Spring crept in…
Bringing the wisteria blossoms with it.
Gobs of beautiful fragrant flowers droop and sway.
Where big black bees, furry bumbles and butterflies gather in bliss.
At least, I like to think they are in bliss.
Everyday we stroll out to the wisteria.
Many times a day actually.
I started with 3 wisteria vines 3-4 years ago.
Two from White Flower Farm (ordered on-line) and one from Home Depot.
The one from Home Depot is huge and beautiful climbing up our front porch with strength, but has yet to flower (they say it can take 5 years to bloom for the first time?). So, if you are buying one ask if it will bloom soon, or how old the plant is.
One of the vines from White Flower Farm didn't make it, not sure why?
And the other one is doing gloriously, it's the one you see here in the photos.
This is its second, but best, year blooming.
I am taking advantage of every little flower drop.
Collecting in my potion jars, all the dry flowers that carpet the ground.
(you can find some potion labels of your own here)
We are all so in impressed with the amount of blooms this year.
We just stand and stare and breathe in big gulps of early spring air.
The vine is twisting around a patio gazebo in the garden.
Actually, if you want to know the truth, one of the artists sold the gazebo to me after an art show we did on our property years ago. She put it up for the event, but was too daunted to take it down and asked me if I wanted to buy it? So I did.
Soon thereafter the canopy tore to pieces and I was just left with the metal, so I put it in a little space outside of the tiny gallery, where an old greenhouse used to stand. Now the walls of the greenhouse are all that are left.
Along with some locks and window frame pieces I find in the dirt from time to time.
Actually, it was a greenhouse built by Fenton, remember him?
Anyhow, Mister Lovee and I put the gazebo thingamabob in the old greenhouse space ages ago, and now the wisteria is growing up and around it.
I think it's a good place for wisteria to climb about at its own wild leisure.
Under pink sunsets.
Heads gazing up.
Never getting enough.
Oh spring, spring spring spring.
Like a lost love you bump into.
Falling into love all over again.
Knowing you will meet again once a year.
Sigh…
You gather up as much of its love as you can while it is here.
Never being able to gather just enough.
The time speeding by too quickly.
And yet, you wouldn't have it any other way.
Dry blossoms underfoot.
Never forgotten in jars filled with Fairy Wing Magic…
Beautiful wisteria.
Thanks for the wonderful visit on these fresh new spring days.
Lovely blossoms.
Are you a wisteria fan?
I was reading that "Wisteria flowers naturally bring to mind our need for peace, quiet, and time to honour the divine essence of who we are." (taken from here)
Isn't that wonderful?
How have the first days of spring greeted you?
Love, Vanessa

Vanessa:
My heart is all aflutter at the sight of your wisteria. I absolutely adore it. I have wanted to have an arbor covered in wisteria since I was a little girl. But alas ~ I have yet to conquer that dream. One day….someday, maybe. Maybe I’ll have an arbor, dripping with purple blossoms that I can stand beneath and dream and pray and breathe. Someday….
xoxo

Oh Yes! Since I was a little girl I have loved them .I’ve never owned one though. They bring to mind dreamy mysterious places on this great beautiful earth.A wisteria has to be one of the most beautiful things I’ve laid eyes on,up there with new born babies. The colors of lavender enchant Me 🙂
You know what the good thing is? It’s a dream that can really come true!! 😉 Last night Lovee and I stood under the rose arbor, the one that only blooms once a year – it was soooooooo dreamy and beautiful. And I was so happy that I planted climbing roses and had the patience to love and care for them, because the gift last night and these last few days has been gasp worthy. Dreamy endless tufts of white…. oh how i love spring and summer…. xoxo
Oh Miss Denise, I so agree with you. It’s one of those gifts of nature that you can hardly believe. The drops of petals and scent…. dreamy…
Your wisteria is gorgeous! I love the periwinkle color. Your lights make it extra magical, too… lovely. Spring has sprung. 🙂

How Bueatiful Vanessa!! And the thought of it growing and twining it’s delicate little vines around the gazebo….pure perfection!!
I am a huge wisteria fan and have three vines of my own. One ginormous one that bloomed the first year it was planted. It was gifted to me on Valentines Day by my sweet hubby. I have a purple and a white growing together over the bunny run. It’s blooming right now and is the loveliest planting in my garden.
When I had bunnies I fed them all a steady diet of bunny pellets…you know, the kind that fall from beneath the fuzzy tails ;-0? They love the acid. Maybe you should try some coffee grinds or a little Epsom salt at the base of your non- bloomer.
Eye heart ewe!!!

Or maybe you could follow the wee cottontails in your park like property and collect their wee droppings…teehee
I miss my Wisteria plants we had growing on our balcony outside the upstairs, master bedroom.
The glorious purple blossoms were my favorite in our entire yard. The long flowing vines, full of blossoms would hang over the balcony and it was at that time of year I could envision myself living somewhere in France in a fanciful world of Italian Cyprus trees, and vineyards. I was born in the wrong country! And in the wrong era too! I’d rather be sipping lemonade in a veranda with my white Jane Eyre style gown, and wearing white gloves and a white linen hat. I love elegance with a simple flair.
Thank you for these glorious photos of your divine Wisteria blossoms.
You made my day!
XO’s
Miss Teresa

I have always wanted a wisteria, but alas, I think I may try a Jacaranda tree instead someday, it kind of looks similar to me. I believe it is too hot here to grow in Phoenix. Its on my wish list though. Vanessa, your wisteria looks just lovely!
Oh, Wisteria…*le sigh*…looks so delicate, fragrant and beautiful.
I’m reading your reply to a comment above, about the patience to grow roses and smiling, because that’s SO ME with wanting my climbing Don Juan roses to ZOOOOOOOM up and over my arbor. I want a riot of petals and scent filling the air…but I must learn to wait for Mother Nature because she moves at her own pace.
Wisteria has always been my favorite flower. Love your pictures, V.
My yard has exploded with daffodils. They’re absolutely stunning.
Ohhhh, dont even get me started on a Jacaranda tree, be still my
heart!!!

Ms. Vanessa,
Unfortunately our melting snow has stopped melting, at least for today. As of last night we were blanketed by an inch of snow. EEeek! but good news is in the forecast, it is going to be 45 (f) tomorrow so the melting will continue. This morning it looked like a blanket of pixy dust with sparkles all around. Your wisteria looks amazing. I would love to know how you dry your flowers…will you teach me how? I can use it for future use when we do get some wild flowers,
Again, awesome photos.
I love, love, love wisteria. But we don’t have any.
“like a lost love you bump into…falling into love all over again” this made me weepy
you really have a tender heart, gathering the petals into fairy wing jars ~
maybe too tender sometimes 😉 My dad sometimessays I need to
toughen up, haha 😉

Miss Linda, on Wisteria I just let them drop and catch the petals. I was thinking I should have put a sheet under them so they would drop on a sheet. Also, if you want to dry the whole bunch, just squash it between the pages of two big dictionaries for a month or so 😉
Oh, I do love that sparkly snow. The peach tree has very few blooms this year for the first time, since it didn’t have enough of a cool snap. Poor thing 🙂
Thanks Miss Tiff, oh my daffodils only lasted a couple days since it warmed up so fast. Just love them 😉 Enjoy yours for me too!
Lovely Misha, one day they will just be super huge, usually on the third year. How old is your plant now?
Vanessa….there are plenty of toughened up hearts in this world….stay tender!
hahaha 😉

Daffodils have greeted me in my garden.
Love wisteria, but my husband thinks I killed ours.
I do believe I must buy him one for father’s day.
They always look dead before they come back, as do the grape vines.
Why does he think you killed it?? 😉
