Welcome March Blossoms

It's been so warm that we are entering March with blossomville.

Kind of love it really.

I just had to bring some apricot blossoms inside

Blossoms 26

The giant old apricot tree is doing its beautiful thing.

Every year I feel like I just can't absorb it enough.

Tree blossoms are so magical aren't they?

Blossoms 4

The bees are buzzing around madly.

I love early spring, what an inspiring time of year.

Blossoms 24

Freesia and little roses are starting to turn up too.

Blossoms 20

I head out and collect bits and bobs to bring into the house.

Blossoms 3

It's sort of silly how giddy the whole thing makes me.

The trees just lost their leaves in November, and now spring is here a tad early.

Blossoms 2

Lovin' it.

The boys romp around in endless fields of wild mustard out back.

Blossoms 1

And I spot…

Blossoms 14

Butterflies!!!

Yes, can you believe it?

I can't.

We have a dozen carolina jasmine vines in the garden that are blossoming too.

Blossoms 15

This one is in a sunny spot.

The butters love it.

Blossoms 18

Awwwwe.

Love them so, don't you?

Blossoms 19

Our oldest carolina jasmine is hidden in this shady nook as it crawls up a big tree.

It is a domed shady spot that I adore.

Once in there you can pretend you are just about anywhere really.

Fairy tale moments 😉

Blossoms 16

And so…

Just like popcorn popping open…

Blossoms 11

The fruit trees come alive.

Blossoms 12

Sunshine days.

Blossoms 8

I run and run around the garden path, which goes around the perimeter of the property.

And every time I pass the giant apricot tree I smell milk and honey.

Blossoms 7

One of my favorite things ever, I think.

Blossoms 10

Tree blossoms.

Blossoms 6

Tufts of goodness.

Blossoms 9

So many scents dancing in the breeze.

The freesia so perfume sweet.

Blossoms 22

Jars with flowers.

Well we all know what Martha would say.

It's a good thing.

😉

Blossoms 23

The excitement of the gardens coming to life, herbs springing up, has me going through my cookbook collections.

Blossoms 27

Spices and color infuse my mind.

Blossoms 29

Yummm!

Blossoms 28

It's happening in the high desert of Arizona my friends.

Spring.

Blossoms 25

I know some of you are still in cold and snow.

Some of you love it, some of you don't.

But hey, just think how awesome your spring and summer will be?

Blossoms 21

For now I leave you with the swirling scent of apricot blossoms and freesia.

If you are freezing right now, then I know this post is borderline obnoxious.

Don't throw a snow ball at me please!!

In a couple of days I will begin the wild chamomile harvest.

But today it's crazy windy.

Rain on its way.

The tiny wildflower sprouts will love it.

Time is fluttering right by isn't it?

Passing like lightning.

As dogs snore in their warm beds.

Never knowing what day it is.

Just living in the moment.

In ways we cant even imagine.

Imagine?

See you soooon!!

Love, Vanessa

Sparkly heart

ps:  I know some of you know already, but I finally joined Instagram a few months ago, and I spend days I'm not here over there.  Pop in sometime if you'd like 🖤

I love those pictures! I love Spring! Today was nice, 36 & sunny! I had my windows open a little to let some fresh air in! I know, it’s sad when 36 feels balmy! :0)
I’m trying to enjoy it because we’re supposed to get snow, ice, then rain tomorrow. Then a couple of really cold days before it gets to the 30s again.
I keep reminding myself that we’re at the end of winter, Spring will be here soon!
I was just thinking about what to make for dinner. I think I’m going to make enchiladas & tortilla soup. It’s still good soup weather!

  2. Bonnie says:

Your FANCIFUL ARIZONA, POP 4 sign is so great! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  3. Misha/Dawaioser says:

The blossoms on your Apricot tree are just lovely. If it bloomed at the same time as your peach tree, it would be madness…the scent so concentrated and intense. Your world is magical.
On a less magical moment in my world: we have purple fingerling potato’s that are sprouting. Hahahaha! I couldn’t resist that color and they screamed at me in the gardening section: “Misha! Buy us! Plant us in the garden. You know you want to take us home.”

  4. Erin says:

It’s still well below freezing here… 🙁 We probably won’t have spring like this with butterflies for another two/two and a half months. 🙁 The photos are lovely though!

  5. Jenn says:

Borderline obnoxious, nah, our spring is probably like the coldest of winters you could ever imagine. But to me it really is getting warmer here too, though beautiful blossoms like yours are still far off in May. I’m dreaming of those warm and butterfly filled spring days, and this post is certainly providing fodder for those dreams!

  6. m says:

You and Martha really should meet sometime, I think!
Hey, can that wild mustard be eaten, like greens? Just curious…

  7. I ate some of mine the other day, I didnt die. But I would be very careful to test first. Its very spicy so you cant eat much I guess, haha!

  8. Renee says:

Beautiful. It is a dreary, rainy, cold day here and I just turned up the heat 🙂
    I am ready for spring.

  9. So many flowers! So beautiful! <3

  10. Lisa says:

Lol, this post is not the least bit obnoxious (I’m one of those with negative temps still 😉)! It’s beautiful, uplifting and makes my heart happy. Thanks for sharing the joy of Spring!❤️

  11. So lovely! I promise not to throw any snowballs your way. Keep those spring blossom pictures coming!

  12. Chris says:

    Sweetie!!
Do you not LOVE those buttery colors, the lemons, the apricots, the popcorns?! Love it. and next week we spring forward!!
It’s been a pure delight to be on Instagram with you. Your feed is as yummy as your blog. Thank you for being my intabuddy!

  13. Marilyn says:

    Your spring is magical.
Fruit trees in blossom just makes my heart sing.

  14. Kelly says:

Your trees are sooo beautiful sooo magical as well as all your blooming gardens that are awakening day by day Vanessa!!!!
I fear that my potted freesias and daffodils needed some type of special attention this year because they greened up, but some are dying and others are not getting blooms on them. Any suggestions? Am I suppose to dig them up and separate bulbs or cant I just leave them year to year potted? UGhhhh!
I am looking forward to this movie ….A Little Chaos with Kate Winslet…coming out this month. Sooo much loveliness I can barely contain myself.
Loved all your treasures you found on your shopping sprees. Who is getting that pretty coat?

  15. Shell says:

I adore Apple blossoms. Every time our local Apple blossoms bloom it always truly feels like spring. On this cold wintry day, I dream of Spring. One day. It’s good to see someone else enjoying nice weather, Lady V. Apple blossoms dreams to you.

  16. Joanna DeVoe says:

Soooo lovely… All is merry & bright!!!

  17. That’s quit odd. Maybe they need fresh soil? I keep mine in the ground & they do well. But my potted amaryllis don’t look fab. Interesting indeed! <3

  18. Spring is my fave!

  19. Candice says:

Sometimes I forget to check out your blog because I become so preoccupied with Instagram. Instagram is so addicting! I love your apricot blossoms in vases on your mantel. So pretty! I cannot have live plants in my home because naughter Lily the kitty tries to eat the leaves or flowers. I have plants and flowers and succulents outside on the patio. The other day I let Lily out to roam on the patio and she jumped up on the table and began chewing on the little potted succulents. I can’t win!

  20. Your blog post has been a breath of fresh scented spring air to me. I’m so glad Zemanta led me to it.

  21. Michelle Lindquist says:

Loveliness! I know exactly what you mean about not being able to absorb it all. Nature and its beauty is just too much for me to fully take in most of the time — I feel cup-runneth-over by it, but yet still can’t get enough! 🙂 Your apricot tree is one of my top favorite things about your whole yard — aside from the garden tub and the gypsy wagon, that is! 🙂 Thanks for sharing so many dreamy images of its popcorn-y blossoms with us. And I would think this post would be less obnoxious than comforting and inspiringly hopeful to those stuck in a cold and harsh winter — in other words, I think they NEED you and things like this to help them through seasons like that!! 🙂 P.S. Yep, looooove ya on IG!!! :)))
