That sounds like a perfect title for just what I am looking for. Fun, pretty and happy things. Little things that make us smile…
Let's see – how about some new postcards? Yippeeee Yay! By popular demand, the Tree Party print, is now a satin double-sided happy lil' postcard too ;)
It is very cloudy today, hence my funny colored pictures. But you can see these more clearly in my shop, right here…
And the happy lil' backside…
More fun news? Okay, you got it 😉
A couple of months ago a magical being asked me to make her a backdrop for a cabinet much like my mini pastry shop. So, I painted away on mahogany wood, a lil' likeness of it, to fit in her cabinet. Then I decided this piece should be a postcard too.
And so, we have the wee Pâtisserie surrounded by a hovering pink sky, right in the thick of the Magical Cypress Forest 😉
Front…
Back…
I looooove making new cards. It feels like Christmas when I get to see new cards come to life…
I have one more, Miss Sweet Treat. I made her single sided, the back is white and satin. Endless options.
Perfect for printing out sticker invitations and popping them onto the back as well…
All treats can be found in my shop, right here…
Also, can you believe the Halloween buzz all around? I was in Michael's last month and it was looking very fall and Halloween inspired.
Sooo, I went ahead and made sure all my Halloween cards were in the shop. One can never be too early. And of course, we should have a party again this year, don't you think??? 😉 :)
Tid-bits about last year's Halloween fête here at A Fanciful Twist are actually in the new issue of Artful Blogging. So, there is one of my wee secrets, freed at long last ;) I am smitten with so many blogs I have found via this issue, just smitten!
Yep, that is my silly witchy-poo self there, blush giggle snort… I LOVE working with Christen Olivarez. She is wonderful!
Anyhow, that's enough about me, myself and I! Let's talk about you! And how much I love our visits, and how I have not had a giveaway in like 5,000 weeks (that is in elf time of course).
Sooooooo, I have two, already put together (so it doesn't take me ages to ship them out), postcard packs to share.
Full of a random assortment with envelopes, from my little shopling. Yep, two. So, simply say howdy or tell me what your favorite color or flavor is. Or what your favorite thing to bite into is. Or what your favorite perfume is. Or what your favorite toothpaste is, oh anything. And, I will pop your name in a real hat, of which I will draw two names out of next post 😉
Also, if anyone knows the true secret spell to dealing with Sony Camera or any call center for that matter, please send it my way. I have mud and roots and all sorts of things ready to put in my cauldron (not really).
They have made my life miserable for two days – 8 different people – a total of 4-6 hours on the phone dealing with a bad newish camera (which I bought to replace my other Sony DSLR that was blitzing), and they say they have never heard of a camera doing such a thing, and then patch me to someone else…
In the end, they say the only way my camera can be doing this - Black Thing on all my images (I have only had it for 4 months by the way) –
Is if I had submerged it in water or dropped it. But, I know that you know that without my camera, you and I can have no blogging love affair. So, I protect my camera as I would my very own elf.
I know you know this. SO please, do your best camera spell from over there. One would think that the camera only being 4 months old and having a 3 year extended warranty (which I purchased) wouldn't "warrant" such treatment of my poor sensitive soul 😉
So, that's my camera rant for the day. I had to tell you or my head would pop off my body out of frustration, and now I feel better :)))))))
Goodness, don't you hate it when people whine 😉
Anyhow – I must tell you, the only thing that has brought me peace and visions a plenty, such as of floating in a lake in a gown from times past surrounded by a forest, is an album titled, Orla Wren The One Two Bird and the Half Horse.
A sonic masterpiece by Tui, with sounds and voices that will take you to another world. Tui shares a world with the incredibly talented Rima Staines (amazing artist). You can journey with them through magnificent realms at Into the Hermitage. I am linking to the blog post about said album right here… Take a look at the videos to some of the songs as well.
I ordered a copy of the album at Cargo Records, right here, and it arrived in less than a week in perfect condition…
I listened to it all night and all morning, and as soon as I finish typing, I must listen again…
Hauntingly beautiful sounds, I tell you…
So, with that, off I flutter. I need a skip around the yard…
Magical meanderings abound!!
🖤,V
ps: Don't forget to pop your name in the hat if you'd like 😉

Halloween!! It’s coming, isn’t it?? I do adore Halloween. I must fluff up my witch hats!!
My favoritest thing in the world ever is joy!!🖤!!!🖤
Crazy giddy feeling that bubbles up from inside. Gleeful silly happiness kinda joy.
Sometimes it’s a joyful surprise, like a bunny sighting or a beautiful sunset; a good movie or a happy memory
Sometimes its a joy to the world kinda thing, where everyone’s in the yuletide spirit. Or happy hearts day. Or for me 2, halloweenie!
And then, there’s the joy i feel when someone makes my heart go pitty pat.
And when my favoritist Arizona elf goddess gypsy artiste posts 🙂

Oh favorite things!!! There are so many to name.
Right now my favorite thing is that cute card with the pink sky and the french patisserie.
PINK is my favorite color, but then I guess you would never have guessed that…tee hee!!!
Pretty sunsets, moonlit nights, roses in bloom, raspberry sorbet, and of course that decedent chocolate cake you ate the other night. Ooh!!! Chocolate is my absotively favorite thing to bite into, but then there is also buttered popcorn with a good romantic movie. Ah, the list goes on and on and on, but I won’t bore you with any more less we find ourselves here at Christmas time…oh Christmas time!!!!!!
And of course I’ll say, heer heer, with Rooty Toot Rooty Roo about you, little Fanciful Elfin girl ;-)…my day is always brightened when I see a new post from you.

OK, do I get my name in the hat now? :))))))
Oh such fun! Halloween is by far my favorite holiday. Preparations have already begun (mentally anyway!) Oh and I love pink…sparkly pink and ice cream and the smell of snuggle fabric softener, orchid vanilla something 🙂
Its never too early for Halloween! Love your new cards. I love the color pink and the taste of peanut butter…mmmmm pink peanut butter with sparklies? no?
I’m looking for more on the the redo of the gypsy wagon. You do inspire me sooooo much. And as for the camera issue. I had problems with my Sony. Kept getting people I could understand when I called…so chunked it and got a Canon…problem solved!! O and my favorite is chocolate dipped cherries and Pepsodent toothpaste and not together!!Hugs. Barb
My favorite party is a tea party, which this very evening I hosted for my 17year old daughter and her friends. They are chatting away at the tea table on the back porch even as I type. You would enjoy them, dressed up in their foofy dresses. They had cute shoes on but somehow lost the all in a pile at the door!
I so enjoy your fanciful blog! Thanks for keeping a fantasy world around for us to get lost in!
I adore Chocolate, Marzipan and Liquorice…and yellow, purple and red.
I also adore your blog and you…and your new cards.
Lemon-lime and cherry, that would be my favorites.
And one more thing, I’m putting the biggest Texas hex on those ninnies at the camera place that you have ever heard or seen.
Cool postcard! …. Favorite color is orange, love pumpkin pie,the smell of coffee, and my favorite holiday is Halloween! I would love to be added to the hat! 🙂
Only because you asked: Favorite color black and red. Used to be blue but in my dotage I’ve changed it up. Obsessed with frozen grapes, MAC gold cologne, Colgate baking soda & peroxide whitening oxygen bubbles brisk mint. How can a toothpaste have a longer name than Liz Taylor and all of her married names??? I like Pina Coladas
and getting caught in the rain
I’m not into yoga and I have half a brain
I like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the Cape
I’m not much into health food
I am into champagne.
Oops. TMI.
I adore you, my Magical Muse.
**blows kisses filled with magical spells to make the evil person on the help line at Sony BEG to give you a new camera** Deb
Oh Vanessa, your new cards are gorgeous. I love the one with the house. I was photographing my daughter’s horse at the barn last year, when I fell, and so did my poor Sony. After that my Sony always had a weird blue tone on some settings, but perfectly fine on the auto settings and record. I don’t know what I did, but about six months ago I treated myself to a new Sony. I still use my broken one and have thought the aura in shades of blue on the other settings. I must tell you now I buy those warranties on everything, just in case I stumble again.
Oh, it’s just terrible when our camera’s are out of commission. I felt totally devastated, because I loved that old camera, it took perfect photos. Try all the settings and see if the aura only appears on certain settings. Then you can prove that you didn’t get even a droplet of water on your camera.
Well, I wish you luck, and I’ll say a prayer that the angels heal your magical lens.
Karen
I shall list my favorite blog.
It will be very hard for me to choose just one. The most favorite of all, but I think I can, I think I can. Oh alright you know me too well.
It’s yours dear girl, it’s yours!
The new postcards look wonderful.
best wishes & kisses,
Birdie
Oh I would love to have my name popped in the hat too.
I really can’t think of a favorite thing at the moment…i’m just no good under pressure.
I have been hoping you would mention a Halloween party. I missed the Mad Tea Party and really want to make up for it.
What can I say? I love YOU Miss Vanessa! You are my favorite thing to savor!
Enjoy the day, sweet thing!
xo
E
OH, a new postcard, Miss Sweet Treats! I don’t have her, and I think I have all the others — going to have to get her soon. Love, love, love.
And I need to find a pretty bell jar, I think, when my doll arrives. You’ll have to make some suggestions of places if you know of any stores (Pottery Barn didn’t have tallish ones, only short and wide ones).
(And, btw, the heat index here was 116 yesterday and 113 today. Blech to humidity. I don’t know how you stand living in heat for so long!)
OOOOO Vanessa! How delicious! Great giveaway! I hope I win!
I love that you pop names into a real hat. The art is lost now days. You’re blog is one of my favorite things. I discovered it search for art and such inspired by my favorite book. Alice in Wonderland. Your tea party was inspiring!
My happy thought/favorite thing- homemade cream puffs, empanadas, day of the dead fabrics, and beautiful blogs.
You know that time when all the leaves are a vibrant orange and the air smells like fire and cinnamon? When all the little fairies come out of their mushroom homes and they fill the trees with little specks of white light? At night the sky is violet. It is cool enough that you can sleep in the hammock on your best friend’s front porch. You can make fresh pumpkin bread and you can wear fairy wings without people giving you dirty looks.
That is my most favorite time of the year
Good Evening Mizz V,
Ahhhh I think your postcards are devine – quite the enchanting flair to them that makes them sooo adorable…oh please oh please do have another magical Halloween soiree…I missed last years, but I promise to fly by and show my best treats & tricks and magical surprises…
As for my favorites of sweet treats – I melt for a good creme brulee and drool for a key lime pie…my color choices tend to change I must say I love the magical blue in my living room and the expresso chocolate on my kitchen walls with accents of pinks in many different accesories..my art studio is more of a soothing mint green but my bedroom is a creaming yellow with hints of pink & creme here & there – but my bathroom is a mix of all except for the brown…my head spins with delight when I see all different colors in some one else eyes too…as for the toothpaste – well I’m a Crest Kinda Gal regular paste too…oh well…
Have a honey of a night – sweet dreams!

PS please do add me to your Halloween party list queenbeeofcreativity.blogspot.com
Oh me oh my V…I do hope that camera gets itself worked out, how dare they treat you so poorly 🙁 You never know what you are going to get with customer service these days, bah humbug! And oh, my fav new perfume is ‘Cartier Panther’ it’s devine…but I love me some Marc Jacobs ‘Daisy’ too and Burberry ‘Britt,’ can you tell I like to smell good, tee hee. Oh I always love your postcards and my friends love receiving them, yay for your generosity! And YES, another Halloween party would be lovely *hint* *hint* And you know I was thrilled to see you in my copy of Artful Blogging again, always makes me smile! Okay, go yell at those Sony people some more and make them fix your camera, sending wishes your way!
Jamie 🙂
I’m not on your blog list, what you don’t like faeries??? and I dress up in fairy dresses and wear wings all the time LOL
“fine”
kaeriefaerie52.blogspot.com
Loving your poetry as usual, even your camera rant…hope that all works out for ya. Since it’s the 1st “fallish” day we’ve had this year, I must say my favorite thing about a gray day is hot tea and honey, mellow music and creating into the night! The gym will still be there tomorrow!!
I have recently found your blog. What a magical place you have created here. I love visiting! Thank you!
i am so lucky to already be in possession of your lovely postcards…i have them strung up in my ‘studyio’ and i gifted the other half to the lovely linda of lilly cottage.
my fav perfume fragrance has a special meaning to me. my best friend died from leukaemia the same year i was married and during our teen years our favourite perfume to put on before a night out would be
‘YSATIS’ by de Givenchy
i still wear it now and always think of her.
my girls still remember last years halloween party 🙂
smooches rosey
only found your blog a week or 2 ago, & i’m so glad i did. it’s so magical! i am also in arizona, in fact, i was born in tucson and love it there.
i also love postcards. have you heard of postcrossing.com? you swap postcards with folks from all over the world. makes you realize what a small world it really is. your postcards are gorgeous and i would love to have them – either to send or to keep for myself. xoxo
Oh, I hardly know where to start….
I picked up the new Artful Blogging this very evening (the magazine person at Barnes and Noble calls me the minute it arrives now, hehe!) and had to sit down in the cafe to read it IMMEDIATELY – becoming so immersed in last year’s Halloween party I didn’t even see my husband pulling the car up outside the window, waiting ever so patiently for me…So THAT happened….
And Halloween? Never, ever too early!! Of course, this is coming from a Halloween artist, so it’s possible I’m a little biased. 😉
Favorite perfume? So many, depending on my mood…Paris by St Laurent, Cabochard by Gres, Tuscany per Donna by Estee Lauder, and used to LOVE Azzemour by Crabtree and Evelyn, until they discontinued it.
Favorite color? All of them at their most vibrant! I’m especially fond of jewel tones. 🙂
Favorite flavor? Sooooooooo many….for breakfast – a fresh croissant with orange marmalade and a cup of strong espresso, for lunch – a really good brie with crusty french bread and a glass of red wine, for anytime a pumpkin creme brulee (or any creme brulee for that matter.)
Tui’s music….beyond amazing, and tops my “to buy” list! And isn’t Rima’s art incredible and otherworldly? I covet her clocks…
Have I rambled enough now?
Anyway, please do count me in your drawing – I would soooooooo LOVE to win a set of your most magical postcards!
~ Carolee
OH MY your new postcards are as magical as ever! Beautiful artwork!!
And I’ve been seen in the Michaels Halloween aisle a time or two already. The wee ones like to look at the Haunted Displays with moving parts, figuring out which one we need for our growing collection!
Have a fabulous week Miss V!
Denise
{wish I could help with the camera, but I’m having some issues myself!}
My favorite thing? Vanilla. I love to cook with it, eat it, bathe in it, burn candles full of it, powder with it….you get the vanilly drift. Someone told me the other day that I always smell so sweet. My husband thinks I smell like a cream pie. I’m not so sure that THAT is a compliment….. I’ll have to think about that. Other favorite thing? Your blog my deary dear! – Kathy in Chicago
Favorite color: RED or Hot Fushia Pink
Favorite flavor: Carmel
Favorite season: Spring
Favorite holiday: Christmas
Hi! Vanessa,
My daughter purchased a camera from Costco a couple of years ago and she took it in a year later and they gave her a brand, spanking new one. Try that approach. Tell them you have not been happy with the camera from day one and get a brand new one…especially if there is a warranty on it.
Oh, I love Sobe’s Pina Colada flavor…and I tend to like the Gothic colors…black and the dark burgundy, along with black and white stripped long stockings, and of course a shantung silk black hat……..
daahhhrrrlliinnngg…and loooong black lacey gloves. You know, the Practical Magic look…hee, hee!
Count me in for your lovely drawing. I just adore your postcards.
Teresa in (hot and bad air quality) California…but we do have awesome sunsets!
I’ve been totally worried about your new camera. These things are awful! (In the world of luxury problems of course – but it’s the things we NEED to make a freakin living!) Of course they try to blame it on you. Tell them you live in a freakin DESERT and that there is no water.
My favourite perfume to wear is Shalimar 🙂
A perfume I love on others is Poison. Too dark for me.
Favourite thing to bite on… watermelon! Favourite thing to eat… chocolate gelato in Rome!
Hi Vanessa
How about, my favourite blog is A Fanciful Twist? Do I get an extra name in the hat for flattery?? 😉
Sue
>^..^<
Vanessa…You write so magically!!!! I simply can not get enough of your blog! I would love to have my name in the hat you speak of so here is my favorite perfume: Magie Noire by Lancome…it is trully an enchanting sent! Be prepared for comments if you wear this.
Another scent I love is Butterfly Flowers by Bath and Body Works….takes me back to another time.

Oh tee hee!! Your beautiful self is famous!! 🙂 Look at little miss witchy poo there, in the magazine!! 🙂 meeeeeep!
And all your pretty and peppered punch postycards!! I do love them to bits and pieces!!
Oh, call-centre-people-who-don’t-want-or-are-not-able-to-help-you-out. I know the frustration. It’s okay to rant for a little while, we all do sometimes. How about a little hair of a unicorn, combined with the tear of a cyclops, stirred with a sniff of Neptune’s salt. Sing your favorite song, run three times around the largest tree and free the hidden butterflies. I heard that might work. On the other hand.. if it doesn’t.. I would say that warranty is warranty, and I’d put my foot down and refuse to hang up before someone helped me. (Someone once told me people at callcentres are not allowed to hang up the phone before the customer does. Or is that a Dutch rule?). Goodluck with that… I would hate it if you weren’t able to take your lovely pictures anymore!
Oh, and yes, ofcourse, I would love to put my name in the hat. My favorite thing to bite in? Euh.. Do babytoes count? I swear I do it gently!
Fun, pretty and happy things, indeed! Except the camera thing… I have been dealing with that sort of customer service over a different issue, but the same buzzkill attitudes and passing on to another department for hours on end, day after day and I feel your pain! It’s a world I hate visiting, and try to stay out of. It drains me to the point of feeling like a limp dishrag. OY!
Your postcards are fab, and I can’t wait for Halloween!
Congrats on the feature in artful blogging!
Drop my name in with all this good company in the hat, if you please!
xo Isa
Why hello Miss V!
Such pretty Halloweeny items – some friends and I are planning our first ever Halloween party (it’s not a big event down here in Australia!) so I shall definitely peruse your shop for invites!
Also did a mini write-up/ramble about how wonderful you are over on my blog!
Camera issues are never fun! 🙁 I had a similar thing when I first got my new Sony Camera (an A300) – except mine was just the shadow from an extra extender piece on the lens… But with an extended warranty (I bought one too) they should be fixing it or at least offering more assistance then they are! 🙁
I hope you manage to get it fixed!
And please drop my name in the lovely hat too
x
The Halloween party sounds magnificent. I’m wondering if I can pull one off this year. I wanted to do one last year, but by the time I thought about it, it was too late, not enough time to prepare…
My favorite thing right now…fresh tomatoes from our garden!
V~
Hey there….I love the new postcards..so pretty…as usual!!!!
I too can’t wait for Fall and Halloween which is shocking because I love summer and hot weather so much 🙂
My favorite thing right now is ice coffee…crazy..I know but oh so good!!
Have a magical week my friend!!

TRacy
Thank you so much for a making this blog,it is my favorite one and one of most favorite internet sites to go on.
It helps me to start daydreaming again. i so want a gypsy wagon, sigh
Thank you for giving me a place to go from the real world.
Kathy
Hi there!
Let’s see…..
I like Hee Haw. It was the backwardest, perhaps silliest show ever, but I love it.
“Gloom despair and agony on me” was great,
as was
“Where oh where are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone? I searched the world over and thought I found true love, but you met another and PFFTTT you was gone.”
I’m also awfully fond of opalescent things. And cameos. And new crayons. And autumn. And good velvet. And YOU!!!!!
Have a lovely day, V!!!!
Oh Dear! Camera problems are the worst!! I went through that nightmare myself! Hope the wicked spell on your new cam goes away with the next brisk wind!
I wouldn’t mind having my name put in your hat….if they’re is still room?? Your hat runneth over yet??
My fave perfume: Have you ever tried Clarins ‘Par Amour’? It is quite lovely! I also favor Narciso Rodrigues’s line.
fave color: hard one, but probably sea green.
fave flavor de jour: vietnamese iced coffee…refreshing!
fave season: def def def autumn!! ahhhhh!
fave holiday: Christmas, closely followed by Hallowe’en.
Well, off to the studio to sew….ciao dahling!!
Ohnoes! I don’t have any camera advice for you, sadly. I have a totally different kind of camera.
Your new shop items are delightful as always!
My favorite toothpaste is Tom’s of Maine Cinnamon-Clove it has a wonderful spiciness to it.
My favorite perfumes come from the Demeter Pick-Me-Up sprays – they come in just about every scent imaginable and smell just.like. whatever they are supposed to. Fresh cut grass, chocolate chip cookies, honeysuckle…
My favorite thing to bite might be a peppermint patty. Have you ever held one up to your ear and broken it in half? It makes an AMAZING sound. The more slow the break the more strange the sound. 🙂
What an adorable blog! I love all the pictures. It’s very inspirational.
Oye Chiquita!!!
Stand firm with Sony!!! Politely remind them that you ARE the customer, and you can always take your ever so disappointed self to one of their competitors who have much better customer service!!!
Ahhhhh my favorite, taste, scent, touch, sight, and sounds all reside in the body and soul of the love of my life…LW !!!!
Pattie 😉
Mazatlan Mx.
What’s my favorite thing? I could never pick one. But, I know your artwork would be on the list of my favorite things. I hope you get your camera fixed soon..replaced…mine is on the top of my favorite’s list~
Lovely postcards! I like the witch too-hope her spell works! My only tip for call centres is learn the sequence of numbers to press to get through to a real person-on most of them you can pre-empt the annoying ramblings of the recording and get through the sequence slightly faster.
I was hoping you would do another halloween party-last years was fun!
Oh-and my favourite perfume is Hypnotic Poison, followed by Allure, followed by the furry smell of my cats!
Sarah x
I just love coming to your blog. Its the first blog I check each day! My favourite colour is blue, or maybe green. Well, i love red and purple too, and then pink and orange… ok, maybe I don’t have a favourite colour, I just love colour!
weeee, a Vanessa giveaway!!! i would love to be fluttered into your hat on a piece of paper.
your new postcards look lovely (i adore the back of ‘Pâtisserie’)
as for halloween, i’m seeing it everywhere! seems to get earlier & earlier every year. i’m ready for it though, i’m mad about halloween. costumes, candles, candy, and pumpkin seeds!
Hi! OMG I cant wait till halloween 🙂 fall and christmas are so exciting to me. I like every color ever made, by the way, but I do love my black and orange. Also would you believe it, they discontinued my favorite perfume, jovan fresh patchouli, sooooo sad! Anyhow I hope your day is going well and your enjoying the late of summer. talk to you soon.
-HurricaneKassi
Break out the candy corn, pump up the pumpkins !!!.The bestest color is glitter. The yummiest flavor is spicy. The best sniff is rain and the my favorite toothpaste is chardonnay.
Giggle
OK, I really use sensitive toothpaste because I am just that kind of gal……..
My favorite perfume right now is Nina by Nina Ricci. I am not, however, pleased that both the silver plastic leaves broke or the atomizer did…leaving me almost having carpal tunnel syndrome in my finger every morning while I’m trying to spritz myself. I also change out my scents when we go to fall and winter…that scent being Prada. Which has a large silver bottle and has not broken in the least…So, it’s almost winning out as favorite…only I think the scent is too heavy for the spring and summer.
Apparently I have a lot of time on my hands to think of such things…
Hi:
Please add my name to that Magical hat of yours and put some sprinkles in there so my name gets picked!! Fav. color – RED, is there any other? Fav. food – popcorn, if that is a food. Fav. thing to do – crafts of all sorts.
Thanks,
Kim Budash
I love Stella Primrose Hawthorne because she speaks to bees and makes rainbow gardens grow, and sits in roots of trees. I love flowers in hair and dog baths and bumbling buzzing plump bees. I love heart shaped soaps that smell like roses and pink elephants that dance. I love sweet pups in party hats and sea queen tiaras made out of shells, coral, starfish and pearls. I love the numbers on clocks and humptey dumptey birthdays. Chicken curry salad is good too.
OH I just adore your creations. Lovely lovely lovely
V My favorite color is green….no blue….maybe sunshine yellow…..definately pink….aqua really is so beautifu…..lavender is lovely….love red, black and white….
Do I really have to chose one? Just not possible in my world! Hope my name goes into your hat! My hat is off to you and your wonderful blog! Hugs!
I love Stella Primrose Hawthorne and rainbow gardens, flowers in hair and hats with a flair.
I love heart soaps that smell like roses and pink elephants that dance. I love the numbers on clocks and humptey dumptey birthday parties. Chicken curry salad with with grapes and mangoes is good to.
I love dark chocolate.
I love buying beautiful paper. I can’t resist.
I love Halloween, and I’m very happy it’s just around the corner.
I love Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles.
I love old movies better than new ones. I’m a Turner Classic Movies kind of gal (especially the films of Hitchcock, Bette Davis, Errol Flynn, silent movies and musicals).
Having said that, I do love the films of Tim Burton and Baz Luhrmann…and any movie starring Johnny Depp. Can’t wait to see him as Barnabas in the Dark Shadows movie.
and…
I love Coco Mademoiselle, the outrageously expensive Chanel perfume. I’ve decided it’s my birthday present to me later this month!!
Love your cards! My favorite flavor is dark chocolate…especially espresso dark chocolate truffles – yum! And Halloween is my favorite holiday, but I can’t believe it’s almost here already!! Guess I better start working on a smashing costume! Thanks for the giveaway…hope I win 🙂
Lisa
I think I’ve de-lurked here before, but mostly I just sneak in and eavesdrop. Your post about why you approach life the way you do, about your “new” normal, had a HUGE impact on me. I don’t think I ever said thank you, but I am saying it now. Thank you.
I would my name added to the hat please! I was just thinking today how much I love the color pink. So many shades and it always reminds me of candy…yum!
Can’t wait for the Halloween party this year, I didn’t participate last year so this is exciting news!
oh, heaventy christmas you KNOW how I feel about your postcards!
P.S.-I hope your issues with the camera get resolved soon. You’d think that in this economy, customer service would get better, not worse! Grrr…
yellow, vanilla, cupcakes, Love by Aveda & Crest Total : )
Can I get my name popped in the hat? My favorite thing to bite into is my mom’s Lemon Ice Box Pie. It’s dee-licious. She makes all from scratch with lemon juice, condensed milk, all kinds of tasty stuff.
Hi..
I can feel the magical spirit in your shop, you got a unique cards full of charm.
Favorite color: Black,blue and white
Favorite flavor: chocolate
Favorite season: Summer
Favorite holiday: Christmas
Love,
training courses XOXO
My favorite scent is my own special blend of patchouli and amber oils…I cannot wear perfume, it makes me sneeze, but oils are delicious and I must have a scent.
My favorite toothpaste, hands down, is MacCleans and I don’t think you can get it anymore. My grandma ALWAYS had it at her house when I visited.
My favorite color is every color, but my very most favorites are green, pink and purple.
My favorite thing to bite into…well, I like to bite into a lot of things. Pizza is a favorite, chocolate chip cookies and right now, juicy nectarines and watermelon, but my very favorite thing would probably be chocolate cake in the form of a swiss roll.
My favorite beverages are tea (hot and iced), diet coke, chai lattes and water….water is in everything and is important to all of the functions of your body!
Okay…I could go on and on…
Erin 🙂
I love your new postcards. They are so pretty and perfect. My only tip would be to ask for a manager. I worked in a call center and managers hate to have an open problem on their desk. Good luck.
mmmm…favorites!
Cornflower blue, forever and always.
Blackberry Sage tea with raw honey and cream.
Boysenberry pie.
Very early morning.
Spinning wool by a woodstove.
The river.
Late night hot chocolate.
Scrabble.
Any of the above in the company of my husband. 🙂
I’m sorry I don’t have any camera advice! I have a Canon DSLR and have used Canon cameras since forever and they have always given me AMAZING customer service. They fixed for free a camera that was well beyond warranty and even cleaned it up to make it look brand new. At the very least, Sony should be bending over backwards to make you happy if your camera is having problems before your warranty is up. Boo on them! I hope it gets resolved soon.
And, yes, please add me to your hat!
satsuma oranges
&
black magic markers 🙂
(favourite smells, as you asked!)
thanks for this Vanessa, visiting you and Lisa and my other colourful friends have pulled me out of my abysmal world these last few days….
kind of like getting a bucket of water thrown on your head, or slapped on the cheek with a white glove, 40’s movie style.
i feel more awake, and grateful now.
yes, Hallowe’en is a comin! whooooot!
Love the One Two Bird and the Half Horse, must find a copy. xoxo (that Hermitage reminds me of Christian someone or other…that California artist…such lovely little Hermit people in the forest)
xoxo
I’m no techie so the camera problem, sad to say can’t help. And you’re right, the camera has been a blogger’s friend. If one want to make his/her text come alive – then snap away pictures LOL.
YOu know, it is not very common here in my place to celebrate Halloween. There are some who do, but it’s not the same as there in the US. It is interesting to see those costumes and how families prepare for it (oh including treats too 🙂 )SOunds fun. I didn’t get to see your Halloween party last year as I was still new to blogging and not sure what I was doing but if you do host one this year, I am curious :-)I did enjoy The Mad Tea Part so I’m sure this one will also be a blast. Didn’t you say this was you fave event? 🙂
Li
I sometimes stop to chat first with the call centre people…where are you? how’s the weather?.how are you doing? I think it suprises them..sometimes that helps smooth the way…I’ll send you good vibes so you have magic wings to fly a new camera …I am in love with blueberries..musta eaten 10lbs so far this year..love all shades of green..and am loving the feel of cool water while swimming…thanks take care…
Favorite color would have to be red or maybe green – that bright spring green – but i also like blue and purple and sometimes pink.
Your blog makes me smile! Keep it up!
Chris
I’m feeling a little lost today 🙂 – though I must say your page does load much more quickly now…
A couple of days ago, I saw your Halloween photos while in Barnes & Nobles and danced up & down for you (fortunately, it was very busy, so I didn’t cause too much of a scene, everyone was distracted anyway).
Congratulations! Sending get well wishes to your camera too!
p.d. please put my name in your elfin hat!
Please add my name to that hat.
My favorite color is …COLOR…
I find as I get older that I just like color.

I so enjoy reading your blog. You’re a creative, charming soul. I love the Halloween layout you did last year. Halloween is one of my favorite days to celebrate–so fun. And, because you asked my favorite toothpaste is pepsodent.

I am so glad you are doing the Halloween blog party. I so enjoyed last years party and go so much inspiration from it. And of course The Mad Hatter Tea Party was a success and lovedddd it too. I wish you the best and I hope you get your camara squared away very soon.
Many WIshes To You
“5,000 weeks in elf years”…I love that. Speaking of which, I gotta tell you as much as I adore all of your works I think I love your wee creatures and elfins the most! (And dollies too) Their faces are too precious, but alas, every time I check your shop when you have new ones..the one I want the most is always gone. *sob* But they go to wonderful happy homes so I guess I can’t be too sad. (Not that I don’t have a happy home, which I dooooo) Favorites…I love Ralph Lauren’s Romance and Tommy Hilfiger’s Tommy Girl for perfumes (oh there are so many lovely perfumes out there…I love Juicy Couture’s one too) I love Marc Jacobs bags and Christian Louboutin heels (though I can’t afford them, I just adore them to bits). ….Kidrobot bags, sparkly makeup, masquerade masks and giant lollipops. Cupcakes with extra sprinkles and super fluffy tutus and corsets and chandeliers with lots of pretty crystals. (Speaking of chandeliers, I am DYING to paint one of mine some really funky color..but I wonder if I should paint it turquoise or yellow…) Oh I’m sorry I’m practically commenting an entire post! How rude of me, I’m taking up space on your comment page. Well anyway, I have a lot of favorites, I can’t list them all. OOooH and paint! I love paint, it transforms just about anything. Okay I really gotta go now.
XOXO You’re a doll, V.
~Krista
Oh and one more thing…congrats on getting in Artful Blogging! I almost shriek when I see your name in any books/magazines but I try not to so I don’t scare the other shoppers. Yaaay!
Oh oh, yes and (I am so so sorry, I’m being terribly rude commenting so much, hehe) a Halloween Extravaganza! Halloween is my favorite time of year…*siiighhh* I can’t wait. Your parties are the bestest.
Vanessa; when my camera did that it was when I was using the flash; apparently the ‘timing’ was off between the aperture and flash. Best to have it in to the shop so they can open her up & have a looksee.
That owlie face continues to be my favoritest thing evar! I have mine near my ‘vanity’ mirror so I see it every day!
Ok …. you said we can say anything to get ourselves in line for your fabo goodies… so I am going to say “ANYTHING”!!!
Also ….congratulations on being in the Artufl Blogging book….
AND….
I KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR CAMERA IF YOU ARE REFERRING TO THAT BLACK THING ALONG THE SIDE OF THE PHOTO …
It is the lens…. while you didnt drop it …someone sure did…. I know because I have a Nikon and DID drop mine… and when that happened the lens kept slipping … since you have an extended warranty ….you should be able to take it back to the store you bought it from and they should replace it….now dont hold me to that should I be wrong …but that is what they (extended warranties) are for….. its worth a try anyhow…. unless you bought it online…. not sure how that works… but most online stores will replace items too….
Let me know if this all works…
HUGS
JO
Hello Miss Vanessa,
Just passing by and saying hello…
Love your new cards.
~ Gabriela ~
oooh please place my name in the hat!
My favorite color isn’t one color, it’s combinations of colors, and the resulting change brought about in each color by being next to X, Y, or Z color. And being a jewelry artist, transparent/translucent colors excite me! My favorite perfume is called Moksha and has Sandalwood, cedar and all manner of deliciousness within it!
Thank you!
xoxo jill
