Giveaway fun!

It seems like a perfect time of the year for a giveaway!!

A pink and turquoise giveaway!!

Lovely day 2

Fun Fun!

Lovely day 6

Oh and, because I am in one of those butterfly stomach crafty excitement moods…

Lovely day 4

The giveaway is stuffed with things to make things, and bits and bobs of trinketries.

Lovely day 7

Say anything in comments, and I will enter your name in a hat to win the loot.

I'll draw a name for the next post.

I was going to ask you to share embarrassing moments, but, that was too much pressure even for me to come up with 😉

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

It was great around here, an all around lovely time with our guests, and lots to eat.

I worked crazy hard baking and cooking two days in a row, and it was so worth it.  Lots of happy bellies it seems.  I made a full traditional Thanksgiving meal.

The funny hit here were my giant yeast rolls, they were soooo HUGE after they baked!

A conversation piece and giggles a plenty.

I timed it so they came out of the oven just as everyone sat down, and the aroma was delicious.

(I don't have a photo after they were baked, as they got gobbled quickly, but they were double the size easily, haha!)

Lovely day 8

I will perfect the recipe and share it before Christmas, it's a fun addition it seems.

My especially favorite part of yesterday was being able to pick flowers, still…

Lovely day 9

To decorate the dinner table with…

Lovely day 10

Time for tea!

See you soooon!

Love, V

A sparkly heart

Happy Thanksgiving Vanessa! I hope I win the little gifty! HEHE! I will share an embarrassing moment even though I don’t HAVE to.
Last week I hung out with a gorgeous boy. After the hanging out, he didn’t ask me out… or for my number… or anything… DISHEARTENING! So as I was walking away I thought to myself “Heck no, I ain’t through with him!” And I turned around and marched right back towards him. I hadn’t thought this through… I got back and had absolutely nothing to say… it was very bad. I am not sure what came out of my mouth. He asked me if I’d forgotten something and I think I said something along the lines of “Uhhhh yeah…. uhhhhh, ok, found it, bye!!!”
    I am such a spaz…

Pink and Turquoise sale sounds so much more fun than Black Friday sales! =) I’m glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving – we did, too. Lots of good food and belly laughing (my favorite kind!). Your flowers are lovely – alas, mine have all died away here in Virginia and the blazing trees have lost their leaves (in fact, hubby is out there raking them up right now).
Oh, and bits and bobs of trinketries are some of my favorite things, too! =) Have a great weekend!

  33. Betsy Bailey says:

  39. Tina says:

So the creative muse is with me at the moment, and a little extra bundle of goodies to play with sounds wonderful…I will share an embarrassing moment with you just because. It was only Friday night actually, while leaving a friends house on dusk, that I smacked straight into their flywire door. Nup, did not see it! My head bounced straight off that thing, giggle…(I promise I only had a couple of glasses of bubbles…)

  40. m says:

Those flowers are so gorgeous! Lucky you!
I really dig that vase too.
Glad your holiday was a happy one.

  42. Karen says:

I made biscuits this week too which were also gobbled up right quick! I had some left over “self-rising” flour (I got for another recipe) and thought to try the biscuit recipe on the back of the package- they turned out quite yummy! Can’t wait to see your recipe.
Always a pleasure to lay eyes on your creations & to read your blog.
Thanks to you this Thanksgiving season!

  43. What beautiful flowers for the end of November! I’m happy you had a good Thanksgiving. Even though my Canadian Thanksgiving is in October I found myself cooking a turkey on the American Thanksgiving. We were having a major storm with huge winds and I live in a rain forest area where we can lose power easily with all the trees. What do you do with a half-cooked turkey if the power goes out in your area for a day or so? Yikes! Thanksgiving and gratitude is when the power stays on while I cook my turkey!

  44. TinaR says:

This weekend and most of next week is spent moving. Just me, myself and I to move using a small truck. So Thanksgiving was spent packing and moving and thankful that I have a charming apartment with some planter boxes out front! So will plant some flowers and herbs this coming week (don’t we love living in Southern Arizona!)

  45. Laura says:

Your pictures either make me want to grow flowers, or make me hungry!

  46. karenleigh says:

Your blog is one thing I’m thankful for this year! It always makes me feel better about life.

  47. RD says:

  50. Shell says:

I hope you had a Great Thanksgiving. Mine was good and my friday was even better. I have a cool annoucement to make on my blog next week all about that.

  51. Sis, I think you should send me the giveaway prize just because 😉
Just kidding! BUT, I do think it is lovely that you are having a pink and turquoise sale…. it’s very Southwest.

  52. Renee says:

I just made some ginger spice tea. It’s raining, I have world Christmas music on (aol.radio-I’m addicted) the tree is mostly decorated, the lights are on and I’m putting all the other little things out.
I have way too many embarrassing moments. Thankfully as you get older they are quite as embarrassing:)
Thank you for your posts that have helped me get through a rather bad year.

  53. Renee says:

OOOppps that shoulda been not quite so embarrassing.
    (See it’s easy to do)

  54. Jenny Mulvey says:

We have a more quiet beauty happening in our landscape right now. The plants are sleeping and the blue sky rules the scene. The trees are spider web branches against the sky and the long shadows hold an ancient wisdom. The land holds it’s breath waiting for the snow to come, and we sleep and snuggle under many blankets.

  55. Sharon says:

Your biscuits sound like my monkey bread-exploded basically over the sides of the pan almost! Hubby had never heard of it-giggled and gobbled it up by the handfuls! Hmm–goodies to create–that would be wonderful-magical a little time for moi…!Thanks!

  56. vivian h says:

i own several of your prints, would love to win a little gift from you. you are a wonderful spirit!

  57. Mairi says:

So jealous of all those lovely blooms you still have! Every year I promise myself I’ll plant flowers, and every year I forget. Ah well, at least I have plenty of lovely lettuce, arugula and spinach to feast my eyes (and tastebuds) on! Hope your weekend was lovely.

  58. I adore pink and turquoise! The colors touch the depth of my soul with whimsy~
My brain is fried from the busy four day weekend…as the mom always has to work the most providing turkey and pies, etc. But it is all very worth while being with family and friends.
I refuse to view Yahoo news for a while as it puts me in a bad mood. Just too much ridiculous ‘stuff’ going on in the world. I would rather going iron clothes, or do chores, as that is much more rewarding of a past time…or being creative.
Thank you for your 20% off sale…I shall have a ‘look see’ in your Etsy shop.
Oh, and any giveaway you have is a joy!
    Your rolls sound so yummy!
    =^..^=
    I remain…always a CAT!
    Miss Teresa

  59. sarah says:

Happy Thanksgiving. This was our first Thanksgiving without my mom, but I tried to focus on how thankful I felt for having a mom that taught me to love books and words.
Your blog entry, as always, was lovely. It’s been surprisingly warm in Maine, and I have been able to still pick a few fresh herbs from my garden. The giant rolls look delicious!
Time for the knitting needles and a glass of wine.
    Enjoy your Sunday evening.
    Sarah

  60. Amanda Davis says:

  67. Susan G says:

Vanessa, I really love your sugar plum fairy Xmas postcards. I have been looking at them and looking at them. (I make my own cards, but these are so cute) Sadly…I would be “dead meat” If I purchased cards, with all the “Supplies” I’ve already purchased…I could have 50 women come and make 50 cards each and still not run out of supplies! LOL and then some.
I also would like to say that vase is a unique piece…did you make it??
Just a suggestion, as hardly anyone makes them, how about some YULE cards?
Our TG was very nice, my youngest daughter hosted her first one! It was a proud day for me 🙂
    Love n light,
    Susan

  72. Sumire says:

Pink and turquoise! My favorite color combination as well!

  73. Elle says:

Beautiful! I hosted my very first (but small, thankfully) family Thanksgiving. It went well, with only a small hitch or two that was easily overcome with patience and understanding of kind family and friends. It’s lovely to be enveloped with good food, family and fun; a perfect start to the Holiday Season.
