, Vanessa, stopping here is like a humongous glass of sun tea on a hot hot day. I think it’s my favorite corner of the blogosphere.
I agree with the comment above. Stopping by your blog is sooo so nice. I love all of the colors and what you did with the candelabra especially. That is the perfect shade of green and I’ve never seen ribbons and fabric scraps look so yummy! You set quite the table Miss V.
I am LOVING that strawberry bowl!!
What fun and magic always abounding here!

The colors are fantastic! We should paint ourselves pink and blue and yellow and walk around town throwing petals in the air. Hm..that might just scare people, but nevertheless..!
I agree with you about everyday being a day to throw a party. I mean, everyday *is* our unbirthday 😀
Oh! I want and Olive Bright #790 chandelier! How fun!! Save a place for me at your table. No matter what everyone else says..I am bringing Johnny with me!
Hi there! I just wanted to peep in and say hello! I really love your blog and shop, and I think you’re a great inspiration! 🙂

Wow I love it all!
Good to see you having fun and being away with the Fey, Not Boggles I hope!
Make me a happy kid and make a background out of that petals in the air picture. Or, if you can’t figure out how, just send me the picture and I’ll do it for you. Because it’s lovely and needs to be a desktop background!
holy smokes, V! You can decorate for my party any day (or night) of the week!!! I felt great before I visited and now, well, now I think I can float through the rest of the night with a grin and a giggle right behind my eyes. 🙂 love the pics (especially the petals in the sky & the painted parts of you) and your table setting is simply GORGEOUS!! Your ceramic pieces are better than fantabulous!
thanks for the happy May wishes. 🙂 ~M~
Oh, what a lovely set tea table. Oh the colors! How pretty and whimsical! Just like you Miss V!!
Love the prints!
Have a fabulous weekend dahling!
What fun happy colors!!
Miss Vanessa! I absolutely LOVE your beautiful green candelabra! How perfectly bright and colorful for an outdoor tea party!
I also love all your ceramic pieces, especially the tea pots…I simply *must* come to one of your tea parties before the weather becomes too warm for tea!
And just an observation….but Hun?…ya might wanna think about putting some of that paint on canvases and little clay forest creatures and dolls rather than on your very own limbs! I’ll just bet you eat paste… 😉
You are so much fun and I love coming here and seeing what adventure you’re off on or mischief you’ve gotten yourself into! Don’t EVER change my friend!
Oh…and I love the new prints! They’re so perfect for Summer with all their bright colors!
Yowsa, either you have yourself a new camera or it’s the Arizona sun in May – those are some incredibly VIVID photos you have there Miss V! So beautiful. You really know how to throw a party.
Where does one begin to comment when confronted with such vibrant colours and fun-filled party preparations? Love the candelabra and table full of your creations. Congrats on your feature on decor8, great prints.
Oh what a glorious assemblage you have created Miss V! I so love it…..thanks for the bliss!
