FUNTASTIC. Thanks for sharing with your sisterly witcherly types here… but you know, it’s that shot of Matty Boy that makes MY pointy hat fly off my head. What a hunka hunka burning love you’ve got there. You have GOT to bottle that soulful expression.
    Happy Equinox.

  3. Rhonda Roo says:

All across America, there are spiders taking a second look at their webs (well, the ones with PCs anyway-you know, the ones with BYTE bwahahaha) and they’re looking at their old webs and saying ya know, i like my design but…GLITTER!! and COLOR!!!!
I say, give it a few weeks, and Nat~Geo will be reporting on a fanciful new phenomenon in nature.
    Oh yes.
    XOXOVIIXOXO ROO

  22. Ok, before I go and try to make my own spooky paper spider webs, I just thought that I would let you know how much I love your website. Last June I had the most marvelous time creating my own Mad Tea Party (http://greenandwhitegarden.blogspot.com/2010/06/mad-tea-party.html)
and visiting many of the other Mad Teas in the Land of Blog, via your kind invitation. I was very saddened by the news that you had suffered a loss during that time. No doubt there are many memories that now bring smiles and warmth to your hearts.(and still more tears) My little siamese ‘Jenna’ of 17yrs, left me over eight years ago, and I still miss her.
I thought about participating in your upcoming Halloween theme…but am afraid that it will not be possible this year 🙁 But perhaps next time.
Thanks for all the whimsy that you are.
And thanks for sharing it with us.

  23. Miss Lori says:

Ahh how lovely! And this gives me (glittery) some ideas for the paper snowflake swap I am hosting. Matty is so cute!! Hee-hee! <3

  24. Maia says:

I just made one of each and really enjoyed it! I used origami paper for the second as it’s already black. Now I’m off to the fun part of decorating; of course no spray paint for me as I have to do it indoors!
I think I’ll hang some from the lamp in the bathroom on top of the mirror and surprise my husband. 🙂 Thank you!

  25. I really love this! thanks for sharing!

  26. GG Pinkster says:

The fairy danced into the garden when unknown to her the Ruby ants were crossing the morning dew and were biting through.
Holes were hidden snuggly in the ground,
    Where screaming cactus thorns sound.
Twisting and turning in the morn,
    Hearts bursting yet never forlorn.
Waking and dreaming was it a forest or 2,
    Weaving moonlight in bathing shoes.
Casting her into an autumn ship,
Of pirates and 31 parties moon cake’s nip.
Oh goodness the 3 witches plus 2 gather round,
Sewing and stitching, weaving threads surround.
Blessings and goodness to you my dear
    Full moon harvest tear.

  27. Lynda says:

I really enjoyed making these! Thanks for giving me an outlet for creating while my son napped!

  41. Kim Lockwood says:

ok sorry for my dumb moment, but on the first one you showed us, my brain is not getting the part where you fold it in half again but only crease the bottom?? Do you open the paper up once you’ve folded it the first time with the open side at the top? I did the second web no problem. Tx!

  42. Dawn says:

Vanessa, I absolutely love these! I can’t wait to go to the store and get some spray paint and glitter. I have two boys (6 & 14) and I think they will have a lot of making these too! (ahem, also love the moss & green paint on your thumb – might have to do something like that for Halloween!)
I hope you don’t mind, but I featured your post on my scraplifting blog:

These are so lovely! I discovered this tutorial yesterday when I was searching fo something exciting to do with my preschoolers! They had so much fun cutting and “unwrapping”. (unfolding…definitely their favorite part!)…we finished them off by painting them black and gluing on a pipe cleaner spider! A huge hit! Thank you!

  49. Marion, wonderful news!! YAY!! I am so glad it worked for you
