Wonderful Pottery Days…

Sitting here, enjoying dark chocolates filled with caramel and sipping coffee, for breakfast…Getting ready to be on my way back to pottery!  Yippee.  The studio at the Tucson Museum of Art was closed for Winter Break.  Today is my first day back!  A day for creating, but mostly, for seeing those wonderfully amazing ladies who create at the studio also, it is like a family. I have been creating there for 6 fantastic years!!  I usually stay for 12 hours straight.  It is one of those things, when you start you just can't stop….  Here is a snipette of some of the things I have made…

Bugamartini_2

Giant plates, this one, called Bug-A-Martini ( Archibald is trying to catch a bug in Martini's hair)

Then there are the funny little holders.. . you should see people, they want to buy these, but they stand there debating for 45 minutes what the heck they will put in them???? Hee hee…

Wacky wild masks, like this lovely Mr. Flamboyant, whom I will be devasted to part with….

I am into these two faced vases right now, I have three waiting to be glazed.. but to get those colors is a long 3 step process….Same vase, two totally different faces…

There are also the Sgraffito Teeny Tiny Plates, you have seen before…I think they would be fun to use for your soy-wasabi mixture for sushi…Or, just to hang in a row on the wall??? They will be in Etsy soon, soon I hope…I am paiting like a mad woman too, but my prints are causing me pain.  I am going to have them professionally done today….Then Etsy will be closer…I also have to finish two huge commissioned paintings, so my time is flowing out of my hands like water…soft water…

I also make crazy Bird-feeders, and truly, seeing birds in the mouths of these creatures is outrageous.  I sold the huge mouthed opera singer before I could photograph a bird in her mouth….

Operabirdfeeder

Miss Opera bird-feeder  had some fab earrings that I made her, per the Doctor and his wife who took her home…I think he was going to put her in his practice office and put jelly-beans in her mouth…At the top of the head is a covered shoot, where you pour in whatever it is that you fancy  in your "feeder."

I think I will work on many pottery pieces to use in a new mosaic path I am planning…

Here is the chocolate crackle recipe: super easy – melt 200g of choc with 2& half cups of puffed rice breakfast cereal. Dollop in mounds on plate and leave for about 1hr to reset. Then gobble, gobble, gobble.—-Michelle
