A little secret space…
Under a great big tree.
This is where we meet to dream, on these hot summer days.
Colors and textures and sounds intertwine with warm breeze…
Chirping birds gather above, as hummingbirds come right up to you, wings buzzing about.
Lovely shade…
A little boudoir…
Graced by filtered sun light.
Where we serve tea…
And treats.
We sing, and dress, and lollygag in our best…
Barefoot.
Wavy long disheveled hair.
Our jewels beckon the fairies with their own twinkling tune…
Treasures meet earth and dirt.
We dream up this and that…
Spells, herbs, miracles, magic…
Spells and Wish labels, always at the ready.
Draping on collections…
Coins, carnelian, turquoise, citrine, mother of pearl…
Someone likes this lifestyle.
Most certainly.
Smiling all day.
Whilst his big little brother sleeps amongst the pumpkin vines that creep around the big tree.
We pick the first zinnias and dahlias…
Marigolds too.
Passion fruit vines swirl up the tree…
While black eyed susans, mint and nasturtium cozy up together.
Right under the canopy of branch and leaf.
That’s where you will find us…
On these hot summer days…
Catching waves of dreams, dangling off giant moon beams.
And always, always…
Serving hot tea.
At a quarter past 3.
With biscuits and fig jam.
Fig jam made by mombie, from the hugest fig tree I have ever seen, living in her garden.
Where she and dad collect buckets and buckets of figs.
And then, there is jam.
Jam for us dreamers.
Dreamers who wander through thoughts.
Accepting complexities of life, and learning just to be.
This is the task of us tender hearted dreamers, you see.
The quest of quests.
To enjoy this life, with a free happy soul.
Content.
With big breaths.
Song in the wind.
Hope in the heart.
That is what these dreamers dream.
For us…
And for you.
Always.
xoxo

I so oft marvel at your garden’s delights and all the lovely tea things and gypsy snippets and trinkets and loveliness! How can it all be real!?? You life an enchanted life, Miss Twist!! Thanks for sharing bits and boppets of the magic!! : )
I am so glad I have your lovely little world to escape to when I need a break at work. The gypsy garden is far more pleasing that florescent lighting and uncomfortable office chairs!
you should definately make a poem book off all the things youve written on your blog, everything that is poem related, you should also take the necklaces you just made and take your pictures that youve taken off your garden, and everything else youve taken pictures of, not just your postcards canvases that youve created. and doin other then just squares for your jewelry you could do other shapes like circles etc.
Marmseeee, fly on over any time on your hot air balloon or magic carpet 😉 We would LOVE to have you…….
Oh, work days….. offices…
Can you believe I miss them sometimes?
I didn’t miss the office world for years, but lately, I feel an itch…
WEIRD!!
😉
Haha, I do like it and I am sure eventually I would miss it too, but it just takes up so much time in the week that I would rather be doing other things (like frolicking in gypsy gardens and such)! I wish I could just work part time, but then I wouldn’t be able to pay my bills. Sometimes being an adult is no fun at all!
ps. I am probably supposed to be working instead of leaving comments on your blog, you won’t tell anyone will you? 😉
Vanessa:
These words you wrote:
“Dreamers who wander through thoughts.

These words are the heart of my life.
Thank you for always saying just the right thing on the right day at the right minute!

I adore all your gypsy garden posts. Thank you for sharing your beautiful world with us, Miss Vanessa!
Oh my sweet V!!! A blogger just left me a comment mentioning the Mad Tea Party coming soon!!! My oh my!! Time flies when you are having fun!!!
I would love to do a little something but…will I have time to squeeze more dreams in my happy little universe? ( if you check my blog you will definitely understand).

Sigh…oh Vanessa, you delight and enchant me with your stories and pictures. It is freezing here in Melbourne Australia, and I am sick, sick, sick! Oh, to come here and dream – how lovely. Wish I could join you at quarter past three for a sip of tea (I am coveting that delightful dispenser of tea!) I promise to wear my best jewells and flowers in my hair. I shall bring Pip along to play with the boys, although she is a little shy x
Thank you ever so much! Means so much to me. Maybe one day we can have a huge gypsy garden bash 😉
I know for 100%, that you would be a perfect guest!! Fly on over, through dream ways sweet friend! Stay warm, sick is yuck. Love, V
OH YOU!!! Helooooo there, so nice to see you!! We missed you 😉 xoxo
What a fun, magical, gypsy garden! ~Tricia
Well, if I can’t dream IN your gypsy garden, then I most certainly will dream ABOUT your gypsy garden. Soooo gorgeous! I love it.
Sometimes I think certain posts of yours are my favorite and then the season changes and I have new favorites again. This is my new favorite. Its so wonderful to have such a grand summer dreaming place, thank you for sharing it with us. It is full to the brim with the magic of sweet summer shadows hiding in site of the dessert dry sun. So grand!
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie
Lately I’ve been eating lunch at my desk to save money and gas and to NOT shop (Which is sooo hard). I put on my headphones and play some Tori, Florence or Imogen and go through your blog. I dream I am helping with your garden (I have a black thumb, so this is a dream!) Chasing your lovely furbabies around, sipping your tea in your gypsy wagon and trying on all your wonderful bejewelmints…at least for an hour. Then back to the grind with loud phones, papers and chaos. Thanks for bringing some peace to my stressful, chaotic world, at least an hour at a time.
Hugs,
Dawn
Oh beautiful!!!
Hi: I love how everything looks. It is just so welcoming. Wish I was there. Thank you for sharing this lovely space with us. Blessings, Martha
God has designed and created you for a very special purpose. I’m starting to believe that you are here to provide a place of solace and peace to everyone who enters your beautiful world via blog, FB, etc. How wondrous to know that you have most likely exceeded His expectations for you. You are exactly where you are supposed to be and doing exactly what you do best, I believe. I will echo the sentiments of all here who say that entering your “space” provides a calming and therapeutic affect unrivaled by any spa.
Maryann
In lucid dreams of honey bees and dragonflies, I ride the wind from my valley in the North to your desert down South and sing a song of joy on my ukulele lounging on your couch under your gypsy tent and then whisk away back up to my hummingbirds and groundhogs waiting on their tea and biscuits.
Did you see? I spy in my garden… a… little door!

Hello Dear Friend Vivi!! Lovely to see you in your and gorgeous world!
What an excellent world you do live in!!
Happy Late Birthday to your Papa and Lovee!!l Pete’s was on the 20th. We were in Nola and it was a great time (except I miss Coco our Cat when we leave and I worry).
Other than that………….I am finally feeling happy again after learning what it means to loose my beautiful mother. My creative spirit is returning. It is hot outside, and I am fueled with inspiration, gratefully.
When will we meet? Or we should speak on the phone one day, alright?
Love,
Constance

Oh oh, I think I heard you Niffy 😉
13 mounds, oh my , awesomeness!!!!
Constance!! I adore you. Telefono, pronto for sure!!
I am so happy you are healing your soul….
Your dear Mama was so beautiful in every way.
I never go anywhere because I would not have fun leaving my furs behind.
I think we need to go up to a time share in the white mountains (az), and bring them with us.
Much Love!!
Adorable garden space with light, shade and magic… breath- taking. And, I have your doggie twin- she looks just like your eldest boy, right down to the tail. Really.
Ah magnificent peaceful dreaming you’ve been up to. Dear Miles loving life I see 😉 This my dear V is movie-set worthy!
Thank you inviting me into your magical gypsy world, utterly enchanting and oh so welcoming with all it’s beauty and style. Do you mind if I stretch out in the chair with you and play that lovely guitar? We could sing, two gypsy girls in song. Singing and being, being and feeling, learning to be. I love how you put it, it is the ultimate human task, to learn to just be, and to accept what is, enjoying the moments. I hope you have some gorgeous snuggly and happy moments in your lovely gypsy garden my dear friend.
How absolutely enchanting! I would so love to sit with you, sipping on lemonade or iced tea. I know “wild Arizona” is hot in summer but this looks so refreshingly cool and relaxed and just beautiful. 🙂
Oh, I’m a dreamer alright, and as John Lennon said:
“You, you may say
I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one”.
When I see your beautiful life and all of the loveliness that you bring to those near you, plus those of us who follow along on your blog; you give me inspiration and hope to keep dreaming. I really needed to see this as it’s been as especially TRYING week at work. So, thank you.
Side note: I am coveting your antique silver tea Samovar. What a gorgeous thing.
I now realize why Samovars are such a great thing, it’s the spout, like the new lemonade containers sold everywhere. Yours is just gorgeous! I’m currently house sitting my sister’s patio furniture and have been thinking of piling pillows and blankets on them. I don’t want to buy tons of stuff for it cause it will go back to her when she needs it. In the meantime old pillows with blankets wrapped around them make a great cushion for a large iron chair.
The other night I sat with a camping lantern and tried to read and pretend I was camping. It was a gorgeous night with just the right temperature. I was in heaven!
I love your gypsy garden so much. I think someone else above talked about how they come here to your blog during lunch hour. I do too! It is so peaceful here, and dreamy. I have to wonder, though I know it doesn’t rain there often, what do you do to protect trinkets?
Bella, when/if it rains (for example, it had not rained since February, but
it rained yesterday finally and it was glorious) I just bring my valuables
inside in a tray, or valuable textiles etc. But I leave everything else
out there – like fabric and things that I dont care if they get wet, because by
the next day it will all be dry again 😉
A wonderfully, magical, enchanting post! You write so dreamily and your photos send me to the moon and stars*~*~*~*~*
Thank you! Love your gypsy garden world!
